Popped in on way home. Great staff and the food was good value for money. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

We went away for my birthday weekend, visited the Cotswold. From the booking.com pictures I thought was an OK place for just sleeping at. What a great mistake that was, instead of getting a nice break I came back more stressed and tired than before. From a lady's review I can see she must had our same room, room 1 is appalling, dirty carpet, mouldy grouting in the bathroom, rotten window frame, glass panel with a gap, rusty towel rail, orribile black bath tap.

The bed was like torture with springs digging into my ribs, the room was near the stairs door, therefore lots of banging of the door until late night, also was above the kitchen, early noises of the kitchen fan starting at about 7am! However the actual bath is very deep and comfy, the staff is wonderful, the girls were all kind and helpful, AJ also kindly offered us free cooked breakfast, which it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Is a nice family run business that needs a little bit of investment into it. So sorry about this review because you are all lovely people but. I didn't have a nice restful birthday break.

The bed was comfortable, the room warm and clean with a delightful bathroom and lashings of hot water. The weekend break was outstanding and great value for money with the added bonus of having attentive staff and a entirely fabulous restaurant and bar. The hotel is situated in the centre of this historic market town with a capacious car park

Really liked it here. Went with family - four adults and two children, for Sunday lunch. The vegan and vegetarians enjoyed their food immensely.

They obviously have a damp issue they dont seem to be perplexed by. The ceiling looked awful. The sink had lots of scale. The noise of the toilet or when the water ran was loud. The tv is low down so it can barely be seen. The kettle has no plug next to it. The carpet was coming up by the door. The room was pretty small. The bathroom was tiny! Could barely move to sit on the loo.

The bed was clean but pillows way too hard. We didn't hang around to try the breakfast. We only stayed here as it was very local to an event near by we attended and there isn't much choice in Highworth. The staff are polite enough but doesnt seem like they take much pride in the building itself.

Good beer and food selection. Beer very reasonably priced. Always busy!

Meals are value for money. We were a table for 2. We waited a long time for a soup starter to come out and was told she was sorting out the big table but we had been at our table at least 30+ minutes before that table had arrived.

No stars at all. I'm nearly 73years old and I have to say that this is the worst room I have ever stayed in. The carpet was so dirty I had to put my shoes on to walk on it. Rusty bathroom radiator in broken toilet seat. Mould in the shower and when we arrived we were informed that there was no breakfast to be had. But that is nothing compared to the bed Ha! Ha! that was the icing on the cake. So by 4oclock we decided to get up and drive home what a lovely ending to our Valentine's night. So please be warned.
