My family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights in one of the rooms that has a double bed and bunkbeds. It was a great option for us! Mind you, my kids are young and we are from NYC so we're used to being in small spaces. It was a clean, serviceable room that made sure we spent lots of time out and about ex. The hotel is in a nice area of London, many students, coffee shops, restaurants.
I had a delicious vegan ice cream across the street, and loved to have breakfast at the Bloomsbury cafe. Delicious coffee and the avocado and egg sandwich on sourdough bread was super.

We are a proudly simple, family-run, eco-friendly, budget, bed & breakfast hotel in the heart of London. The Geyer family, through 3 generations, has been running the St Athans Hotel for over 50 years. We recognise the demand for clean, simple and inexpensive accommodation while still caring for the environment, and aim to fulfill these criteria while adding down-to-earth friendliness and a bit of character into the mix.
French, German, Spanish, Italian, Yugoslavian and Portuguese spoken by some of our receptionists. We understand that visiting London can be very expensive, so we have done a few little things to help our guests. If there's something that you need during your stay with us that we don't have we'll help you find it in the local area, just come and ask at reception - and of course if we don't know Google will.
If you have any special needs please let us know and we'll do our best to make your stay safe and comfortable. The St. Athans Hotel welcomes people with disabilities and has developed this access statement to address some of the issues disabled people may face. We aim to ensure all employees, guest and others who use the hotel are treated equally and according to their needs.
We know that it's difficult to find pet friendly, budget hotel in central London, so we're very happy to fill that niche. We accept any type of pet, as long as they're well behaved, and don't make any noise that might upset other guests. When you check-in you'll be asked to let our reception know when it'll be ok to service the room.

Lovely hotel in an old building. Lots of character. Stairs only but they are comfortable to use. Staff are very accommodating nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was a comfortable family room with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Very clean, tidy and well maintained. Great location for exploring central London. Only a 15 to 20 minute walk from St Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston. I think this hotel deserves a 3* rating at the very least. Will definitely book again next time we visit London

Staff, particularly at reception, were friendly and helpful. Fantastic location. Russell Sq Station is about a 5 min walk round the corner. Euston and Kings Cross are at walkable distance as well. Plenty of amenities nearby (Superdrug, Tesco, Waitrose etc). Room was an single ensuite, which was basic but clean, quiet, and provided a more than sufficient place to rest. Will absolutely consider a second visit :)

St. Athan's hotel was great last night, room was clean, tidy and well appointed. Bathrooms are shared but really clean and well cared for. For a central London location close to Russell Square tube station the value is amazing. Thank you guys for a comfortable stop over after a busy day in the big city.

Pretty expensive for what you get. Comfortable quiet room with good shower, but the internet was in and out the entire time. Meaning it was very slow at times, just not able to be connected to, or occasionally working as intended. Management was not helpful or knowledgeable about anything related to the wifi when asked to investigate the issues. The fire alarms throughout the building also kept going off for whatever reason, once at 4 AM for a few minutes (there was no fire lol)

Clean, convenient, comfortable and great value for your money in London. Although St Athans Hotel is not a luxury hotel we enjoyed our stay and the staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel is about half-way between St Pancras/Kings Cross train stations and the British Museum with a 15 minute walk either way. Super convenient location in a lovely neighborhood.

If you are a single male looking to stay here I would advise you not to as they will refuse due to protocol which apparently is from police but the police said to me they are unaware this was the rule they set as for friendly I think not and also they need some work on customer service and need to learn not be so judgemental would not stay here if you pay me one Million pounds

We paid 70 for a night in a double room. Our toilet was shared with other 3 rooms, we had a sink in our room. The shared bathroom was pretty small, you could just take a step in and a step out. The sheets were pretty clean but the drapes smelled pretty bad and the bed was right next to the window. Also you should know that at night you can hear every sound from the house so if you find yourself hard to fall asleep than I might not recommend it. For a night in London it was fine. We chose not to take a shower because I didn't find it quite clean.

