Our Michelin Dining experience was very disappointing, the restaurant lacked atmosphere and the Tasting Menu was over-rated and over priced. Not great value for money compared to other 5 star hotels in Ireland, I would rate this hotel a 4 Star. The rooms and hotel overall felt outdated and didn't have the 5 star wow experience.

Amazing experience. Had the tasting menu. Food was an experience. A lot of it I didn't like- I'm not a shellfish/roe fan, and quite a lot of it, but I expected that given its location. Having said that my husband benefitted from my extras, and you couldn't fault the genius of the food. I found the service a bit overpowering, we had something like 14 plates, each little course announced and explained in so much detail, but then regularly someone else would check if it was okay, was a bit much.
Mind you staff were lovely. Noticed in another review disappointment at being seated by kitchen, I could see how that might happen. We went for early sitting so sitting at the window, so recommend that. Would highly recommend as a treat, as the chef and his/her kitchen are in a class of their own. Has to be experienced.

We had a great stay in the Cliff House recently. We found staff to be very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent to say the least! The breakfast was dare I say the best I have experienced in any hotel. Room was slightly on the small side but surely makes up for it with the decor and sea view balcony. We would definitely recommend and be very confident that we will return again.
