Lovely accommodating staff. Parking excellent. Nice soft mattresses. I understand times are tough, but a lick of paint and some grout would be a nice addition to the rooms. Otherwise ace.

Room 26 has the most uncomfortable bed of any hotel I've slept in (twin room). Locking system rubbish, your phone will wipe it and they'll blame you, not the system. No USB charging points. Otherwise staff friendly and helpful, water scalding hot, everything very clean.

Unfortunately owing to an error on my part and some very poor customer service I never got to stay at this hotel. There was an error in booking which led to rooms being booked on the wrong day (on the night I was booking rather than for the day I had searched for) and the hotel manager flatly refused to transfer them to the day required. Eventually after some negotiation he offered me a 50% discount on the rooms if I rebooked them.

I declined. Hands up, it was my error, but the lack of understanding and flexibility and the suggestion that he would have been able to sell all three rooms between 10pm (when I pressed book) and 12pm that night and thus that my error had cost him potential revenue was implausible at best. I'm not sure what the travelling trade is in Coalville at 10pm at night, but I'm pretty sure rarely if ever do three families come in from the street in that window of time! Illustrates that bottom line and money are the key drivers not customer service.

Guy on reception was rude and patronising. The rooms are very dated. The bedlinen was stained and the toilet struggled to flush. Only one night and never again

Absolutely terrible experience. Not sure where to begin - First of all when entering in late evening a staff member is very creepy, giving very weird looks, unprofessional and rude service. The beds contained bedbugs, when raising this to staff members, they say "you probably bought this yourself", ignoring my concerns. Had to argue to get another room, when given another room noticed more bed bugs. No running hot water Rooms are dusty, and stains on bedsheets.

We had Christmas Lunch at the Hermitage Park Hotel with our elderly, disabled mother and I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff for making the event pleasurable and easy. You were so kind and thoughtful and also jolly on this special day when you were also working. Everything was done to make sure we had a suitable table. There is spacious, flat access. The chef was excellent, with every item of the Christmas Lunch cooked to perfection and dietary needs catered for. Many thanks.

This place has come up trumps on two very sad occasions for me and my family. By putting on an excellent bereavement receptions for both my parents. Would highly recommend this service. Thank you all at the Hermitage Park Hotel.

Was put off originally. The paintwork on the main entrance door looked like that of a battered secondary school. However, whatever this place lacked in style it more than made up for by the warmth and friendliness of the staff. I normally prefer B&Bs to hotels, since hotels can be so anonymous. I did not feel anonymous at the Hermitage Park Hotel.

Large bedroom with t making, TV, comfy bed and very clean. Decor could do with updating and en suite a little cramped with a bath included with shower over. BUT, for the price it's a comfortable stay and good breakfast included. Would definitely stay hear again.