Me and my partner stayed at the st athans hotel on the 26.06.21 after a long day exploring London. Firstly we were mislead to believe this was in Camden but it was no where near the centre. After arriving at first the receptionist was welcoming. We were shown to the room and instantly was shocked at the size of our room for the price. I started feeling claustrophobic and we instantly decided to just go out and get food instead of sitting staying at the hotel which was what we wanted to do.
After returning we was very tired and decided that we just give the room a chance and try to sleep, what a mistake this was. We had the most broken and uncomfortable sleep we had ever experienced staying away from home. The bed was not even even. This was not a room for 2 people. We must of got about 1 hours sleep when waking we had the worst back pains ever.
I decided to get a shower and that was freezing cold! At this point we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We then went to reception and checked out. While in the process of this the lady asked how our stay was. I told her everything we had experienced and told her we should be refunded the room or atleast partially. She made us feel stupid. Stating who stays in a room like that and doesn't say anything to reception during the night and basically made us feel like it was our fault.
This hotel was terrible there were dead flies in the shower room and looked like it doesn't get cleaned. I wouldn't even give the bed to a homeless person as they would probably have a better sleep on the street. After leaving the hotel I still felt angry about how the receptionist made me feel and then called back again. She then had the cheek to say well we can find you another room but we would have to purchase this!
What a joke. And rudely said she's busy and would not do anything to help us and to call back later to which we did to be told the same thing. This hotel has ruined our trip away in London. We feel the very least they could have done is refunded our night as now we have both got severe back pains! We are debating reporting this hotel. Very unhelpful receptionist! We made it very clear the reason we didn't say anything is because at 12 at night feeling tired we did not want to have a dispute.

This place is a little gem in the heart of London. Easy access to transport, or not far to walk. I feel always very welcome here. Hans - one of the director always make sure that I have a great room, all ready and prepared for me when I come for business. Good internet connection, so can be on zoom calls. The hotel tells a story of London and the family who owns this place. Great place to be!

St. Athans has a great location - situated close enough to walk to most central places in London but not too close that you are disturbed by city traffic. The welcome at reception was friendly and efficient. Room and bathroom was clean and cosy, with everything in good working order. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an accommodation at a very reasonable price.

The first time I came here with my mother on a short trip, and I do not regret coming back. St. Athans is a beautiful, very centrally located hotel at a very good price. The rooms are very neat and clean (I especially like the stylish wooden furniture). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Many greetings to Hans! A great stay, I will come back here with pleasure

My family spent a few days sightseeing in London at the St Athans after biking in from Tavistock in Devon a couple years ago. Besides being a great location for walking and biking, the place was pleasant and affordable, and the staff were helpful, allowing us to lock up our most valuable possessions -- our bicycles -- in a small but secure courtyard area when not in use. I look forward to booking a room again the next time we travel to London.

My husband and I spent the last 3 nights of our honeymoon at St. Athans. It was a great location - close to both the British Library and British Museum and nearby a tube stop and shopping/restaurant district. We did have an issue with our room the first night; but we were moved to another room for the rest of our stay. Kamil, one of the front desk staff, went over and above to make our stay special - he was the one who moved us to a much nicer room at the same rate and he made sure we were happy.
He even went so far as to get us a nice greeting card to acknowledge our recent wedding. Very thoughtful! I do also want to recommend Blackberry Cars for airport transfer - the transfer fee was much less than a cab and the service was great!

We loved out stay at St. Anthans. The room was small but clean and tidy. Bathrooms were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, letting us stash our bags before check-in time and letting our young daughter have a much needed rest in the tv room as well. The location was great--walking distance from St. Pancras and King's Cross Station, and (if your up for a little longer walk) Leicester Square. Thank you for a great stay!

1 star deduction for shared bathroom, but the bathrooms were clean and finished. A LOT OF STAIRS, no lift. It's an old building, so don't expect one. Great, amazing, wonderful staff and PERFECT location. Close to UCL so there will be a lot of student traffic. VERY close to British Museum, Kings Cross/ St Pancras station. all within walking distance of no more than 15 minutes.
You get a discount at the coffee shop in the basement if you are a guest with a free hot drink coupon. I loved t. It might not be posh, but it worked for me on short notice. I would definitely stay here again. Cheers

I stayed in this hotel for two weeks last October. The overall experience was quite good: very nice personnel, big English breakfast and a very good location for the price. I also received a discount for staying longer then a week: 55 per night instead of 59 for a twin room. The twin rooms are really good and spacious.

We (3 friends) spent a night at st. athans bed & breakfast. The room was not bad and the common restrooms and baths where wonderful. The receptionist was very kind and let us store our luggage in the cellar after our checkout. (most hotels won't let you without a fee). I would spent other nights there too. I think the price was very good. The Hotel was very close to Russel Square Underground and to a big shoping centre with plenty of restaurants and cafes.
Also a TESCO Supermarket is near and open till late in the night (excellent when your hungry and on the reutrn from the city). The Hotel had a common room with a tv and free Wi-fi. Only the breakfast was not so good. It was too oily and. simply not good. Putting all in a nutshell this hotel is his money worth it and I would come again.
