Came to stay a few weeks back. Very disappointed, room was tiered, carpets lifting and stretched. Dirty stains on dressing table chair, entrance flooring scuffed and nets hanging off pole. On a positive location was good.

I booked a room through booking.com for a day. I checked in on 1 June 2022 and checked out on 2 June 2022. When I check-in I paid 72.28 including the parking charge. Check-in took a little bit of extra time that I can understand during rush hour. There was a trainee and she was try to learn and she was good and show me the parking entrance which is the back entrance.

Can't complain about her. I check-out on 02 June 2022, I handover the keycard to the receptionist and I asked for an invoice. Suddenly I got a notification from my Bank that Dragon Hotel that charged me 63.28. I told the receptionist I already paid 72.28 on 01 June 2022 when I check-in and I showed her my bank transaction history so why did you charged twice.

She asked her senior colleague and they told me that they will issue a refund. After that, I contact customer service through Booking.com and send them my bank statement. got a reply from them that already issued a refund. Waited a few days no refund was made by the hotel. Again contact to hotel and funny reply that The matter has been passed onto our head office who are investigating further.

Still haven't received my refund. I'm really disappointed and never got the worst customer service. I work for a business and deal with accounts, I know to issue a refund is a less a minute job. Finally, how could they charge 63.28 and still didn't issue a refund? I wait so long to leave a negative review. whoever books this hotel please check your bank statement.

Just got back from a stay there with a large group of my golfing friends and have to say I was very disappointed overall. On the plus side it was very quiet so no problem with parking and the staff I met were very polite and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy. On the negative side I would say they are very short staffed and the hotel in general looks very tired.

The lift was broken, the pool was closed, the bar was a joke! no beer no cider and nothing in fridge to choose from either as it had broke. Coffee machine at breakfast had broke, toaster machine stopped working. There were other small things to. We've stayed here a couple of times before and been completely satisfied but now when we return in a couple of years time I've a feeling we will be looking elsewhere. Shame as in a prime position with a lot to offer.

Swimming pool closed indefinitely, no notification. 1 lift broken, apparently for a month. Rooms are badly in need of a deep clean and very dated. The staff were literally running around at breakfast time, they were brilliant and the food was nice. But the young receptionist could not have been less helpful. They also charged us for hotel parking and then on the second night there was no where to park in their carpark as it was full. Room was so dirty, I was so disappointed. Not down to staff, as they never stopped, would not recommend and will never go again.

My wife and I booked the Dragon Hotel for this coming Saturday a while ago. The price couldn't be faulted and the rooms looked superb. I had an email from Booking.com earlier this morning suggesting that the hotel had been cancelled, no reasons were given and the email looked a little bit suspicious so I contacted the hotel directly to ask them to confirm - they advised that we were still booked in and there was no issue their end and were looking forward to our visit.

As time went by, I received 2 or 3 more emails confirming the trip had been cancelled but again, the emails all looked suspicious. Then, about an hour ago I received a notification from the Booking.com app confirming that the booking had indeed been cancelled. I contacted the hotel who simply said "oh yeah we were told this morning that there'd been some cancellations but I'd not been told why".

No apology, no explanation and now my wife and I have got to look for another hotel at ridiculously short notice. Absolutely shocking and would highly recommend people never book this hotel!

They cancelled my booking with absolutely no explanation. 8 of us had taken time off work to go to Swansea for Christmas and now it has been ruined. I booked months in advance, but was only told with 12 days notice that they 'could no longer honour' the booking. We are absolutely stuffed now.

I got a very nice room, in a highest floor, quiet and spacious. Breakfast is a little too short of options (maybe due Corona times.), and I did not see the pool. But the people working there are very welcoming.

Not too chuffed with our long weekend, booked a suite expecting to have a sofa or couple of chairs with a telly, didn't expect the suite area to be made up as kids bedroom, with no telly in that room. Room temp was fixed at 19' no local control to increase it. Windows started 5' from the floor and looked out on the extraction system of the kitchen.

I could be here writing things all day but I'll let the photos I've posted do all the talking for me. What a vile disgusting hotel this is it's absolutely filthy and considering we're in a pandemic they should be ashamed of themselves. Will never ever stay here again.

