Nice hotel with lovely grounds but I just couldn't help seeing little things that could be improved to bring it to a better level. Check in staff really lovely. Bar staff made inappropriate comment which was not at all professional which was a bit of a let down. We had 3 course evening meal which was nice as was breakfast in lovely dining room.

Beautiful hotel, in a historic building, with some lovely grounds. The room i had was fine, but nothing special, but I suspect there are some much nicer ones in the building. The food was a little disappointing and didn't live up to the other elements, but it was all edible.

Took my parents for the jubilee celebration afternoon tea last week. Was a disappointing experience. The only nod to the jubilee was a piece of, badly cut, purple organza on the table. We weren't told that the jubilee tea included a glass of champagne, we were asked which tea we wanted. No choice of sandwiches, not told what the sandwiches or pastries were.

There was a trifle served in a plastic shot glass with no spoon to eat it with. There was a fork but this wasn't even a pastry fork! What should have been a lovely experience wasn't. Only three other tables occupied, which I was surprised at too. A shame, I expected more.

Yesterday I attended Oatlands Park Hotel for the Diamond Jubilee Afternoon Tea with a friend. The hotel, gardens and grounds are quite beautiful, however the afternoon tea was a disappointment. The staff were attentive, the tea was very good, the sandwiches and cakes very unappetising. They were badly presented, the cakes were just unevenly cut pieces of fruit cake and what looked like lemon cake with a couple of biscuits.

The jam was dreadful. This was definitely not a four star Afternoon Tea, there was no indication that it was a celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, the food was very ordinary not worth the money.

OK, that's a tough one! Hotel is in a nice location, great surroundings, spacious garden, clean and cute rooms, service is great in reception area. The biggest dissappointment was restaurant and its food quality. Me and my partner had dinner. We ordered cod and chicken for main and salmon for starters. Starters were plain (toasted few pieces of cheap bread and slices of salmon) no dressings or lemon was brought on the side, so it tasted very dry.

Main dishes. It was such a disaster (as seen in picture we barely touched it). Food had no flavour whatsoever and it was very blend. We were upset with chef as all of that went to waste. Obviously not to stay hungry we had to go out and have dinner somewhere else to satisfy our stomacks. When we were checking out elderly couple were complaining about restaurant food too saying that was the worse meal they ever had.

This place has a great potential but not with a chef they have now. Replace the cook and your hotel will thrive. I am affraid due to restaurant experience I can only rate our stay 2 stars. We were not even asked if we did not like food or something was wrong (as we left our plates full on the table).

Don't book with breakfast included. The hotel is lovely, based in quiet beautiful location but still fairly local. The decor inside as well as on the outside is really nice. The room itself was nice and spacious, there was a nice view from the window as well. The TV didn't work in the room because of signal issues but this wasn't too much of a problem.

The bathroom was really big but didn't have a bath in which was surprising considering there was enough space for one, the shower was nice and hot and the mirror in the bathroom was handy with a built in light. The hotel is quite big and it took us a few attempts to find our room, also note there are no lifts here all stairs only. The bar area and lobby was nice to relax in.

Staff we encountered were all friendly and informative. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing hash browns were rock hard, beans were luke warm and mushy and found a hair in mine. Personally, I don't think there was much to choose from and not a lot hot vegan/veggie options. We had dinner included on our first night; the restaurant was understaffed but the staff working were doing their best in this situation, of course we understand it was difficult - with that being said the wait times for starters, mains and our drinks was quite long, this was the only negative here though, the food was really nice, small portions but nice. Despite the negatives I would stay here again without breakfast included.

I held my baby shower at Oatlands Park in one of the private event rooms and it was a fantastic afternoon! The events team who helped to organise it were so attentive and every little attention to detail was taken care of from the food to the allergens, the music and table set up. On the day, the event manager, Jamie, was so helpful. The afternoon tea was delicious and all of my guests were so impressed! It was a perfect afternoon!

We ordered afternoon tea. I had several email communications with the hotel to ensure the food was suitable. When we arrived they had no knowledge of my requests. The sandwiches they brought over were stale, some of the crockery was dirty and needed replacing. The tea was cold. The maitre (?) was rude and incompetent. We left and had to find somewhere else to eat. They ruined a very special day.

The room was comfortable but overpriced. Some staff were polite, others weren't (restaurant). There is no joy in the place, in fact really soulless.

We chose this venue, booking a lunch slot for our Mother's 90th birthday. The service was relaxed which was fine but very good all the same, the team being very friendly. The food was tremendous; I had the rump steak, beautifully cooked blue with a luscious blue cheese and red wine sauce and the very naughty chips and gorgeous mushrooms complemented the steak wonderfully.

Easy parking. Had a 'traditional afternoon tea' in the Mulbarry Restaurant with family to celebrate our birthdays. Good selection of interesting teas with sandwiches, 2 types of scones with cream and strawberry conserve, and a nice selection of cakes - all served on a cake display. Polite and friendly service. The tea cooled down quickly in the china teapots, so might have liked hot top ups - would recommend requesting this if you don't like cold tea!

Wonderful 3 night stay. Bedroom clean, bed v comfortable, breakfast incredibly delicious. I have never been to a hotel where ALL the staff were so courteous, kind, professional and helpful. Very impressive. The grounds were wonderful to walk and relax in. My stress levels dissipated within moments of beginning our stay.

Had a fantastic nights stay at this lovely hotel (through secret escapes). Staff were friendly, food was good and the hotel itself and grounds were beautiful. Only negative was the view from the room - looking out on the staff car park and numerous shipping container storage units. That said, the room itself was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

We had great service. Missing a star due to the food at dinner not being the greatest, quite bland. Breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from. The decor was beautiful, the Executive room was nicely furnished and airy. And the surrounding area was lovely also.

We have stayed at the hotel on several occasions, but this time we booked through Groupon, who provided a good deal for a weekend deal. However, we decided to ask for a superior room, which we paid an extra amount, and the hotel, very willingly, provided us with a very good choice of rooms. We really enjoyed the accommodation, the delicious food in the renovated dining room and the central position of the hotel itself, there are so many delightful places to visit within easy reach. The service was very good at all times. We would certainly recommend the hotel as an excellent place to stay

I spend a lot of time in your hotel and it is my second home. The reception staff are fantastic specifically Lauriane, Salvador and Sebastien. The bar and lounge area is always well looked after and Antoine is a particular asset. Some of the rooms are a little dated but they are impeccably clean as are the bathrooms. The food is very good but the room service menu has the same selection that it has had for the past 2 years so needs a refresh. The grounds are always really maintained too. Overall I love staying at the Oatlands Park.

Superb, almost royal experience in the estates. The access is reasonably easy by car or cab. The breakfast in the morning is the best way to start your day and the experience is really wonderful. The service and the food are truly impeccable. While most of the rooms are old, the revamping of the hotel has been progressing in right earnest at little or no disruption to guests staying on the premises.

The revamped rooms, while they are definitely better, could be made even better - however, that might come at the cost of removing some of the fixtures that help define the historical legacy of the place. Given what I look for in a business hotel (a good bed, a TV with decent news coverage and a good breakfast), this hotel exceeds my expectations by a mile! Strongly recommended!
