The Meadfoot Bay Hotel When it comes to a stay on the English Riviera we like to think you'll find a stay at Bay offers something delightfully unexpected. While we would never describe ourselves as grand, nor luxurious, we prefer to think of ourselves as a cosy, distinctive, alternative. A true boutique hotel (ranked 4 star by the AA) that's family owned and with a team who really care about making your stay as memorable as possible.

The other thing that makes us different is our award winning Brasserie. Opened just months before the first lockdown it has nevertheless won several accolades the most recent of which is attaining two rosette status.
Services
First take years of marketing experience working with companies great and small in the travel and leisure sectors, ranging from hotels to airlines, airports to tourist authorities. Add to that the good fortune of having stayed in some of the loveliest boutique hotels and B&Bs you could rest your head in (mind you it wasn't all a bed of roses, we've stayed in some stinkers too!).
Many have said to us how ideal Meadfoot Bay seems to be for groups of family, friends or even wedding parties to get together in a stylish, yet informal, setting. Indeed the very nature of the building lends itself to a house party! Parties can be on a B&B basis, or if you prefer fully catered, the choice is yours.
And the ugly. Obviously we hope it will always be the former but we know however hard we try sometimes we won't get everything right. We're only human after all. So if you think there's room for improvement in any area then please let us know. Alternatively you may have had an idea that you'd like to share with us?
Room only - gets you a great bed for the night with complimentary tea, coffee and water in your room and of course toiletries and lovely fluffy towels as a minimum. Classic, Deluxe rooms and suites all provide dressing gowns and slippers too. If you change your mind at any time during your stay you can have breakfast for an extra charge payable on check out.

Lovely hotel, beautiful and spacious room, great full English breakfast and Marcio (on reception) was very warm, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended for your next stay in Torquay.

Quite simply the best meal I've had in a long time. The restaurant is small and has a really relaxed vibe. The food is perfectly cooked. If you're looking for somewhere to have a celebratory meal you can't go wrong here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, comfortable room a quiet haven in Torquay. Lovely presented breakfasts. Areas to sit and have a drink or cocktail from a large range of local gins!.

Stayed here for a couple of nights, the room we had wasnt very big but it was clean and modern. The breakfast menu was varied and cooked beautifully and the Bistro was exceptional.

Lovely restaurant plus attentive but not over imposing staff. Great food shared with good friends capped a lovely visit but be aware, this is a premium venue so prices are somewhat higher than for other local restaurants. All this being said, recommended.

The Meadfoot Bay was a great place to stay, along with friendly and helpful staff tending to your needs when you needed help. The hotel itself was situated in a really lovely area and the food that they offered was great too. The rooms themselves were very nice and very nicely laid out and very clean, everything was in the room that you could possibly want including a mini fridge.

I will say unfortunately, that the TV (in the room we stayed in at least) was outdated and quite laggy. The room should have a smart tv as this includes apps which will keep you entertained if you just want a night in. The pillows were very well used and so were quite thin, prompting us to buy new pillows for the week, the mattress too was bumpy and well used and could use an update. Overall I think this is a great place to and would stay again but I do think it is important for these little features to be updated

Faultless service, very welcoming and attentive. Appreciated thoughtful touches such as being able to have our welcome prosecco at a later time. Room was spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated and modern, with a mini fridge and safe. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent- during covid was asked to pre-order via the app which wasn't a problem.

The hot pescetarian options were delicious - smoked haddock and poached egg, veggie hot breakfast with halloumi and poached egg and avocado on toast. Good quality coffee and orange juice. Dinner on site was also delicious! We had a drink a couple of times in the bar which was very pleasant. We really liked the location, in a quiet part of town just 15min walk into the main 'touristy' part of town (although it is quite uphill on the way back, ditch the heels!). Small carpark but we were able to find a space easily each day.

Good position out of town but easy to access by pleasant cliff walk, taxi or driving. Disappointed with the quality of food considering the price. Room was adequate, not cleaned or visited by staff in our 4 day stay. Car park too small, drive and garden rather neglected
