When my grandmother Imogen Skirving opened the doors to her family home 30 years ago, she dreamt that people would feel as yif they had been invited to dinner by a dear friend, she wanted them to feel as if they were in a home from home, with delicious food, wonderful wine & even better company. Quite by accident, Langar Hall became the little country oasis that she had set out to create. Today it is much the same, at the end of an avenue of lime trees, you will find the other world of Langar Hall.

We had lunch at Langar Hall today to celebrate our 45 th anniversary. I have to say everything was just amazing. The staff were first class / the food was outstanding and we even had the sunshine so we could have drinks and coffee afterwards in your beautiful grounds. It was a wonderful experience as always. A big thank you to you all.

Beautiful location, a short drive from Nottingham, a nice break into the countryside for dinner. Some pleasant grounds to meander through. Staff friendly and welcoming, drinks on the lawn followed by a flavorful meal. Some interesting choices, I could have joyfully enjoyed a little more. Candlelit dinner could be a little brighter to enjoy the presentation, I would like to visit again for lunch or afternoon tea perhaps.

An experience, not just a meal out. The house is in an idyllic setting with far reaching views. The small meandering pathways and unusual garden features are worth exploring while you're there. A quirky and memorable house, packed full of features, stunning location and a real hidden gem. You really should go once, and I'm sure you'll return a second and third time, or more.

Langar Hall is owned and run by Imogen Skirving, a wonderful character who makes you feel this is a very elegant home away from home. She's very warm and friendly and lovely to chat to. The history of her family and how they have looked after the hall through the generations is interesting. And all of the staff are as lovely, the service is fantastic, we were doted on.
I stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas with my family and every meal was a delight. I ate locally grown venison, beef, and of course Turkey. The design of the hall and grounds is very lovely with quirky twists and with a big influence from Paul Smith who I understand regularly stays here. I stayed in the Cartland room, named after the Lady in Pink who used to stay here (although there's a photo in the room of her, there's thankfully no bright pink!) Each elegant room is individually designed, and are all really gorgeous.
The public rooms include a lovely conservatory, drawing room, dining room and library, where you can cosy up in front of the fires in winter, or walk out into the beautiful grounds. I couldn't recommend this place more highly, and I and all my family will definitely return - I'm sure again and again.
