Very filling and tasty cream tea. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a wheelchair user with us and the manager very kindly took us through the shortest route. I would recommend ringing ahead to inform them if you have a wheelchair user as we were taken to easiest way to you the dining room without using the carpark asissted lift.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea yesterday and it was wonderful. It had a nice, intimate feel and the staff Sandy and I forgot the man's name but they were both excellent. They let us have a vegetarian afternoon tea and let us in about an hour early. There were only about 2 other tables being used. It's lovely and right near the seaside. We'd definitely come again.

So sad that our 4 day half-term/Valentines break was cancelled a few days before as hotel now being used to accommodate refugees. Why can't government use the hotels more in land and let us carry on enjoying our country/seaside towns! This is supposedly until August so a lot more people going to be sad they can't use this hotel. This has changed the way we feel about Southsea. We have used this hotel once/twice yearly over the past 5 years or so. Guess that changes now. Great shame

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel twice for a short weekend break. Its in a great location almost opposite the Pier. The staff are welcoming and friendly. For some the hotel might seem a bit out dated, like stepping back in time to the 1970's, but i quite like that. The room we had on both occasions was spacious and clean. Its worth paying a bit more for a room at the front. There are not many pubs or Restaurants nearby, but there are two both about 15 minutes walk away. Will definitely book again if staying in Southsea.

A delicious Carvery with choice of Starter buffet and Dessert buffet also, you can have just 1 course or all 3. The Lamb was the best I have ever had, not one bit of grizzle or waste. Starter buffet includes seafood, pasta, fruit, cold meat and coleslaw. Lovely, friendly attentive staff. Overall seems like a very classy hotel.

Stayed one night only, reception staff were friendly, helpful and extremely swift at completing our booking. The room was fine, spacious enough for a couple and had a large on suite bathroom (with a bath, which is unusual!) The bar is quite large and wasn't crowded for a Friday night. Food served in the bar was okay, though the fish was a bit mediocre and neither of us were able to eat some bits of it.
The decor in some areas (bathroom and general toilets) is looking a little dated but was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was, frankly, excellent from the friendly helpful staff to the range of food choices. All in all, good value.

Lovely staff who are very helpful. Scrumptious help yourself breakfast. Our room was perfect for us and very clean. Old hotel that needs some updating and a lick of paint (which they're in the midst of doing in the corridors). We ate in the bar in the evenings and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Will definitely go there again
