Perthshire - 'all of Scotland' as it is known. Perth, the fair city - where city meets country. Outstanding local 'must visits' are the Fair Maid's House in Curfew Row, The City Art gallery and museum, the theatre (we can arrange early and late meals and suppers), the Black Watch Museum, The City Mills, The new Perth Concert Hall.
The Black Watch Museum is an incredibly important as it tells the history of Scotland and its elite military regiment. The museum is located within the grounds of Balhousie Castle. The origins of this castle, go back as early as the 12th century and is known to have served the Earls of Kinnoull. Originally, it was an L-shaped tower but what we see today is only a central part of the castle.

What a wonderfully cozy place to stay. Finley was the perfect host! This was our favorite place during our 2 week trip to Scotland. It's in a quiet location and only a short walk to the city center. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Maybe the only bad thing is that the rooms get hot during the day. We happen to be there when it was sunny every day, but thank goodness there was a fan in the closet, so we used it quite a bit.
Breakfast was made to order and VERY good. We also enjoyed sitting in the lounge area. Perfect place to relax, have a drink, and read a book. If we ever come back, we will definitely come back here again.

A really lovely hotel in a central location, only a ten minute walk from the town centre through the most lovely sculpture garden alongside the river. Rooms were lovely and the customer service was brilliant. We couldn't fault them and it was so peaceful despite being so close to the city centre. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommend.

We stayed for 1 night and it was superb the bedroom was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding especially the black pudding and bacon I could've eaten just a plate of those 2 items. The host went out of his way to accommodate us recommending good places to eat in town.

We had a short stay recently at the Sunbank House Hotel and we had a lovely time. The room was well appointed and spotless. The bed was large & incredibly comfortable. The hotel is a lovely 10 minute walk from the City centre and you can go through the beautifully maintained Rodney Gardens on your way. We didn't have the breakfast as we were keen on visiting a local Vegan cafe for brunch but it smelled delicious. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Do not have the pleasure of staying but the hosts were kind enough to let us sit in the lounge while waiting for alternative travel after walking a mile from a road traffic incident on the M90. They even provided us with tea while we were waiting, thank you so much. Will look to book a stay next time we need to travel that way again, fantastic and friendly service.

The guy who runs this place really goes above and beyond, booked me a private driver same-day, took care of luggage arrangements and all taxi arrangements, and really hustles to provide great service. Very refreshing to see how much someone cares about their business. Good location into Perth and relatively close to other places you'd go (as compared to some of the places you can stay that are further out).

Our visit to Perth was at the end of a long week of travelling. 5 hotels in 8 nights as we merged some work with a fews days holiday. In the other places had endured squeaky beds, pillows like pancakes, food with the prices of a top restaurant but which tasted like it was from the freezer aisle. We'd been rationed with toilet paper, had frayed bath-towels little bigger than a flannel.
When you arrive at Sunbank House Hotel, you enter from the road behind the property and I there was nothing to say our stay here would be any different to the other places. WRONG! Our welcome was very warm. This was Halloween and lockdown in Scotland included a 6pm curfew on all restaurants and pubs. We were handed our own tray of tea/coffee, the position of all sanitising stations was explained to us and the host was masked at all times.
It was also the only location to have us complete a pre-stay questionnaire about ourselves. Very reassuring. Our room was huge by comparison to the shoeboxes we had stayed in this week. King size bed with ample space to walk around. Stand-alone furniture giving the room character. 2 occasional chairs so we didn't have to sit on the bed all the time. Pillows were fresh and comfortable.
Room temperature was perfect. Decor was immaculate. Clearly very proud of the fact that they keep on top of all maintenance and repairs necessary. Food is just honest grub. I had a homemade steak pie which was delicious. Hubby had chicken wrapped in bacon. And breakfast the next morning was also a delight. On the night we visited, we were the only occupants.
Perhaps due to Covid, or perhaps because this majestic old property is on the opposite side of the river to the town centre. It was shameful. By far the most comfortable night we had all week, and the absolute best value for money. I heartily recommend it, if only for the view overlooking The Tay, Perth and the hills in the distance.

It was a great experience to stay at the Sunbank House Hotel. As the name says, it resembled me more a house than a hotel, specially cozy and comfortable. The owners were very kind, friendly and helpul. The room and other facilities were very clean and well organized. The food was very tasty and well made, and allowed me to know more of the scottish culture. Thank you Mr and Mrs Finlay for the warm welcome and stay! I wish the best for you and the hotel!

Beautiful rooms in a wonderful small hotel. Very impressed with the management, as they ensured everything was available and in good order. Even made a special trip to get kippers for our daughter, to bring her a more British experience. Also, just a short walk to a very charming little town, just a half hour from Edinburgh. Definitely the right choice was made!
