Booked a king-size room with breakfast and spa access for me and my wife's wedding in May 2022. We arrived in the evening to go to our room to find someone in it! We were told that they were fully booked, then put into a twin bed room once they had 'found' a room. We did not have complementary access to the spa or breakfast in the morning. Have since sent an email to complain about 4 weeks ago and had a pitiful response 2 weeks afterwards.

We replied at that point and still waiting for a response. Truly a terrible experience and would not recommend a stay here for anybody due to the lack of competency and care given by the staff, particularly for our wedding day. EDIT 02/06/22 - Having been into the hotel this morning to discuss the matter with the operation manager, I do feel slightly more at ease and feel I have now received a satisfactory response. Whilst I still received a truly sub-par experience, the way the complaint had been dealt with (after the lack of communication) by Bruno was honest and professional.

I had a Business trip visit here. First impressions on the outside it looks dated and tired, but inside it is very modern. Room was nice and it had biscuits and little bottles of soap which is something that a lot of hotels have stopped. It was a large bed and spacious tidy modern room with a bath so I was happy. The food and bar was free so I cannot comment on pricing but it was okay.

Breakfast again was okay with a good selection. The hotel backs onto the Thames which gives it a little bit of extra appeal. Overall I would stay again but not at my own expense I'll let my company pick up the bill. The creepy pictures on the wall above the bed were the only gripe I had, shadowy figures peering over me as I slept lol.

This hotel is much less pampered and modern than the website would have you believe. The rooms and the hotel in general could do with a freshening up but also robes and slippers given you have a spa would be a nice touch. The staff were polite, which is a plus. Would visit again for work, not for a weekend away.

A very nice hotel with some rooms having a view of the River. The junior sweet is large with separate bed room and living space. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The balcony is great in the suite to sit, relax and look at the river. To get in to Reading is about 5 to 10 minutes walk.

Awesome place to have some time away from home and work life, location is ideal if you are travelling by train or car. Offers great service, good food, reasonable price and friendly staff. We got the service with breakfast and it's all great as well. Enjoyed sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool. We paid for full body treatment massage. The walk from the back of the hotel is lovely and it connects well to where your are, spacious carpark as well. Room we stayed in is clean and well maintained and have no complaints. Worth the money, had great time here.

I had to change rooms because the heating in my room stopped working. This was only after demanding a different room when a large plug in electric heater was forced on me. There was also water damage around the light in the entrance to room (222), which surely is a safety hazard. Apart from this, the room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel is situated in picturesque surroundings. My experience here definitely made me not want to return.

Pleasant place to stay dispite the uncomfortable bed and slightly cramped family room. It's within walking distance to Reading train station and town centre which is what we wanted so perfect for that. The swimming pool was ok different timing slots for children under 12 the changing facilities are small but clean. Food was good but slow service. Staff friendly and helpful. Secure parking which is free of charge.

I stayed here after nights in other CP's. This is far better than the other two in the same region. The room is a little dated and tatty, but nothing worth worrying about. The TV was a nice 4K one - couldn't get the chromecast to work; however, I brought my own Fire Stick and it worked perfectly including easy connection to the WiFi. I'm Platinum Elite and wasn't told I got an upgrade, so I did have to ask later at reception who told me it was an Executive room we'd been given. Toiletries were mismatched and not from any brand I'd heard of before. Pillows were very good and the mattress superb.

No bathrobes were available due to a maintenance issue (broken washing machine?). Housekeeping were very happy to offer more towels instead and apologetic about the issue. Dinner was really tasty and the menu is well varied. We had 3 courses included in the room rate, which was definitely worth it. The bar and restaurant team were very helpful and had some jokes to share with us.

The spa is open to the public so there were a lot of folks using it, including children but were well behaved and not an issue. The facilities were well looked after and staff courteous around the Spa. Breakfast was a slight disappointment as the fresh juice was actually squash; the charcuterie was limited, as were the pastries; and no strawberry jam.

The team here again were polite and nothing was too much trouble. During the evening my partner spilt a drink on the bed so we needed a new duvet cover. Reception were brilliant at providing this and we swapped the linen over ourselves. (Other CP's can't even do pillows after 9pm). Stefi and Jan on reception delivered exceptional service and I'd like to say next time I'm in Berkshire I'll be using this hotel for sure.

Stayed in a double room on Saturday to Sunday which was nice and clean. Hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast was really nice. But unfortunately there was another hotel guest on our floor that was constantly shouting and swearing at somebody. We could hear it from the other end of the corridor. We were also kept awake until 2:30am by the guests above us making loud crashing sounds and music which went on for hours. I did try to call reception but nobody answered. The hotel and staff are lovely but I went away to relax not be surrounded by chaos.
