Burrendale Hotel & Country Club

Just outside Newcastle Co Down - perfect for breakfast and recharge. Hotel has just been refurbished and is lovely and fresh. Breakfast weren't that great. a bit basic and one morning we had to return because sausages were not cooked throughly, that was very disappointing. We did have dinner there and the food was lovely and portions very generous.

Went here for a group dinner. Nothing to complain about, the food was great and we had a whole room to ourselves (seemed to be the breakfast room). Lovely evening!

Lovely hotel which were advised when booking is getting refurbished.room was spotless, kept well stocked with towels etc everyday and bed was amazing.best buffet breakfast I've had and dinner was fantastic.staff were so polite and helpful.we really couldn't fault anything about the hotel.well worth a visit

Hotel a bit outdated on entering through the first door it's a cash machine you see could do with something a bit more welcoming reception is OK but again needs sorting but staff very welcoming. Last time we stayed there were some comfortable seating and arm chairs now it's all tables and chairs nowhere to just sit and relax. Breakfast was grand all in a nice place but needs a little updating.

Very nice hotel, good size. Food in the restaurant is good, but expect to pay for it. Service can be a bit sketchy at times but overall good. Loads of room in car park, and only a short taxi ride to the centre of Newcastle.

Having been a regular visitor over the years it's been nearly four years since we visited due to changing the place around and doing away with all the sofas and soft seat area, also it was getting a little tired looking so as a surprise 60th my wife booked us in for an overnight stay at the beginning of March. I was looking forward to going to see what changes had been made, well I needn't have got to excited as it was the same old place, same tired carpets and the bedroom was just so dated and stained carpets and the bathroom needed a complete overhaul to bring it up to modern standards that you would expect from such a hotel.

Dinner was lovely and the staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. This is an honest review and for the Burrendale to compete in today's market it really does need a lot of money spent on it.

Run down hotel, basic everything, disappointing pool, nothing like the pictures, poor breakfast, average dinner. On the plus side the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Many better places available for this budget. Spend 2 nights here and thankfully not more! Won't be coming back.

Stopped in for coffee and scones. There was plenty of staff on, who were quite friendly, however the service was quite slow. There was a mix up, which was rectified but it did take a while and a word to a waitress to get action. The coffee and scones themselves were quite nice.

Went for a Boxing Day family gathering. A decent meal with nice friendly staff. No real negatives but nothing special either.

Stayed for 3 nights, great they have family rooms that allow 3 children, although a little cramped if staying for a few days. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant. Food was very nice. Only down side, we had a late check out arranged at time of booking, wasn't added to the booking, these things happen but got a bang on the room door asking when we were leaving, explained re late check out, but instead of saying no problem they'd amend the booking was asked had we paid for it yet, wasn't a great end to a nice few days break.

Went for a family meal. Great menu choices, very helpful & friendly staff, meals were all superb, hot & large tasty portions, keen prices, good wine selection. Burrendale has a very large spacious dining area, very clean, plenty of social distancing, very covid compliant, safe dining. Recommend as a great place for a comfortable, relaxing meal out. Superb all round dining experience.

Beautiful hotel and spa. Very clean and food is really good. Bedrooms are lovely and the spa is amazing. Great gym and variety of fitness classes.

From the word go the staff were so helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless with a beautiful view of the mourns. Bedlinen was lovely and clean. We booked on arrival for the pool which wasn't a problem and enjoyed the jacuzzi. Our booking included an evening meal. The staff again were amazing. Helpful and friendly. It was busy with a great atmosphere. But we didn't have to wait for our food. All in all a brilliant stay. We would highly recommend here

All on the flat. Idea for lessabled people or those with wheelchairs. Spacious dinning tables well apart. Gr8 menu good choices all dietary needs can be accommodated.food delicious. Lovely friendly helpful staff. I will be recommending to others. I was very pleased.

This hotel could not have been more accommodating as one of our party if four was ill and couldn't come. For the same price they gave us a room with a double, a single and a camp bed. Staff were very friendly and the food is excellent. In the present climate, we couldn't use the pool as it was fully booked by 4 o'clock on the day we arrived as people had booked prior to arriving. A lovely view from the dining room of the Mournes.

We had the pleasure of having our daughter Laura & son in law Stuarts wedding at The Burrendale on 3.9.21 and just want to say a heartfelt thank you to the whole team; Diane & the reception team, waiting, bar & housekeeping staff, a more efficient, courteous and helpful bunch of people you couldn't meet. A particular shout out to Fiona, Conor, Pauline & Dominic, you guys are true professionals at what you do, our needs were catered for to the highest standard throughout the day and indeed during the run up to the wedding.

The food on arrival, meal and buffet were all equally superb, portion size and quantity was immense and efficiently presented by all the staff. Special word of thanks to Dominic who stepped in as MC for us, much appreciated Dominic. 5 stars is hardly enough for this well run establishment. Thank you all again, Christine Pennington

The best hotel in Newcastle, Co Down by far. Fabulous location and fantastic staff and the food is top notch. The courtyard is beautiful to sit in and chill on a nice sunny afternoon. Breakfast is also first class.

Worst place ever food good rooms old and need updated still staff and mangers rude unhelpful some off them were the rooms manger she's nasty
