This is a great location with perfect views. As an ex restaurant manager for the last 14 years the service here is abysmal to say the least. No great and seat finally seated and left for 15 minutes no menu given. I had to go and find someone 3 staff round the corner just standing! Finally had an order taken another 2 tables arrived both sitting for at least 15 minutes 1 gentleman again had to go and find someone to serve.
I had to ask for my bill and while paying I mentioned to the server that the 2 ladies had been waiting for 20 minutes for someone to go over. Where was your duty manager controlling your restaurant? It wasn't even busy I dread to think what your service is like when it is!

It's a nice hotel in a lovely position next to the beach. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was very nice. The pool and spa area was closed during my visit due to refurbishment and this should have been mentioned on the home page of the website. I also don't think it deserves a 4 star rating if these facilities are not available.

Just returned from afternoon tea for 10 celebrating my mother in law's 80th Birthday. I can't rate our experience highly enough. Delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones with lashings of jam and cream. Impeccable service and lovely touches which made my mother in law feel very special.such as being presented with a glass of champagne and also a bottle of champagne from a lovely lady who told us she lives just down the road and came over to say Happy Birthday towards the end of our tea. a lovely surprise! Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend and we will be back again soon. We decided to treat ourselves with a few cocktails too.they were fabulous.

Lovely place. Nice location on the sea front. The rooms are comfortable and clean. They are in the process of refurbishing every room. The pool and gym are currently closed due to refurbishment. Resteraunt/food very good and had a few veggie and vegan options. Breakfast very good. Staff friendly, parking on site.

I have never stayed overnight, but have in the distant past had meals there. Today I was passing, so had a cup of tea, outside of the main building. This hotel is very well situated, on the edge of the beach at Cooden, and a stones throw from Cooden Beach Station. At today it was basking in bright winter sunshine, so at its best.

Miserable. We had booked a sea view room for my birthday in early January. When we got there we found there was no hot water. We were told that the hotel had been having problems with the boiler. If that was so they should never have rented out the room. We had booked the day before. Reception suggested we walk to a family room for a bath that evening and the following morning! Getting any sort of discount was like squeezing blood from a stone.
My husband had to speak to 6 members of different levels of " management" who eventually and grudgingly offered a 50% discount. Quite a disgusting experience. Bitterly cold outside and no hot water to bathe. My husband had to boil the kettle to shave. Staff defensive and surely. The room itself ( and this was one of their sea view rooms) in a very poor state of repair.
The plastic head board above the bed ( yes plastic!) was loose and rattled. The bathroom shower fitment had a big hole next to it on the wall. The bath unit had come away from the wall and the grouting along the floor was filthy. Very poorly decorated. The lights in the bedroom cannot be individually switched off - it is all or nothing. The switch is not by the bed but by the door.
The TV is on the wall but for some unexplained reason has not been centred but goes a third across a window. All a bit like a third rate guest house. The cooked breakfast was good

Having often eaten here over the last two years when family visit I was really disappointed tonight as the menu has been slashed. No Hot Stone Steak, no sourdough mini loaf, chicken skewers no longer Cajun & grilled, now baked and mushy. Overall the food is just bang average now whereas it's was superb before. The staff were as normal fantastic but they are massively let down by management decisions.

We had a beautiful wedding here at the Cooden Beach Hotel in November 2021. We had to reschedule it once due to Covid. Jenny (Hotel manager), and her staff were incredible. Very professional, a great energy about them and did an amazing job from the moment we came to view the hotel and discuss everything, right up until the big day. The hotel is a stunning place to get married if you want to be by the sea, with great views from the hotel.
The staff are friendly, professional and made everything run smooth from start to finish. There was nothing to fault. It made our day perfect, as we had nothing to chase up on/worry about at any time. Thank you Jenny and the Cooden Beach Hotel staff!

I had never been to this hotel before and decided to pop in for a pint while in the area. I am a wheelchair user, so am hesitant, but needn't have been. Very easy access through main entrance, then indoors through to bar and restaurant area as ramps are in place. Accessible toilet facilities too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The restaurant area and bar is very spacious, light and airy. There is a great selection of foods and drinks, from three main menus, more relaxed bar menus, lunch and snacks menus and the more fancy options for the main restaurant area. Prices for each seem reasonable and I have returned since my first visit, and intend to again.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, fantastic views of the sea, friendly staff but could be slightly more attentive at clearing plates as not everyone has three hours to eat lunch. Gorgeous delicious food.top prices but the food is well worth it and presentation. Have also had afternoon tea which is a marvellous experience.just as good as London.

I was quite sad that the spa facilities weren't open as this was one of my main reasons to visit. It would've been helpful if the information was updated on their website. Also asked the hotel to make my stay special as it was my wedding anniversary but nothing extra had been done which was disappointing. The staff were friendly. Location was very good.

We dined in the restaurant for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We treated ourselves to the 'Surf and Turf' which was excellently executed. The steak cooked to perfection and the lobster tail, succulent, plenty of it and beautifully seasoned. The sauce was great too. The service was very attentive and prompt. Well done - we will be back! The dining room decor is a bit 'dull'' but has lovely views of the sea.
