I rate the hotel as a 5 because they saved our butts and the stay was comfortable. It is not a "5-star hotel" For various reasons we were running very late. My other hotel reservation would not answer the phone after 9 pm. It was 1130 by the time we found The Ambassador and we had been traveling for around 15 hours. They had a room. The rooms are clean and have AC but they are more of a traditional UK room being very small.
The bathroom is in the room and has a shower. The beds were very comfortable. Staff were great. The Full English Breakfast buffet was included and was excellent. It was the best I had during the 9 days we were in the UK. We walked from the tube station with backpack and roller bag. We had no issues with the area. Walked to the train Station to catch the heathrow express train to Liverpool in the morning. It is very close.

It's just not very nice, not what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Kettle and TV remote were covered in dust, the window is blacked out so there's no natural sunlight, rooms are quite small. Just doesn't feel very comfortable. We booked a standard room but got changed over without asking to the special room with the wetroom because I'm a wheelchair user.
Only found out when we arrived in the room! It's actually a lot better for me to be in a standard room so I can use a bath, so we had to complain and wait for them to change us over. They should have asked instead of making assumptions about my accessibility needs. The ramp entrance (at the side of the restaurant) requires you to ring a bell and wait for someone to open the door and clear dining chairs out of the way, another thing making me feel like they haven't really thought about their disabled guests. Only good things were the location and the excellent breakfast. Wouldn't stay here again.

Bad experience start to finish was waiting along time to check in while there was a member of staff free at check in. Customer service was bad and staff felt under trained. Asked for 20 deposit on top of paying up front which was strange and felt dodgy. Room was extremely small, sheets had suspect stains. Do not know how this is a 4 star hotel. Thankfully was just a one night stay as a stop over for the Eurostar. Avoid!

Afternoon Tea was classless. Dry sandwiches and cakes. One not friendly at all female serving assistant. The only nice thing was the Scones. The so called one hour bottomless prosecco was few and very far between. I have had many afternoon Teas and this was the worst. I complained about this but it was a waste of my time. No pictures to add as I was not impressed with any of it and I am a person who always takes a picture when I enjoy something.

Great cafe here for a super afternoon tea really well presented. the staff weren't overly friendly and once the food was on the table we never saw them again but this was actually really nice :o This was a great treat as part of my husband's 60th birthday celebrations and I was really impressed with my gluten free option. yum

Ok SO a Disable perspective on this hotel: - None of their accessible rooms have a bigger bed than a queensize, making it pretty tricky if you need adaptive equipment to sleep in. - Disability entrance is TERRIBLE, I had to basically bother other customers dining or lunching, having people get up their chairs etc EVERY TIME I needed to go out or in.
It felt absolutely embarrassing and humiliating. A simple change in the layout of the dining tables could have addressed this! - Accessible toilets are not very well indicated and it's a bit of a trek to find them. PLEASE WORK ON YOUR ACCESS POLICIES AND LAYOUT! Finally, the staff was lovely but the whole experience felt uncomfortable and overpriced.
Bathroom was ok, but had a pretty unpleasant smell coming from the wastewater drainage system on the floor. We had to ask for little extras that were supposed to come with an ambassador room like the robes (I kept wondering if it was because I was disabled.) On the plus side: the mattress is EXTREMELY comfortable, staff is polite and super helpful, and the food is decent. All in all you pay for the location which is hard to beat.

Room was overpriced. You would think paying that much for a room it would at least be clean! The walls, desk and estractor fan were full of dust. The bathroom was outdated and dirty and they didn't even provide toilet paper! Should of gone to the Hilton next door. Would not recommend and would not stay again

[+++] 1) great location: walking distance from British Museum and St Pancras International (Eurostar) + close to Euston Station 2) complimentary bottled water and tea bags + nespresso coffee machine available in your room 3) excellent breakfast spots available around Tavistock Place 4) Starbucks & Pret A Manger are just down the street [---] 1) very small bathroom and not too clean either 2) small desk 3) hard bed 4) the hotel requires an incidental deposit of 50 upon check-in [***] In one of the most expensive cities in the world, finding a stylish hotel at a budget price isn't an easy task. Everyone likes to save her cash for sightseeing. The prices at Ambassadors Bloomsbury are reasonable but better hotels are available for the same price or less.

The hotel and staff both looked quite pleasant but the afternoon team which we had was very disappointing and can't really hold a candle to some of the others that London has to offer for similar money. We were unlucky to pick a really hot day, but the cream was half melted by the time it got to us, and we left quite a lot of food (which is not usually the case!).

