We stayed here over the bank holiday, have to say the hotel was exactly what we needed and perfect value. The staff/owner was super nice, the breakfast was a good size to get us started each day and we were always offered extra toast with our full English. Free onsite parking was very convenient and the location just 5 min walk from the centre of Ryde is perfect, we were able to drive to all the '"touristy" spots in the isle of wight in under 30 mins. Appley beach is very close and offers a nice sandy beach.
The room was a good size with comfy bed and lots of storage, very clean as well and for a 2 night stay our room was still turned over so much appreciated. Only small improvement would be the temperature on the showers, they were super hot so have to be careful managing the heat level. Also the cat was lovely definitely a highlight.

Very friendly staff and a great breakfast would have been 5 stars but the room and building are in need of some modernisation. We stayed in room 30 and we couldn't have a shower as the pressure was virtually none existent and the water was either freezing or scolding. The location is great and very close to the town and the beach.

I was a bit disappointed with the room but manager moved me to another room so was happy. Breakfast was good. The only downside was the creaking floorboards upstairs from people moving around. Good location has a steep hill but you can get a bus to more or less outside the hotel. Friendly staff and clean

Great stay and wonderful service. I was very happy with our room, especially considering the price. Two minor gripes: 1) The toilet seat in our bathroom would randomly slam shut when it was open - a bit of an unfortunate risk :( 2) The breakfast could have have been better. Choice of fruit was prunes or slices of grapefruit in a big tub - I would have liked something fresh.
The English was ok, however the scrambled or fried eggs both really could have been cooked with some basic seasoning to make them less plasticky. Overall though, it was a very comfy and friendly place to stay. Thanks for having us. Would recommend!

We had 2 nights at the Dorset Hotel last week and would definitely stay again. Outside seating area. Bicycle area. Car park. Lovely breakfasts with unlimited tea/coffee. Nice relaxing atmosphere there. Hotel bar with comfy seating area. The proprietor/staff were all very nice and helpful. Very handy location close to: restaurants, pubs, sea, passenger fastcats & hovercrafts, shops, buses to many of the island's areas.
