Swaffham is one of the small Brecks market towns which grew during Norfolk's wealthy medieval agricultural past. Dominated by a huge church, most of the Georgian and Victorian facades hide medieval houses. In its heyday there were theatres, assembly rooms, pleasure gardens and a racecourse and Lady Hamilton preferred to live here because Burnham was too quiet!
Stay in one of the 14 individual, sumptuous eclectic bedrooms and suites; maybe a carved four-poster bed; an open fire; a freestanding bath at the foot of the bed with room for two; a roll top bath; a mermaid mosaic; a cow hide or two; antiques and art; contemporary cool; original period features; a huge private decked balcony or a cinema screen.
Ideal for long stays and a great base to explore Norfolk, Self catering guests can still enjoy the use of the hotel's restaurant and cafe deli. Children are welcome to stay in Print room one; please advise reception at the booking stage to ensure you have suitable space and beds. Dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement Print One as long as they are cat tolerant.
Good food has always been a vital ingredient of Stratton's delivery and an important connection with its rural location. The restaurant has won many awards and accolades for it delicious food and the pursuit of only the best ethical and purest local ingredients served in a contemporary English style.

Truly a hidden gem which exceeded expectations. I always read reviews before I book a hotel or restaurant and I was concerned about a couple I read, but thankfully I ignored them and I was not disappointed. The Red Room is theatrically decorated, in keeping with the era of the building, preserving many original features and having had other features restored tastefully.
The staff in all areas went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure a warm welcome. The restaurant experience was beyond expectations. The local produce menu did not disappoint. Presentation was delightful and the service well delivered. This hotel sits down a small lane behind the market place but you hear nothing from the road, houses or nearby shops. The Red Room has an open fire which was prepared ready to light, which we did after dinner and it looked incredible. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

From the minute we walked in & I spotted the huge Ann Carrington sequinned portrait of the Queen, I knew I was going to love Strattons. We stayed in Fantouche which was beautiful. Despite plenty of other guests staying, the hotel is very peaceful as it is tucked away from the town, with zero traffic noise and no passers by. The restaurant is fabulous with plenty of locally sourced ingredients and catering for all dietary requirements. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The perfect base for exploring the North Norfolk coast. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic hotel, we went for a night for our wedding anniversary, the staff were exceptional, so friendly, warm welcoming and so accommodating, we had chocolates and a lovely card in our room, our room was amazing with a copper bath in our room! The dinner we had was fantastic and so was the breakfast in the morning, all locally sourced fresh food and again the staff were amazing. I would highly recommend this gorgeous hidden gem

Lovely overnight stay in the Stalls room. Room was very clean and spacious. Comfy bed and nice pillows. Had a nice evening meal and breakfast at Cocoes, great gluten free options. All hotel staff very friendly. Just a few niggles.our one night stay was 225. For this rate I would've expected a few extras such as robes maybe and a much better hairdryer.
Very basic tea/coffee facilities, not even a biscuit. Mini bar poorly stocked.one tiny bottle of Diet Coke for 2? Blinds over the bed need to be black out.light poured in at 6am. The bulbs in the bowler hat lights could do with being a bit dimmer as so bright. Lots of shelving in the room but absolutely nothing on them? Maybe some cool ornaments and a few books would be a nice touch. Overall a nice stay.we just don't feel it matched the luxury boutique description.

Found the hotel on the Tesla website. Very pleasant stay at Stratton's in the town of Swaffham, with plenty to see and do within a shortish drive. Very friendly helpful staff. Good directions given, including getting in through the narrow lane between the buildings. Fast efficient reception, and even had a reserved parking space to use the Tesla Destination charger - above and beyond.
If our room was anything to go by, the rooms are 'quirky' and all the more charming because of it, reflecting the history of the hotel. Superb breakfast and dinner in CoCoes restaurant - can't be sure, but this may well be the best restaurant for miles, proudly using fresh local ingredients. We'll come back for sure. Well done Stratton's, well done Tesla.

Fantastic rustic hotel in a nice country setting. Rooms are large and some have the added extra of a big balcony with sun loungers, for you to relax. 5 min walk to town square and a lovely little cafe on the side. Breakfast was included and its was excellent. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended

What a Beautiful place this is! I feel like 5 star isn't just enough for the quality of the place and the service offered throughout! I've just come back from staying with them for 2 nights and I can't wait to go back already! Thw whole place was full of beautiful interiors including the restaurant. the staff were so welcoming, warm and friendly. The service was definitely too good!
It's located in the middle of the town but set in the quiet place. immense peaceful 2 days from the city buzz and daily rush! Definitely going back in summer for a longer stay!
