Good effort but could try harder for the price. Food is good bit for 45 each for three courses and a drink I wouldnt expect to pay extra for vegetables. I would expect to be offered a drink when my glass was low. I wouldn't expect to have to goto the bar to pay.

Meikleour Arms, a fabulous place we found. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They really go the the whole nine yards to make sure that everything about your stay is perfect. Very well done to them all! The food is also excellent with good choices, and the restaurant staff are experts at timing their delivery to your table and the removal of everything when you finish each course.

We had our terrier with us and she was welcome. The room was compact but very stylish and on the ground floor. Much nicer than the modern style of hotel which are just functional boxes for you to sleep in. Of course we had the usual equipment that is expected these days, en suite bathroom with shower, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, and, one very nice touch was the small crystal decanter containing sherry with two sherry glasses for us to enjoy, on the house!

Lovely touch. The Inn itself is built in the traditional style of the surrounding area. The village of Meikleour is small but very tidy and full of beautiful cottages and houses. There are some nice walks on quiet lanes for the dog and you find yourself in the lovely Perthshire countryside as soon as you step outside the door. Salmon fishing on the river Tay is also available from the Inn. Blairgowrie is ten minutes drive and Couper Angus similar.

A beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished bar and restaurant. A really good menu - not too ambitious and with an eye on quality. The service was efficient, attentive, professional and friendly.

Very smart and spacious room. The shower was excellent, really powerful. Bed was big and comfortable. Good breakfast too. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was very good indeed with many of the ingredients from the estate. We will be back next time we are in the area as it is one of the best places we have stayed and we felt it was well priced for the quality.

The Meikleour Arms is a lovely country hotel and pub, located within the conservation village of Meikleour and the Meikleour Estate in Perthshire. It is a short drive from Perth, Dunkeld and Blairgowrie, an area internationally renowned for its spectacular woodlands and great salmon fishing. The premises has 5 luxurious family cottages and 11 bedrooms.

Our ground floor dog-friendly bedroom had a wonderful super-sized four-poster bed, plus beautiful and spacious modern bathroom, with walk-in shower as well as a bath. The award winning restaurant features ingredients sourced from their estate and kitchen garden, including the venison, which was lovely. There was also a lovely selection of vegetarian options available and dogs are permitted in dedicated areas of the dining room.

We stayed in early November 2021 and really enjoyed our visit:, we had a beautiful room, enjoyed lovely food and all the staff were friendly and made a fuss of our Labrador, who was a little anxious about being away from home.

Everything about the M Arms oozes quality, even the car park is the best ever. We hadn't booked but they were good enough to fit us in. The pub-brewed beer was excellent. The food on the interesting menu is home-made, using locally produced ingredients. We had the kedgeree and the tureen with a side-salad and all were top class. Unbeatable. All this with friendly, helpful staff made it the highlight of our day. Thank you.

My wife and I visited for lunch stop while on a road trip. We took a seat in the pub and ordered a couple of ales. They had a decent selection of whiskies so I ordered a premium Scotch whisky. Afterward, we had a nice lunch. Everything was very pleasant until I got the check. There was an additional premium whisky added onto the check. I know that errors can happen but we were the only people in the pub. It didn't sit well with me. When I pointed out the extra charge, it was removed but it just didn't feel right to me.

Just a wee update - the hotel is having a refurbishment and is already looking very smart indeed. We stayed for a couple of nights in one of the new rooms (the 'super-king superior') - actually, we were the first guests in there - and really enjoyed the 'new look' of the place, even though there is still building work going on.

The bar-restaurant area has been completely redesigned with more seating space and a larger bar with separate eating area behind. The decor is very 'country estate' with flagstone floors and rustic wallpaper. They've hung a selection of pictures, mostly etchings of historical figures, which we were told have some connection with the estate (Marie Antoinette?).

Every table held a hand-made flower holder hewn from a length of tree branch, and there's a wood-burning stove straddling the wall between the bar and eating area that I imaging will keep things cosy in the winter. Our room was lovely, with a huge four-poster bed and a vague rococo feel to the furnishings and decor, although the fixtures were bang up to date.

We especially loved the walk-in shower in the en-suite (with choice of 'normal' or 'rain' shower head), and if that wasn't enough for you, there's a bath as well! We ate dinner both nights of our stay, and the food hasn't deteriorated since our last encounter I'm glad to say. The server on the second night was a young boy who was clearly in need of some further training in customer relations, but the rest of the staff were really friendly and made us feel right at home.

Cute little find. Good honest pub food. Awesome crackling and apple sauce offered as a starter! Staff are friendly and approachable, the whole place is pretty charming and the food is plentiful and tasty. Lovely spot to sit outside in the summer especially
