Knockomie sits comfortably in it's surroundings, with 15 rooms and a gastro dining experience. The Inn has developed over the last 30 years under the guidance of Gavin and Penny Ellis, allowing the experience to develop and change with the seasons. Having created a new direction, Knockomie is proud to offer genuine hospitality, in an unstuffy manner, yet focus on the traditions of an innkeeper. You must feel welcome, the food must be wholesome and reflect the local produce on offer from local supplier, and you must leave wanting to return.

I have been ti Knockomie on several occasions but before the pandemic was a special evening but we came away disappointed not only was the food not as good as we remember but the decibel levels where we were sat was unbearable it really was hard to enjoy a family dinner with all the commotion going on they would have been better placed to have the two big and noisy parties in one room and allowed diners a quieter experience in the other sadly not sure I will be running back

Cycling round the area, I decide to stay at Knockomie again, and wasn't disappointed. The team and the hotel were on top form, and made me feel very welcome. All the meals I had were great and a few Drams after dinner made me a little late one morning! Heading up to the coast just a stones throw away, the air is so clean and fresh its like drinking an ice cold glass of water, and with so many places to visit its a cycling nirvana. I had a puncture and needed to do some minor repairs and the owner had a high level bike stand he let me borrow. A great little inn, cant wait to go back.

We stayed at the Knockomie Hotel from May 6th to May 12th. Our experience couldn't have been better. Gavin and Penny, owners of the hotel, made us feel welcome and provided the kind or service that sadly is no longer routine. This hotel is a little quirky, in a good way, and offers a Scottish encounter that is unique and well worthy of anyone hoping to experience the real Scotland. The food is first class and the little bar is absolutely perfect. As for the whisky, well what can I say. I give this establishment my full commendation.

The fine dining menu. we had our wedding reception there 30yrs ago and just recently returned for our 30yr anniversary fine dining meal. what we got wouldn't have fed a sparrow, we also got frozen chips and not home cooked plus the steak had grizzel through it we could have prepared a better meal ourselves. Even thought they were told it was a 30yrs anniversary there was no free glass of wine or champagne. we were most displeased or what we got! and it cost 90.00

Just spend two nights at the Knockomie and cannot recommend it enough, this was our second time here and wont be out last. The Inn itself is beautiful and the building is very quaint with a beautiful bar and. sitting area. The sitting area has games etc for everyone to use. The food is out of this world. What makes the Knockomie is the staff, they are so lovely and attentive and go out of their way to help. The owners are a lovely couple and should be proud of the fantastic enviroment at the Knockomie.

This is a really nice medium sized wedding venue/restaurant/bar/hotel just south of Forres, about a 30 minute walk from the town centre (I know because I walked it on Sunday morning). The staff are very friendly, food is good, and the beer and whisky selection is good too. The only negative is the price, with a bottle of local beer at 5.15 and a half pint of ale 2.50.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff. They have been very helpful and personable and gave us recommendations for places to eat and visit. We have eaten in the restaurant both evenings as the food has been delicious and good value for money. Room is very spacious. 5 stars would have been given but bathroom is a little tired and in need of an upgrade. Would definitely visit again, especially as dog friendly!

It is a gorgeous hotel and has lovely well kept grounds. The dining room, bar, reception and function suite are all very nicely furnished in keeping with the building. The bedrooms are all very different, some thing for everyones taste. It goes from very modern chic designs to 4 posters beds with drapes. The food is great and there is a large selection of whiskies in the library bar. The staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to organising functions.
