Ormidale Hotel This lively, family-run pub with en suite rooms is a 15-minute walk from the Brodick ferry terminal on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. Built originally as a holiday home for the wealthy London artist George Hering, Ormidale has been owned and run as a hotel, by the Gilmore family, since 1935. Our lovely rooms all have en suite bathrooms, flat screen TVs, and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is a real treat at Ormidale. Our traditional full Scottish breakfasts are cooked individually to your order and included with the room rate.
Services
Our rooms are comfortable, stylishly decorated and have en suite bathrooms. We use Arran Aromatics toiletries, good quality linen and only the fluffiest of towels. Flat screen televisions and tea making facilities are provided along with everything else you would expect from a 3* hotel. Breakfast is a real treat at Ormidale.
The pub the locals come to eat in - a decent plate of honest homemade food, locally sourced and delicious. Non bistro style! We have recently been awarded a certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor -come and see why. Meals are served between 5 & 9pm. Our menu includes firm favourites such as our legendary Steak & Kidney pie, (Local) Venison casserole & our homemade burgers. There are vegetarian options as well as fish and salads. If it's sunny, eat in the glass house amongst the Geraniums or outside in the beer garden.
Arran is beautiful - seals bask on the rocks beneath Brodick Castle while red deer roam the heather-clad bens and glens which provide a real challenge to the serious climber or a leisurely walk for the rambler or naturalist. Ridge walking is deservedly very popular, not least because of the spectacular views which the mountains and burns enshrine.

Had dinner in here a couple of times over our visit- they have a quiz and music bingo - we attended both - brilliant nights out, full of fun and laughter - food was also great.

5 night stay, perfect, clean, simple twin bedroom. The bathroom had clearly been newly renovated, it looked fantastic very modern. The bedroom was a great size for the 2 of us with two single beds. Room came with complimentary teas, coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits from Arran. The room also had a smart TV with lots of channels, including Netflix and All4.

Internet access throughout the hotel, room and bar. Food portions still huge but super tasty and well worth the money! Staff are all lovely and a credit to Arran and the Ormidale Hotel. The bar is busy every night so you can tell it is a very well liked hotel in Arran. Overall 5 star rating from us for the Ormidale Hotel. Couldn't fault a single aspect of it all! Totally recommend!

Can't say much about the rooms because I just went there to eat something. Very good food though and not expensive either. Friendly (and beautiful) girl who served me.

We had dinner here and the place was lovely. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. The menus are old records which is cool. Plenty of choice and live music on when we visited on a Sunday. Highly recommended. and the steak and ale pie is just amazing.

Spent three nights here recently. Was made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. Bar staff were absolutely fantastic. Food was excellent - we are there every night and breakfast was really good too - nice variety. The room was really warm and comfy and even when it was busy in the bar downstairs, we never heard anything. The family who own the hotel are also really friendly. Can't wait to come back!

We popped in for dinner and a pint! Fast service but the food wasn't great. The lounge is very run down and it doesn't smell great either. Friendly and helpful staff. Place has the opportunity to be great just some things need upgrading!

The Ormidale is a brilliant place. I have not stayed in the hotel but I have been a visitor to their bar when I get over to Arran over the past 20 years. They have great live entertainment and the pub atmosphere is cozy and inviting with an open fire in the bar area. The staff are welcoming and always friendly to talk to. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Popped in for a pint and some food before catching the last ferry, really enjoyed it. Staff were all super friendly and chatty, steak pie portion was HUGE (much more generous than in Glasgow!) and its very cosy and traditional inside. Also a lovely big beer garden with brilliant views.
