Fantastic place for a small break. Friendly staff and warm ambiance. Quite and isolated part of the island, picturesque. Pity the restaurant is not working and you are forced to take the car to go eating.

Beautiful old hotel in a lovely setting by the sea, and a short walk from the Lagg Distillery! We stayed in the Wishing Well Cottage which is self catering and well stocked. Had a nice breakfast a couple of times at the hotel. Limited bus service, no evening meals, nice cafe.

Stayed one night in this wee hotel. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly with the lounge and bar area warm and inviting. Our room was spacious, warm and clean and the four poster gave a wonderful nights rest after a truly wonderful meal and some local drams. We will definitely be visiting again.

I know the owner Peter Bowers from many years ago when there was a few less wrinkles and a lot more hair - on both our heads :). He has always been a hard worker and puts 100% effort into anything he turned his hand to. It was no surprise to me that our (my son was with me on this trip) stay here left us feeling like we were in a 5 star hotel. The location, the welcome, the room, the cuisine, all were on a par and in some cases above some of the more celubrious places I have stayed in the past.

I just have to mention the food again. The food really was excellent. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. If you get to read this Peter my compliments to the chef. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

A group of 8 ladies stayed in The Lagg Hotel for a yoga retreat. The hotel was very comfortable in a great, quiet location. The food was amazing, choice of different dishes every evening and all top quality. Excellent hosts, open fire in the lounge, rooms with en suite, all a great experience and will be coming back

Highly recommend- beautiful location 10 minute walk from the beach (where you can see Ailsa Craig). Family run, super friendly and welcoming. The food was on another level- the Chef is really talented and the menu changes from day to day dependent on locally sourced meats and seasonal produce. Finally, beautiful rooms with stunning views into the garden and the stream outside sings you to sleep at night.

Fantastic room. Called the Garden room. Enormous. Newly decorated with a wet room bath room and a bed you could loose yourselves in. Restaurant was first class. Above your average price range but truly worth every penny. Owners and staff were extremely friendly. There is a cycle cafe on site. It has a great atmosphere and appears to be very popular for the more energetic amongst us.

The Lagg Hotel is a little gem. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, both the lounge and bar are cozy with open fires, the food is amazing (both dinner and breakfast) and the welcome is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and Peter and the team offer the highest standard of service. Highly recommended and a great base from which to explore the beautiful Isle of Arran
