Incredible place. After reading the reviews on here before our stay, I was unbelievably surprised. The grounds were lovely, the food was great, especially the main evening meals. The gym and pool was amazing - better than most gyms we've been to. The staff were really friendly. The only problem is that the bar staff are very junior, and they hadn't been trained properly to make drinks. They should have been trained better - it's not their fault.

Lovely old country style hotel and golf course. Large comfortable rooms and a well equipped spa and fitness area. Steam room, Jacuzzi and 20m swimming pool more than caters for most hotel guests needs. These facilities are also used by local private members. Food in the restaurant was good but the range of Beers in the bar was limited. Great value for money to considering the discounted deal we used.

I had my wedding at this gorgeous venue and to say it was good is an understatement, I can't believe how much effort went Into making my wedding the best day of my life. The staff are the kindest people ever and anything you ask is never too much. I highly recommend this amazing venue for your weddings it truly Is a great place.

Just had the best 4 nights with my sister at this hotel. Staff are amazing, brilliant facilities. Breakfast was amazing, rooms clean and tidy. Would totally recommend the afternoon tea that we booked for my sisters birthday. I would highly recommend and will most definitely be returning. Five stars fom me x

Nice comfortable hotel / golf course / spa and fitness centre. Reasonable bar price's. Once in the room it was ample for our needs and quiet even though we overlooked the carpark. Easy check in and out procedure. Would book again and make sure to use all the facilities next time.

Great value for money swimming pool, gym. Maybe bit hot in the summer with no AC. I booked a room looking at the pictures thinking that was what I was getting on arrival they gave me a poor room in the basement with poor light, so it cost extra 50 to upgrade so check what you're getting for your money with a phone call. But all in all I'm happy had a great stay.

I did really like it A few problems were the price of the food for how it tasted (I'm a vegetarian so the raw food salad with spicy sauce wasn't the most appealing), so limited options. Very noisy room with kids opposite and difficult to get a blown light bulb fixed by phone or by help from manager. That being said breakfast was so much better than similar golf clubs for the money and the rooms were comfortable and a good size.

Hotel was great and the rooms but the restaurant was to small for the amount of people dining. The bar area / waiting lobby/ reception area was also tiny with hardly any seating and what was available was used for afternoon tea guests. The spa was cute and well maintained. would I stay again. debatable

Stay was via a Virgin Experience voucher. Firstly, everything promised as part of the experience was delivered. Our room was in the old part of the hotel - the room was large and comfortable. The evening meal was of a high standard and all courses tasted great. The beer was good too! Morning breakfast was the standard serve yourself full English or continental.

The staff were attentive and helped with any questions. A few more smiles would have been nice though. A quick swim and use of the jacuzzi the next day was enjoyable and the lady on reception was happy to lend 1 for the locker which made things easier. The surroundings were beautiful and there is a golf course if that's your bag.

We've had a lovely stay here! The leisure facilities are good especially the jacuzzi. Dinner in the evening was top quality - best squid I've had. Leah in the restaurant was very helpful and attentive. Breakfast in the morning was also lovely - it was a standard hotel breakfast buffet and all the food was hot and fresh, the sausages in particular were lovely and moist, I had three of those. Our standard double room was clean and spacious. The building itself could do with some TLC

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding over the summer. The property is huge with a sprawling golf course but the hotel building itself is quite old. Our room was a decent size for a king bed non-smoking room. The hallways are long and there is really only one set of stairs on each side of the lobby leading up to the upper levels and one escalator (that was out of service for part of our stay).

The wedding venue itself was beautiful. it a very well naturally lit room with huge windows to serve as a backdrop to a wonderful ceremony. When we were outside for a champagne reception before dinner however, we did notice that there were many bees or wasps flying about in the lawn area. I'm not sure if anything could've been done to prevent that, but it didn't make us want to stay outside very long.

The main lobby boasts a bar and open seating in addition to the hotel restaurant. If you're into English food (i.e. pickle and cheese sandwiches), there is a variety of things to order from the restaurant menu at the bar. There is a cut off time for those orders and no exceptions to that. The staff was all really friendly and helpful despite how loud our party was being the night after the wedding and reception. They also assisted us in transportation from here to the train station.
