Hillside Hotel is an independently owned and operated hotel where the focus is on a genuinely warm welcome, attention to detail and a high level of personal service. Our aim is to provide a friendly 'home from home' atmosphere, value and a refreshing alternative to the impersonal feel of some larger hotels. Hillside is located in the village of Worplesdon, approximately 4 miles from the cobbled high street of Guildford and Woking.
Both have thriving business communities and excellent shopping, cultural and entertainment facilities. The Hotel is equally well situated for the business or recreational visitor whether for a short break or long stay.

This lovely little hotel has the charm of family ownership. A great location towards Guildford train station and essentially the city centre adds to the attractivity. The breakfast was quite pricey but the quality was impeccable. I had the smallest room category with my bathroom and shower a few meters down the carpeted hallway. A little confused by the service lady regarding who ordered which breakfast was quickly resolved and it was clear they care about their guests.

This hotel is a glorified bed and breakfast. Small room, no fridge, lack of 24hr staff, no food except the dinner menu. The smell of the kitchen permeates the whole building (thank god I didn't eat the night before because whatever was being made the next day smelt vile). Would never stay here again, you're better off at a premier inn.

I was booked here by my employer. Was a very pleasant stay; rooms well decorated and fitted, good heating (I had to turn the radiator off completely, it was so efficient), nice breakfast. 10 minute walk into central Guildford/train station. Staff very helpful and hardworking. My only feedback point would be heated mirrors in the bathroom; mine fogged up completely after a shower. Would stay again.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Similarly to other reviewers on here, I had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstances and neither would they refund the money nor would they transfer the booking to a later date. Also, I would advise others looking to book beforehand at this hotel to look at their 'cancellation policy' which is no sort of one at all and is only within a week of the actual booking. Consequently, if booking within a week of having to stay there, which probably happens a lot when people have to make last minute bookings, it is the same as paying up front, so no last minute cancellation policy in effect here at all.
They also have a 'no cash' policy here as well as a bizarre practice of shutting reception (and therefore, to all intents and purposes, the hotel) at 10 pm and guests who arrive late have to fumble around a car park in the dark looking for their key in a key safe. Precisely why I normally stick to chain hotels but thought would give this one a go! Ignore rave reviews on here and avoid like the plague, would be my advice! We are 112 worse off because of this place and nothing to show for it!

I cannot fault the service and experience at this hotel. I stayed in a deluxe room at the back of the hotel for 4 nights. I didn't have dinner there, making use of the great location to walk into Guildford each night for food but I did have breakfast each morning. From the clean room with en-suite and a desk for work to the honesty bar and really lovely breakfast, Caroline and the rest of the team make sure you have everything you need. If I find myself in Guildford for work again I will definitely pick this hotel and the same type of room.

Gorgeous building, extremely clean and well laid out. Got a lovely welcome on arrival and shown to our double room. Room was spot on. Clean, really well decorated and the shower was excellent. There's an outside area to relax in that was lovely in the sun and we really appreciated the honesty bar. Would definitely recommend if you're staying in the area. We were only there for one night but would happily visit again. Aug 2021

This is an excellent small hotel. The rooms are compact but extremely well fitted out. Comfy beds and awesome bathrooms. Best hotel showers I've ever used! Breakfast is limited in scope but high quality and the cooked breakfast is very good. The evening menu is short and the food takes 30-40 mins, but good. People are friendly and helpful.

Very nice, little hotel. My single room with a twin bed was small, but well laid out and fine for an overnight. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower strong and hot. I don't recall what I paid but remember thinking it was reasonable and included breakfast. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Guildford.
