The Tarbert Hotel, Loch Fyne is a friendly, welcoming accommodation that offers great food, warm hospitality and friendly efficient service. The Tarbert Hotel, with its new owner, Robert Keenan has undergone refurbishment in its spacious hotel rooms, and undergone exterior renovation refreshing the renowned and traditional white and black colours of the Tarbert Hotel though many years.
With two friendly bars, welcoming locals and residents alike and a dining room perfect for small to medium functions, the Tarbert Hotel has the essentials for a comfortable and social stay offering short stays for ferry users for Gigha, Islay and Arran, but also longer stays for the tourist and contractor.

This is never a 4 star hotel, rooms basic, single uncomfortable beds, outdated, shower was dreadful, burning hot but Water just trickled out, turning it down / up made no difference. Breakfast, Staff And location was probably the only saving grace, Seems to be the bar of choice for local auld team, didn't do evening meal there. At 65 a night it's overpriced, apparently it's was only 40 a year ago which was be more on the money. It's ok if your not fussy but I would not go back again.

We booked in last minute. They were very nice and very accommodating. Having said that, it had a bit of a Faulty Towers feel. There were things just didn't work right. (our hot water didn't work in our shower, but our friend's did) Everyone was lovely and did the best they could. The bar had a character, and breakfast was good.

We were visiting Tarbert for the afternoon and popped in here for a refreshing, pick-me-up pint. There wasn't a great selection of beers however and we ended up with a Tennants (which wasn't as bad as I remember, although I struggled to finish the half pint, so actually maybe it was). We sat in the comfortable lounge area - there were a few other people in there when we arrived, and it was nearly silent, making for a somewhat awkward arrival.
Some tunes came on the TV (hits of the 90s, I was in heaven) and we settled back with our beers. I was quite hungry but food wasn't being served until 6pm, so we snacked on some peanuts instead. Within about 1/2 an hour the bar was heaving, it seems perhaps there was some kind of Tarbert pub crawl going on and every table was full. With a relaxing, friendly vibe this was a nice stop for a drink although with the limited range of beers, I'd trying visiting other pubs first to see if anyone had anything a bit more interesting.