The reception desk was very kind. Checking in and out was quick and the stay was pleasant. The room could have been brighter. There wasn't much light. For the price the room was just fine. Right next to the street, but it was quite while the windows were closed

Awful- a key was given out for our room so we were awoken at some point between 4-5am by someone trying to push our door open and only stopped when with his arm though the door, we maganaged to push it shut. It was lucky we had the safely lock on! When we told reception about it they promised to pass it on to management, but they didn't and despite my partner contacting them several times they did nothing. Awful customer service and the room was filthy. They also didn't know how someone had got a copy of the key. Very scary.

At the moment I could only rate it 2 to 3. Possibly due to early days after lockdowns! No lounge as it was being refurbished due to damaged ceiling. No wine available to buy for evening meal as bars had been burgled over weekend. Staff did then make an effort to go out and buy some for subsequent evenings. Limited choice of evening meals but quality was good.

Dining experience did improve after first night. Breakfast very good. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Cleaning lady was very good. Not that it was necessary for me but there was no water in swimming pool initially. Those leisure facilties were not available during our visit. Would like to think it is just teething troubles after lockdown. Hotel is in a perfect location which was great for us during our visit.

We booked four double rooms and all were given on the second floor which was fine, but when we got to open one of the rooms it was still not vacated so how can we be given electronic keys to get into a room that's already occupied? Second key given to us, the room door didn't open so once again second visit down to reception. Third room was not even ready but we were given it without being checked.

So now two rooms got shifted to the fifth floor. Coming to my room no light working or phone in room working so moved to sixth floor third visit to reception. Service overall needs to improve and rooms need to be checked before given to the next guests then these problems wouldn't happen. I think lack of management and lack of training. Let's hope our breakfasts are good. Phone system needs updating and I'm willing to train the management and staff how to successfully run the organisation with no complaints from guest about their rooms.

Nice hotel but limited service at the time of visit. Needs a little more updating. Staff were nice, spacious rooms, very impressed with the layout and space available but was disappointed as a key need of my family was not met, thus the 3 star rating.

Started off to a bad start (hence the 3 stars) however the staff were very kind and all issues were resolved. The gym was nice - it's a shame the pool was closed as it looked nice too. The breakfast was alright - good selection and tasty ingredients - but nothing special. At first there was an issue with cleanliness, but that was all sorted out and overall I enjoyed my stay!

I was in the restaurant yesterday morning and there is no way the young girls were rude to anyone, they were working really hard to serve everyone. We had our daughters wedding there and it was brilliant all the staff were excellent and did a cracking job, Especially Courtney, Shannon and Kayleigh. Yes the place is dated but they been through a rough 18 months and plans are in place for things to change. Well done everyone would highly recommend to hold your wedding here

Stains on the carpet and on the chair, ceiling had water stains. However, staff were lovely. Our lights were not working, toilet and shower head broke. Not a lavish place to stay for a 4* hotel expected it be more clean and modern

This hotel was recommended to me (us) as being a good hotel in Swansea but expensive. So we decided to go the whole hog and get a suite (it wasn't "expensive" by big city standards - so why not?). It wasn't dirty, but it was dingy, old with no view (rooftop) from the room. The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation basically. Look at the pic of the carpets in our "suite" - worn, rucked up and trip hazard - really?

Look at the dingy second room in our suite - not inviting at all We couldn't open the curtains to let light in because there were person or people working on the roof immediately outside at times throughout our stay. The bed was comfortable enough to sleep but the room/suite offered none of the expected comforts to tempt you to work, snuggle up or relax when you weren't sleeping.

There are two elevators but they are very tiny - three people maximum and if you are a couple and have more than one suitcase (as we did) you will need to make two trips. Parking was adequate but it gets very tight (on the weekend night I had to go out and run "an errand" in the hopes of there being a slot for me when I got back (there was but only because I parked in the Tesla charging space. naughty boy).

The road outside was under major construction during our visit making things extra difficult. Nothing in terms of inviting shops or restaurants close by unfortunately I wouldn't want to stay here again but it sufficed. Review # 59 2019

For starters there are 7 floors and 2 tiny elevators- 3 people max at a time. We came with a large touring group & the line to use the elevators was excruciating even with loading suitcases and sending 1 person to drop them at the required floor. Be advised that for some reason these cities pretty much shut down at 17:00 and you're left with bars, pubs, and American chains after that.