Great hotel. We only stayed one night but the staff was wonderful and the room was perfect. Comfy king bed, free water and the staff helped with other essentials after an airline lost one of our bags. We are planning another London trip and will definitely be back. There was some minor construction going on around the building but we never heard a peep. Really great hotel.

The Ambassador is fine. I mean, you'll be paying over the odds anywhere in this area, so there's really no need to make a huge effort, and the rooms felt as though this was reflected. They weren't untidy, they were clean. But they weren't inspiring, or particularly attractive. Pure business. For some reason my fridge was emptied of everything, bar mini UHT milks, and some bottles of water - which were warm, as I don't believe the fridge was actually switched on.
Maybe there's never a mini bar? The shower was decent, the bed was comfortable, although if you're a light sleeper I found the odd buzzing a distraction. And I was hotter than the sun on my first night here, so found it hard to sleep. I realise that's perhaps my problem, and not the room's. Check in isn't available until after 3pm, which I found quite late compared to other spots I've stayed at.
The staff, however, were great. There was a friendly face on at reception every time and the lass who mans the bar late at night is very patient, and accommodating! Not easy when you've a real crowd of folk, and drinks are forgotten to be paid for, and so on. They also allowed us a toasted sandwich from the kitchen a little after it had closed, which was very kind. I'm not overly enamoured of the hotel itself, but the staff certainly made the trip feel warm and welcome. It's not plush, but it is functional.

Oh that is a tough one. In general I would say this is a pretty good location to stay. Location. Location. Location. But the Hotel itself could use some improvements. Maybe I compare it too much with German standards. It is just difficult to go above 4 Stars when I was not really able to stand up straight ind the show, use the sink etc. The bathroom was really small.
Not really one to relax after a day in the office. Trying to actually store my hand luggage somewhere was also not really convenient. Why? Well, you know these stands for you luggage, so you can put your open suitcase on top of it? They had one, but not really enough room to actually use it. The room was just way too small to actually enjoy the stay.
It was a good place to sleep. But as soon as you wake up, you simply need to leave the room. Staff and Bar personal were really nice. Made the stay enjoyable. But the rooms simply could not keep up with the standards they try to implement there.

Nice budget hotel. Good points: - Staff are exceedingly friendlly - It's pretty good value - Very comfortable bed with the nicest pillows ever! - Location is right next to Euston Station, so very central, but in a very pretty part of town - I asked for a wake up call for 7.30am (having not seen this hour of the day in quite some time), but cleverly left my phone off the hook.
A member of staff was knocking on my door by 7.32am to make sure I was awake. Nice touch Meh-ish points: - They have an adjoining restaurant and bar. It's probably not somewhere you're gonna wanna hang out in for long periods of time, but it's totally fine. - I ordered a toasted sambo from room service which took nearly an hour to arrive.
It was cold when it did and a little soggy. No one wants a soggy sandwich! BUT the server did say that they had a huge party of 80 in the restaurant so were run off their feet. Fair enough! - There aren't much 'extras' in the room - no gumph about the facilities in the hotel, or no hairdryer / iron etc, although I guess you could probably order these from reception if you needed to.
Bad point: - WIFI. Terrible terrible terrible. Mostly wasn't able to log on at all, and in the (very intermittent) times that I was able to, it was incredibly slow. I don't understand how hotels that have a general business clientele don't have workable WIFI. I just don't get it!

We booked online via Expedia.com and were happy once we arrived. It's located 2 blocked from the Euston station and walking distance from the British Museum and the North Sea Fish Restaurant (apparently it's "hot on Yelp"). This hotel and restaurant have very modern decor that reminded me on IKEA. The room was very small but had lots of ammenities and efficient. LCD tv, heated towel bar, hair dryer, coffee maker and free WiFi. The only thing I didn't like was the bed, it was very firm. Our rate included a full English breakfast and it was very satisfying and good service.

Don't be fooled by the Edwardian facade - if you like modern rooms that feature bold, primary colours and sleek furnishings that are designed for aesthetic appeal rather than practical application then this is the place for you. The staff are helpful friendly and informative and the location is hard to beat easy to reach the West End and, as crucial, easy to avoid also.
The hotel is currently offering a 150pp for two nights deal (strings attached, natch) which given the levels of service and the location is not a bad rate. The restaurant, 'number 12', is not cheap but the modern Italian food is the equal of pricier joints in the surrounding areas and you'll be able to stagger back to your bed following a few ill-considered cocktails at the cool bar.
