Eddrachilles Hotel is a independent, owner-operated, Highland hotel on the coast of NW Sutherland, suitable for peaceful staycations, Far North adventures. Built originally as a Church of Scotland manse, the hotel has gorgeous views over the island-studded Badcall Bay and beyond to the rugged Assynt coastline. In one of our last wildernesses on the UK mainland, Eddrachilles Hotel is a haven of good food, comfortable accommodation and traditional, generous Highland hospitality. To ensure guests have a relaxing and tranquil holiday, we operate the hotel, restaurant and grounds exclusively for use by the hotel's resident guests.

Services
Eddrachilles Hotel offers a comfortable retreat, somewhere to relax, unwind & recharge. We pride ourselves on traditional Highland hospitality with thoughtful extra touches to make your stay just a little more special. Each bedroom has ensuite facilities and can comfortably accommodate two people. However they are not suitable for an additional bed.
In the original manse the hotel's main lounge would have been separated into three rooms: the family dining room; the formal parlour and the minister's study where learned sermons for the good parishioners were penned. Today it's a relaxing place with comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove, open fireplaces at either end (both in use) and a well stocked bar.
Given the remote locations, it is not surprising that internet connections at Eddrachilles Hotel are slower than those experienced in UK cities or suburbs. We have invested in our own fibre optic line and there is free WiFi in all bedrooms and most public areas e.g. The internet speeds should allow you to receive and send emails or browse social media.
At Eddrachilles our culinary approach is to provide a "taste of the north", a delicious combination of Scottish ingredients, classic skills and contemporary techniques. Our local Highland larder provides us with shellfish caught in the Bay which borders the hotel's garden and game from the surrounding moors.

We stayed for one night whilst touring the NC500 (plus a bit extra). Of all the hotels we stayed at (including the Three Chimneys on Skye) this was the best combination of character, food, wine and cost by a country mile. The room wasn't huge, but it was big enough and really comfortable, the afternoon tea was a real treat, dinner was superb (pro tip - look at the bin ends list.
We had the best bottle of the holiday for over 100 less than the next best bottle - it was about 25 for a premier cru Burgundy, which is delightfully nuts nowadays) and the take away apple-and-chocolate-biscuit box for walking fuel on departure sums up this little place's detailed approach to guests enjoying their stay. The team deserve every success, we couldn't recommend it more highly!

A five star staff with five star setting and five star food. And did I mention that they like dogs? There's attention to detail: towels to wipe a dog's feet as you enter, complimentary scones, the interesting selection of books and ornaments. There's the attention staff give you, checking how your day has been, checking that everything is there that you need.
There's the food - heaven - where did they find that cook? But all this in the best of Sutherland settings. There're the wind chimes sounding across the well kept grounds as you look across the bay. There's the superb range of whisky.

We stayed here half way through our NC 500 camping trip for a break. Perfect place, lovely stay. We had forgotten they offer complimentary cream tea in the afternoon so that was a lovely surprise. We had a beautiful dinner too. They are well equipped for dogs and have a lovely little garden to walk around. Breakfast was also lovely. As you would expect rooms were clean beds were comfy, no complaints at all.staff were very friendly. If we find ourselves up on the North Coast again im sure we would stay. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at Eddrachillies. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and well stocked with teas, coffees and lovely Hebridean soap products. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options. We were allowed to bring our dog and it was great to be somewhere so dog friendly, with walks available in the grounds. Lovely little touches were made, such as complementary tea and cakes on arrival and an 'out and about' box (featuring an apple and caramel wafer - much appreciated on our mountain climb that day!) Our only niggle was how hot the room was at night, but it was a particularly warm day, so I'm not sure this could have been helped!

My only regret is that we didn't stay longer but that'll be fixed soon I hope. From the minute we arrived the calm and tranquility took effect. A wonderful, friendly team, lots of really nice touches, teas, coffees, lunch packs. Well stocked snug bar and a conservatory with amazing views over the bay. Excellent dinner and breakfast. And heaven just dangling feet in the mirror calm loch before breakfast listening to the bird life.

If you can, get a room with a view of the bay - one of the prettiest in Scotland! The hotel was comfortable and the room as one would expect at a hotel in this category. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is good and uses fresh local ingredients where possible. A very good place to stay on the NC500.
