Cubley Hall Hotel & Restaurant

Stayed for one night as a lady on my own. Staff were exceptionally nice, welcoming and very helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. All in all, excellent value and THE BEST scrambled eggs l have ever had. The burger was also lovely and cooked to perfection.

Arrived and checked in to room 12 quickly and efficiently by a member of staff. Came back down for evening meal Sunday dinner, which was delicious. Bed was really soft, far too soft for me, but that's personal choice (or the bed had seen better days). Shaver charger socket on the mirror was broken, which was disappointing. Bathroom radiator had no thermostat valve and was uncomfortably red hot, so I had to turn off the water supply to the radiator with the other valve.

This was dripping very slightly. Breakfast was a full English, with hot and cold drinks supplied. Just like the evening meal this was delicious. Lovely grounds and views of the countryside. Would consider staying here again in the future.

My eldest son had his wedding here on the 30th April 2022. Lovely lovely place. Great food. Brilliant staff. Well worth a visit for scenic views and great choice of food.

Beautiful hotel, in gorgeous grounds. The room we stayed in was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Lovely bed. The breakfast was delicious, and a good choice. All of the staff were lovely, and went above and beyond to accommodate what we asked for. Excellent service. And the Cubley Pie we had for the evening meal in the restaurant was the best pie we have ever tasted.

Stayed two nights, very comfortable room excellent food. The staff were all professional and very helpful. One thing I didn't enjoy was the volume of the music which started at 7:00 a.m! I'd recommend Cubley Hall to anyone staying in the area.

We've eaten at Cubley Hall several times over the last 12 months and it's been brilliant every time. The food is lovely and the staff very polite and helpful. We went for breakfast this morning. It was very tasty, excellent value for money, and the young gentleman who served us was really attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Celebrated my dads 90th birthday here and its a lovely place. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the meat the turkey was delicious, but the ham and beef were fatty and tough. The rest of the food was really nice.

Lovely place, decent food, helpful and pleasant staff, nice room, good breakfast, great atmosphere. Only negative point was the debris on the carpet and mess on the table tops in some areas which for the sake of a 5 minute vacuum and wipe over would have moved the place up a notch. And lastly a preference for me would be not to have 1970's white marble Formica table tops throughout, it looked at odds with everything else and left me thinking upmarket Weatherspoons, which is unfair because it is nicer but the impression is there. Yes I would go again as good staff always make a good stay.

Stayed there last night. Not my usual place but I am glad I did. Hotel room was on small side but perfect for an overnight business stay. Food was lovely, beers were good also. Breakfast very tasty. The price very competitive and staff friendly. Will go there again. Soon.

The best beer garden for miles around. Beautiful views and a brill playground for kids of all ages. Great selection of home cooked food too. We had a Christmas dinner there and was massively impressed with how fresh and delicious it was.

Food was not good. My grandson's cheese pasta was swimming in sauce. He didn't even touch it. I was not impressed.

Went for lunch and we were very impressed. First time we have been as we live quite a distance away, but it was well worth the trip; and we shall definitely be going back! I had a Chargrilled Steak sandwich on Baragella Bread, and my partner had a Prawn & Marie Rose Sauce sandwich on the same bread, both served with homemade chips and salad garnish.

The bread is absolutely delicious. We were served by a young lady called Zoe who really went out of her way to look after us, and nothing was too much trouble; we were both made to feel really welcome. We didn't have any children with us, but there were several children in as they are on holiday this week. I could tell it is a very child friendly establishment. Finally, the one thing we were most impressed with was that ALL the staff were wearing face masks.

The spin off from this is that virtually all the customers that went to the bar put their face masks on as well; so we both felt safe as we are getting on in years and trying to be cautious. So thank you Cubley Hall and your friendly staff for an excellent lunch.

Amazing day yesterday for a wedding. Food was lovely. Rooms immaculate and comfy. However the breakfast this morning really was very disappointing.

Went for lunch and some drinks. The food as excellent. Go and give it a go, you will not be disappointed. A very nice place to relax.

Just the right place for a short break. Clean, comfortable rooms, good food and a freshly cooked breakfast to order. Very friendly and helpful staff

Nice pub with big beer garden and good play area for kids. Food and beer selection could be better but is clean, friendly and has great view across Penistone.

Five stars from us! Lovely welcome here and the staff were attentive during our meal. Great food and a well stocked bar helped make our evening. We attended a live music event which was made spectacular by a warm, beautiful ambience created. The atmosphere was welcomed by us, thank you for making it an unforgettable experience. Only stayed for a drink after doing a local walk. Has a great outdoor space with great views. Looked very nice inside. Large bar area, plenty of rooms to sit in. Looks like a nice venue for a wedding. Worth a visit.

Beautiful venue, in a nice semi- rural location, close to the amenities of nearby penistone. This was the setting for my son's wedding. The food was excellent and plentiful. everywhere in the hotel was spotless. there's a small kids playground outdoors, and plenty of outdoor seating if you like alfresco dining/ drinks. Staff were friendly and accommodating, although it was clearly obvious that some were newly recruited at the time of visiting. This said, they still worked hard and were lovely and polite.

9.20 for two drinks (Pint and a glass of red). Food was OK though. I've done disco's in the barn here. Check if wedding is on as can be very off putting being surrounded by wedding guests while trying to eat your meal. They have wifi, but my iphone or girlfriends Android wouldn't connect.

Standard pub menu. Better in summer because of gardens and kids play area. Nothing special.
