Novar Arms Hotel

Staying at Novar as we were working in the area. Great for a good feed and maybe only the 1 night. For me the pros and cons made it an OK stay. If I was staying for the week a bit less than OK. The food was good, although I Limited my main meal to Fish and chips on both nights as the fish was fresh and cooked great. Portion size overall were large. Rooms are OK, a little dated, but I slept well in my room.

My colleague on had blinds in his room, which wasn't great as the light came through the blinds. The hotel is in a quite village with a coop local almost next door. Parking is either in front or over the road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, big portions and the option of Scottish or English. Refillable coffee and even takeaway cups for the job ahead. If I was travelling north for work I would stay again, if only for a night or two.

Traditional pub linked with the hotel. Local young crowd was hanging out there. I had a few pints and fish and chips - nothing to complain about.

Enormous meals but lacking in quality, basic accommodation but clean. Friendly staff.

Nice and cozy little gem. Rooms are spacious and meals are spot on. The staff were very professional and helpful (Meghan and Alice). I would definitely recommend it to holiday makers and travellers.

Grate place to stay, been working up here for a few weeks now and my experience has been positive, good food, clean rooms, sound bunch of locals and helpful staff who like good banter.

You have to ask, what sort of people stay here and give these reviews? There is no way this is more than 2 stars. This is a classic working man's overnight digs where good food means a big plate of food and not necessarily well cooked! The staff are very helpful and the place is clean and well run but. overall it's a bit shabby and not the most comfortable place to stay.

Great little hotel & in the best little town squeaky floorboards but wow amazing food. Highly recommend

Can't thank Ralph and the group at the Novar Arms Hotel enough the service we received was amazing last minute extra few days booking nothing was a problem. Staff always happy and smiling will definitely be returning at some point

We were on a Motorcycle tour of Scotland. We stayed here for 5 nights just after the covid restrictions were eased. The hotel had their own restrictions that made you feel safe. The staff were very good and looked after us well. The food was amazing. The bar was open to residents only but shut at 8pm and only had 1 beer on offer. Just one of the things to keep the staff and residents safe.

Easy to find. Plenty places to park. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room nice n comfortable and food was good. Cant ask for much more for the price

Really nice place to spend a night. Cozy rooms in affordable price, helpful service, free parking just on opposite site of road.

Really cosy room. Very clean and friendly staff. The food is amazing. Not much in shops nearby got a co op. But very near here is a village with all the shops you could ask for.
