Services
All of our beds are made up with high quality duvets fresh laundered sheets, and luxury hypoallergenic pillows. However, if you prefer feather pillows, please inform us whilst booking. Some of our rooms are ground floor with walk in showers, giving easy access to those who struggle with stairs. Some of our rooms are pet friendly, but we do keep a few rooms pet free, please inform us whilst booking if you'll be bringing your four-legged friends. In keeping with the history of Castlemead, the guest lounge is tastefully and comfortably furnished, with a roaring fire in the winter months.
Full of greenfields and surrounded by the sea, Pembrokeshire produces some of the most fantastic meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables available in the UK. In our restaurant, we make use of as much home and locally grown produce as possible, while also exploring the world for new tastes and food trends.
Historically a Gentlemen's Residence, commissioned by the Army during the Second World War, we have slowly been bringing Castlemead back to its former glory. What was once a tennis court, to the sea-facing side of the house is now a large lawn with stunning views, perfect for soaking up the August sun with a large G&T.
A minute stroll to the beach and Coast path, Castlemead is perfectly situated for guests who wish to bring their four-legged friends for free. Our resident Border Collies welcome all with balls and sticks on the lawn.

Just returned from our third visit to Castlemead Hotel which is situated in beautiful surroundings on the coastal path. The food is excellent, well presented and served by friendly staff. The location is close to Tenby and not too far from St. David's in the car. A visit to the castle is a must. The hotel is dog friendly. Recommended.

Lovely visit and will be returning soon. Only negative points where the small area off from the lounge for people to sit directly outside our room. Made it hard to get to sleep, my wife opened the door and gave the couple who where talking loudly the death stare and they moved on . And the new windows still had marks on them from being masked up with tape for painting. I only notice the windows hadn't been cleaned after fitting because i spent so much time looking out at the lovely view.

Recently refurbished, very friendly staff. Room was a bit chilly in march but extra heater provided. Good menu

Wonderful location, pleasant, homely little hotel with polite and friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable with spectacular views across to the church and down to the beach. However, no provision to charge a phone next to the bed; the modern bedside lamp was connected to a round pin plug! Sadly the evening meal was not good. Masses of limp, unappealing veggies, grossly overdone tuna and a rather fatty steak with soggy chips.

A real disappointment considering this is advertised as a restaurant with rooms. Breakfast was rather better. I understand that they were understaffed on this occasion and would be very happy to try again if we had some assurance that the standard of food was improved.

I was very fortunate to find some accommodation in Wales due the pandemic. Myself and the team have been working locally and booked the Castlemead Hotel for approx. 3 months. I can't thank Lorna and the team enough for the attention to detail and level of service that we've received whilst down in Pembroke, it's literally been a home away from home.

Another extremely positive point to highlight is the approach to COVID safety. Whatever your reason for visiting the beautiful part of the country do not miss out on the opportunity to stop at this fantastic hotel, situated in an equally fantastic location. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Friendly staff and the dinner and breakfast were very nice. Fresh fruit for breakfast is always welcome. Great location next to the castle and a short walk to the beach. When I visited there were surfers bobbing around in the surf waiting for the right wave. Could be a really relaxing place to stay for a few days.

Review of Mexican night. Service was very poor disinterested waitress plates/bowels were thrown on the table with no explanation to what was what. All meat dishes were stone cold after raising this with the waitress she explained they were not meant to be hot, having a decade of kitchen experience I am sure the chef would be disappointed with this response. The food was tasty and I would recommend but don't expect service with a smile.

Great location, good facilities - but with poor customer service, which spoils everything else. Wifi virtually non-existent. Parking limited and for small cars only. The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and shower was particularly excellent. Food pretty good (depending on what you choose). This has the potential to be a top class experience, but staff are dismissive, disinterested, and purely functional.

We were never made to feel welcomed, but felt more like inconveniences, rather than valued guests. This is all easily addressed, but I suspect whilst they get money coming in, they don't care. Beware, your poor attention to guests may be your undoing!