There is a very large TV in the room. Our room had an awful view, but I'm not going to be staring out the window. The area around the hotel gets dicey within a few blocks- nothing compared to areas of LA, but it ruins the expectations of being in a seaside city. As I write that I'm thinking of some areas of Venice beach and Santa Monica. Wifi is fine. Staff should acquaint themselves with local tourist attractions. If you're going to advertise proximity to these places, familiarize yourself with directions and hours.

Very happy with my stay here, from start to finish! It began with them allowing me to check in early, which meant I could grab a swim in their nice pool, before heading out to my afternoon plans. The next morning I was able to slowly emerge from my slumbers in my pretty compact room, watching some cricket on Sky, before using the powerful shower to really wake up.

I really love the shutters in the room, they add to the appearance. Some people might complain about the size of the room, those that want to play swingball or build a canoe in there. They should stay elsewhere. The hotel is not very attractive from the outside, but it is what's inside that counts and there it looks good and has much charm. Not a small bed and breakfast either, so you can remain relatively anonymous if you don't feel chatty.

A great central location. Very helpful events staff. A great place for a reception after a funeral. The buffet menus are tasty and well priced.

Ate in the Dragon Brasserie. The food was lovely. This place is a real surprise, although quite pricey the food was delicious. They do a lunchtime menu For 10 which is also lovely. Would recommend.

Large spacious family room with separate room with sofa bed. bed comfortable but only 1 pillow per person. Hotel parking was available whenever we entered but is dependent upon other guests parking. Very centrally located for shops, restaurants. It might tick all the boxes for a 4 star hotel - it doesn't quite feel like it. Might be the staff that are variable in their friendliness/helpfulness.

Might be the breakfasts which were better at a premier inn for half the cost and kids go free. Still the swimming pool was a real bonus and not busy when we used it. They also accepted tesco vouchers, without which we would never have stayed.

I stayed, well. a more appropriate term might be 'lived', in the Dragon Hotel for just over 2 months while consulting in the UK. If your travels are taking you through Swansea, I strongly recommend looking into this hotel! The facilities and location are decent. the property is roughly a 3 block walk from 'wind street' - Swansea's dining/nightlife district.

The staff while I was staying there was absolutely top notch. Vivian, Sam, Kristy, and Sean at the front desk. and also Dean, Nathan, Jake, and Sam in the restaurant. They all went above and beyond and took care of this yanks every need! I have many great stories about this place. I had missed my companies holiday party back in the US due to my travels.

No worries - when the staff of the Dragon Hotel held their holiday party in late January, they extended me an invitation! I had an excellent time! On one occasion, a pair of jeans from my laundry went missing and I had planned on wearing them that Friday evening. one of the assistant managers personally drove to the place that does the hotels dry cleaning and found them for me. despite it being the dry cleaners mistake.

The food in the brassier was without question the best I had during my time in Swansea. They always did up a fresh menu with new choices, typically 4 to 6 choices for each of appetizer, entree, and dessert. and an inclusive price of 2 courses for 15GBP, or all 3 courses for 20GBP. On my last night in Swansea I asked for them to surprise me with something off-menu. the chef came out and asked me several questions about meat/flavor preferences, as well as restrictions/allergies, and then proceeded to prepare one of the best meals I've ever eaten. If you're doing breakfast be sure to try the salmon and scrambled eggs.

This is a review of the Dragon's leisure club, I was a member a few years ago when the hotel was still part of the Holiday Inn group but recently had a trial with the leisure club with the thought of rejoining. The leisure club consists of a nice but smallish swimming pool, with separate male and female saunas(their entrances are through the changing rooms) and a rather small gym area. It's a nicely laid out gym but a little bit limited with only being a small space so if it's a busy time there can be queues for gym equipment.

The best thing about being a member of the Dragon vs other leisure clubs is the huge fluffy white towels that are available to all members, saving on washing! Parking is limited, though there is a hotel car park it does fill up at times. Prices have gone up over the years and it isn't competitive when compared to the facilities at the Village and Swansea LC.
