We stopped here as we were in Leicester to see a concert at the 02 academy, while we were checking in I just asked how to get to the 02 academy from there and the lady wasn't sure so went to our room which was really nice by the way! We had been there for 10 minutes and had a knock on the door and it was the lady with a map of where to go! We didn't expect that! All of the staff were brilliant and so was all the food, we had breakfast and a evening meal. Could not fault this hotel.

I've stayed here before and it was really nice, clean and staff where brill. But today my partner had here baby shower at the hotel and I'd just like to thank all the staff, especially David. The room was gorgeous, the food excellent and they staff where accommodating. All the girls are sat talking about how well everything and how the venue bent over backwards to make the baby shower a special time. Thanks a lot to all the staff, you went above and beyond!

Attended an event in the Rose room last nigbt. Venue is lovely and facilities are good. Bar well staffed, however the function room was serviced by one man who ran around during the night trying to do everything on his own, he was polite but flustered. Shift was taken over by a rude little man, when I approached him for a request, he shooed me away by literally flicking his hands in front of me and asked me could I not see he was busy. Appreciate he clearing from our buffet unaided, however, I'm astounded by such rudeness. Great venue and facilities woefully let down by such poor service.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very clean and tidy throughout. We used this hotel as a stopover following attending a show at the De Monte Hall which was only a short walk away. To top off out stay we had an excellent breakfast with very friendly staff to attend to our services. Would definitely use this hotel again.

I have stayed at the Bellmont a while ago and the rooms have that old fashioned charm, clean and comfortable, really nice. However more recently had afternoon tea there; really lovely spread (the scones, cream and jam are lovely), good selection of teas, relaxed atmosphere and amazing price for 3. service is great.

We booked an afternoon tea here for a group of 16 for my mums 70th Birthday. We had our own room which was lovely. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. They were happy to get whatever we needed and able to provide vegan and gluten free food alternatives. Would definitely recommend to people looking for somewhere for a small celebration. Situated on the lovely New Walk, we all enjoyed it. Thank you

Took my mum for a birthday lunch and it was really nice to enjoy old fashioned white table clothes in a lovely room with bay windows and a view of newalk. The service from 'I think his name was- Roberto' he was from Romania was excellent. From when we arrived and had coffee we asked where we could sit and he said wherever we liked and he placed a reserved sign on a table we had chosen. He even bought my mum out a lovely happy birthday plate of sweet treats after lunch.

We had our friends and family meal there. I really like the staff nothing seemed too much trouble. The young lad was busy waiting on people but made time to get extra gravy for our table and made it seem effortless. All the waiters and waitresses were very genuine people. All serviced one table at a time over looked by a gentlemen, who was keeping the house in check.
I spoke to the bar staff and was very impressed with the banter. The young girl engaged me in a conversation and we found we had a similar taste and the young male engaging with good eye contact. It's really nice to have gregarious staff, it makes all the differences in the service. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel. Fab room. Great location and parking. But. When we returned to the hotel at 1am, hotel was locked up and it took ages to get someone to let us in. The phone was going to answerphone. This was a bit stressful and there wasn't really an apology when we managed to attract someone's attention by knocking on the window! Also, breakfast v busy and out took ages to get fried eggs!

When I was a student in Leicester, I used to walk past this hotel on New Walk and think how lovely it would be to stay there. Many moons later, I was back for a 30th birthday party so I thought I would book us in at the Belmont Hotel. I booked via Booking.com and it was 95. I think it would usually be cheaper but they were pretty booked up with a wedding and birthdays and so on.
The hotel is on New Walk, not far from the train station, in one of the prettiest areas in town. I don't think people realise how pretty a lot of Leicester is. The reception is near the back of the building, if you go in via the car park. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was small but lovey. It's an old building but the rooms are modern.
As others have mentioned the beds are super comfortable. Springy but firm, it was like sleeping on a sponge cake. Plus there was a firm pillow! That's all I need. Good tea selection on the hospitality tray, good toiletries, a hot shower. A comfortable night's sleep. Why 4 not 5? 95 didn't include breakfast and the walls are super thin so we could hear our neighbours. Nevertheless, I would book again and make sure I booked well in advance.

I can't be totally sure, but they may have the most comfortable bed in all of Europe. It certainly topped my hotels in London and Paris, and my hotel on my last trip to England. We stayed in a suite and it was huge. Like, so big that I told my husband if we ever lived in Europe we'd dream of having a flat that big -- because it was just a lot of real estate, especially compared to the average European hotel room.
I think it may have made him cry a little inside because our home in California is a four-bedroom with us as the only inhabitants. But I digress. The furniture was also comfortable, power sources were ample, wifi free (after sign up), and the shower was great. If I had known then that my hotel in Paris had a shower head that would contort itself toward the shower wall, making my shower extra unpleasant, well, I'd have stayed in the shower at the Belmont longer.
We had breakfast in the dining room and it was quite nice. I stuck with the cold stuff, but my husband added eggs which he said were fine. (In his words, "Yeah, they were good. A little runny, but whatever." This is why he doesn't Yelp.) The location was great - very close to the train, and right on the New Walk, which was convenient to me, because I was spending my days at a conference at De Montfort. The whole place was clean and lovely. I would absolutely return.

This is an excellent hotel with an even better, first class restaurant. I had a tiny room, but still everything was perfect! A really decent bed, a nice bathroom, wifi via cloud for free, and a great cooked breakfast! I had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was really good with an excellent service. The menu was varied enough for every taste and need.
The hotel has a mini gym: just a rowing machine and one more cardio thing (sorry, don't remember what). The staff is friendly and helpful and everything is quite informal (just leave your luggage there and hope that they'll recognize your face). The price was moderate ( 59 including breakfast). The location is good for visiting the university and the hotel is not far from downtown. It's close to London Road, so there are many shops and restaurants just around the corner.
