Its like this. For the price I paid for two nights (45) it was probably the best stay I ever had. If, however, I had to pay 20 more, I would be absolutely fuming. Not at the state of the hotel, theres nothing wrong with that. Decor may be a bit dated, however beds are comfy. Room was clean. Tea, mini fridge, mini tv and a power shower. All lovely. But.
My room was at the top floor, right above the roof, which in this weekend heatwave was almost unbearable. And to open the window means no sleep at all, because the window is facing a motorway (ok its an a road but almost like a fu%&ing motorway, constant neverending stream of traffic at any time of day) so yeah. If you however get a room thats not right under the roof, and one which is facing the garden, for the right price, like I said the best stay ever. Oh and the parking; well lets not talk about that. Best to arrive by train.

Needs a complete refit in the bathrooms no meed for limescale to the extent on taps, needs new baths. Looks like they have done tiling themselves and not finished of at all well. Rooms where clean and bedding but needs new carpets and hallways need dusting. Outside beer bottles not a good 1st impression. Breakfast was not good, service didnt understand what i wanted. Vegetarian option was same no sausage or bacon egges hard asked for runny twice. Cheap stay to where we wanted to be could be so much better top tip use viakal on you taps and baths.

The Pines was filthy and simply the worst place that I have ever had to stay in. I was seriously tempted to sleep in my car as I was unable to move to another hotel as everywhere else was seemingly booked out. I cannot comment on the breakfast as the person who checked me in stated that I didn't ask for breakfast but that he could do me a 'half breakfast'! I left at this point.

Well what can I say apart from you get what you pay for. Friendly staff, and cheap place to put your head if you're having a night out around Chippenham. Good WiFi Bad bits, rooms are dated and need a good sort out, water tastes weird, tv is tiny, parking is dismal. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were wafer thin. And toilet was badly stained. I really can't fault the guy working on reception, he was lovely

Nothing good to say. Room was tired, sticky carpet, no pillow or mattress protecter. Bed hard. Towels had holes. Quilt cover had holes. Shower unsafe to use. Went to bar for drink. Well got what we could hardly stocked. Breakfast waited 30 mins to be served and another 15, i just had toast was cold and like card board. Hubby had full English, that was actually ok. The breakfast room had dirty sticky tables. Yes you get what you pay for and a whole more a yuk! Would deffo never stay here again

You get what you pay for to be honest. Plus sides free wifi in the room, good place if you just wanted somewhere to get your head down. Little bit gloomy and needs a lick of paint to be honest but understandable after covid some places aren't able to redo their place, and the car park entrance is very narrow. The staff were great, the younger man working there was very kind.

I would give this a minus rating if possible! We couldn't even stay over night in this grotty place! It says it has parking but to get to the car park you have to go down an extremely narrow drive which our car wouldn't fit! Outside the front is a few spaces but they where all taken! We drove around for street parking but all bays were taken up and most roads were double yellow lines!
So we drove home. although after seeing the room we weren't exactly looking forward to sleeping there! Its a cheap very run down dirty place with stained toilet! I think its one place that covid wouldn't even visit! If anyone is reading this please go elsewhere! I think the bates motel would be a better bet than this place!

Be aware that what I write is the Closest to what I would want to write. Life has not been going as well as I would have wished. However, the biggest attraction was the practice of no Credit Cards were necessary when booking. The property is on a slope going into a large Car park at the rear which cannot be seen from the front. Finally, there are different types of rooms which attract different fees. Joseph M Glasgow
