Mayfair Hotel The hotel is family owned and run and we offer a friendly, relaxed and informal atmosphere. The Mayfair occupies an unrivalled position with views across Sandown bay to Culver down and cliff. The large, sea facing sun terrace and gardens, offer the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cool drink on a summer's day whilst watching the many ocean going liners pass by. On colder days, our comfortably furnished Lounge bar offers panoramic views from behind the shelter of the picture windows.

Mayfair Hotel, is a family run hotel, friendly and excellent service. Prime location for the beach. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend the hotel.

Family room with a baby on the top floor through a maze of stairs. Staff are unwelcoming and not helpful or friendly. Yes it's a basic hotel but very limited in basic things even no phone to be able to call through to reception. Not worth it, stay elsewhere.

Oh dear! Not the friendliest place. Reception is a serving hatch in a side corridor. Bar and lounge were closed off. Didn't try the restaurant owing to the woeful reviews. Room was OK, clean and functional. But 320 for 2 nights was a rip off. No lift. No hospitality. Not the worst I've stayed in but would not stay there again.

Had an amazing stay at Mayfair hotel, staff were excellent and attentive. The view of the sea from our room was beautiful. The downstairs area was new and furnished well. The breakfast was simple but very nice. Will be returning.

Great location, clean & lovely staff. We stayed in an ensuite room with sea view. I booked through booking.com for a last min get away. I normally go for min of 3 stars, I no idea when I booked it that was a 1 star till I got there which was unbelievable as it was a nice hotel with full bar & snooker table. The staff were very welcoming & friendly & said if we need hair dryer or anything else just let them know. The room was clean with tea & coffee making facilities.

The hotel has a superb location. The rooms were well equipped, clean and tidy. Short walk to anywhere. Friendly staff. Highly recommend a sea view room. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Staffs were friendly. Rooms were noisy when people or kids walk around the corridor. Close to beach. They didn't have a bath tub, just shower on all 3 rooms we booked.

We only needed a room for one night, for 1 teenager & 2 adults and booked this B&B, as the price & location were good. I was a little concerned with some of the reviews, but we decided to make up our own minds. It was a little dated, but it was clean & near the beach. The room was large with dual aspect windows & was comprised with both a single & double bed, pine bedside cabinet, chest of drawers & wardrobe (with no doors)!

There was a TV & kettle with tea & coffee. The ensuite was very clean with complimentary toiletries (soap & shampoo). Both beds had mattress protectors & the bedding & towels were bright white. We didn't eat here, as we wanted to eat out & planned to have our evening meal at a local pub on the esplanade as there was live music & had breakfast at a local beach cafe on the veranda in the sunshine.

This B&B was not bad like some of the reviews & was better than a B&B we stayed at in Bournemouth. Don't be put off by the bad reviews. We would stay here again. I have only given 4/5 stars as it was a little dated & the bed was a little firmer than I like, but my son & husband slept well!
