Access to the hotel grounds is provided via a public car park. The hotel has it's own car park surrounded on all sides by gardens. From the car park, the entrance to the hotel is accessed via a flight of 13 stone steps with a handrail, which brings you to the garden terrace, followed by a flight of 6 stone steps with a handrail.
Room 1 is a rear facing first floor double en suite room situated at the top of the first flight of shallow stairs. This room is accessed by 3 further steeper steps, which were part of the old staircase up to the top floor. A nice room for a couple or business travellers, with a comfortable double divan bed, this room is furnished in grey and white with accents of white and purple.
It is decorated in shades of grey and teal, accented with lighter blues and white furniture. The sash window looks out over our backyard and garage. Although the view is not front facing, this room benefits from the afternoon sun and is very light and airy. It was one of the original main bedrooms of the house and is a popular room with repeat visitors.
Room 3 is a front view en suite situated on the first floor landing and can be set up as a twin or as a very comfortable super kingsize. It is decorated in cool coastal shades with a small window seat to take in the view and an easy chair for relaxing. The cute cast iron fire surround makes an interesting feature on the original chimney breast and the huge sash window enables you to enjoy the view of the castle and estuary.

The most accommodating and welcoming hosts! After a COVID snag upended our original housing plans, we are so happy we found the Castlebank Hotel at the last minute. The Hotel is beautifully kept, the room was quiet and cozy with the most comfortable bed, the breakfast was delicious, and the location could not be any more convenient. Endless thanks for saving our stay in Conwy!

We stayed in Mid October, 2021. The proprietors, Jo and Henrique were very hospitable and gracious. The location is superb, with the town walls are only a half block away from the Castlebank front door and Conwy castle is within an easy 6 - 8 minute walk. The location is also a great launching place for other destinations in Norther Wales, like Snowdonia National Park, the National Slate Museum, and Bodnant Gardens. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. I would recommend the Castlebank Hotel as a charming place for a special get-away for anyone visiting the area.

Jo and Henry took us in at literally the last minute when our other accommodation told us they had been flooded and lost our #. They are incredibly warm and gracious hosts who have an absolutely beautiful property conveniently located just next to the castle wall. You'd be hard-pressed to find a speck of dust anywhere, as the entire place is spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was ample and delicious - a real treat each morning! When we set off early to hike Snowden one day, Jo offered us a light breakfast to take on the road which was incredibly thoughtful. Definitely recommend this lovely B&B to anyone looking to explore Conwy and nearby Snowdonia, or just a great B&B experience. Hope to come back one day!

So the downside is it has a steep climb from the parking area to the hotel. It is dated in some ways and can feel small. That aside, the place is filled with character and would be a great place to spend any number of days. Very nice breakfast options will satisfy most. Location is great for seeing the town, and some rooms have really nice views. As I said, character, it is a place that could be a great location for novel or movie.
The decorating isn't thrown around for the sake of filling space, no, it reflects the owners tastes and has undeniable class and warmth. The best part though, and this is no exaggeration, is the owners. While we didn't meet his wife directly, the gentleman who runs it is a gem. My wife and I don't warm up to strangers quickly, but he has some sort of magic power to make you feel incredibly welcome there. I love the hotel, but the owner is 5 stars plus.

Stayed here for four nights. The owners are two of the most welcoming people we have come across in this trade. The room we had was clean, with a large and comfortable bed. The hotel walls are covered in local photographs/canvasses taken by the owner, giving plenty of inspiration to go out sightseeing. The view looking out over the town and castle of Conwy was absolutely lovely.
It is situated no more than a two minute walk from the town walls and shops while still far enough away that we were not bothered by noise and traffic associated with a tourist heavy heavy town. The breakfast was delightful and not at all greasy, made with locally produced ingredients (I even went and brought some of the bacon to take home). Whenever we saw the owners they grated us warmly and were very helpful in suggesting places we might like to go and things to do. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Beautul location. Perfect stay at the Castlebank Hotel, I have nothing negative to say. Room was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean. Gentleman who checked us in and served breakfast in the morning was very helpful and friendly and I can't praise the breakfast enough. This was our first visit to Wales and we would most definitely highly recommend the location and hotel. Thank you.

Stayed here for a weekend with friends but wished it was longer. Lovely hotel with large clean rooms that are tastefully decorated. Located in quite area with only a 2min walk into Colwyn town centre. warm and friendly welcome from the owners where nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is probably the best we have ever had from a hotel, fresh quality ingredients cooked & presented perfectly. Highly recommend this hotel and we look forward to returning some day.

Our stay here was relaxing and the room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the linen was very clean. The view of the castle at night was spectacular especially when it's lit up. There was plenty of parking and the hotel is very central. The host was very accommodating and friendly. I give this 5 stars all round.
