All of the 30 en suite bedrooms have the usual gadgets including television, clock radio, hairdryer, shaver point, telephone, iron and ironing board and internet access but each retains its own mark of style and individuality. Bathrooms are marble tiled and some have corner baths. Rooms to the front of the hotel look across the market square whilst several of the other bedrooms are in the roof and have open beams.

Went here for an evening meal, was kept waiting for 5 minutes while 2 staff members seemed to ignore me then was told we don't do walk ins despite the place having few people in the restaurant. In the end did have a meal, which was okay nothing special. Staff had personal mobiles and noticed were on these during service, staff failed to bring half of my dessert. Left feeling underwhelmed by the Kings Head Hotel.

This is a lovely bar and seating area bit they need to get rid of the dogs. I love dogs I have 2 myself however people are letting them sit on the seats, they feed them at the tables etc, the last thing I want is someone else's drooling dog watching me eat my meal. Can understand pubs etc but not here.

I went here with eleven friends for dinner and everything was perfect. The staff, food, decor, cleanliness, all excellent, even to the point of printing off each person's meal choice. You know how easy it is to forget what you'd ordered! A slight problem is that the car park is for residents only not dinner guests. So unless you visit on a Sunday when the market square parking is free it may be difficult to park near the hotel. Overall a must to visit!

Appologies for this post, because the King's Head Hotel is a great venue for an evening meal and drinks. Unfortunately we didn't feel welcome on this visit. Appreciate we only called in for a couple of drinks and light bite. Hope our next visit will be much more akin to your normal standard of service.
