The overall impression is one of welcome and rest and peace and quiet. The staff are very helpful with a bright and happy manner, the food in the restaurant was very impressive, full of flavour and good size plate and overall lovely stunning location.

Very cosy, comfortable, chilled, old fashioned hotel. Very nice, friendly staff. Great, quiet location, away from it all.

Our break with you was lovely. Great food and a lovely selection in the bar. Felt really safe with the Covid rules in place and, of course, thank you for the special Golden Wedding strawberry sponge!

Good location, staff and food excellent. However cleanliness of room was poor and the place is tired and needs a complete facelift.

We have stayed here for many years now. You will not find a warmer welcome, a warmer fire side and such a stunning base to discover all the wonderful things Exmoor has to offer. We love this place.

The staff is very friendly and Andy knows everything worth to be known about the area! As my luggage was delayed everyone helped me f.e. called the airport for bits of information. The hotel offers wifi but there is no signal for mobile phones. The guests have to use the landline of the hotel. The surrounding is breathtaking and the birds seem to sing the whole day long.

I endorse the other enthusiastic comments. Lovely place with comfortable sitting room and bar both with open fire. A very good breakfast with plenty of options. A host who was always available and helpful without being intrusive. Much recommended. I stayed for three nights last month
