Berry Head Hotel

Popped here on a spur of the moment decision as not visited for a while. As always, the views from Berry Head Hotel are amazing. Drinks on the terrace and then into the brasserie for a meal. We were served by the nicest, friendliest and most professional member of staff, Corey. What an asset to the business, this young man has got a great future ahead of him with his people skills. (to be honest though all the staff were excellent and they all look the part as well, so smart).

I took his recommendation for my meal which was the chicken. Oh my goodness. It was absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, a decent sized portion and so so tasty. My partner had the duck. Again perfectly cooked. Deserts were to die for. Very indulgent and decadent. When we got the bill I was pleasantly surprised. Given the surroundings your in and that this is a premier hotel the value for money is excellent.

It was exactly the same as we'd paid a few days ago at a local gastro-pub where the food was no where near as good, the staff weren't half as attentive and I had a view of a wall! Def we will be using the Berry Head Hotel more often for our date nights now as it is so so special.

They say "you get what you pay for" not here you don't! You get superb service, polite, friendly staff and the food is absolutely excellent! Couple this with the charm of the premises, the amazing views and you have a jewel in the crown of beautiful Brixham. Well done everyone!

We have been coming to this hotel since 2016 what a find! We always have a great weekend and this time was no different. Staff super friendly. a very special shout out to Paul is who simply fabulous! Although there was a wedding and a party on this weekend we were not affected - separate function rooms make sure non party guests are not effected. Brilliant live music Friday and Saturday night. After a wonderful walk we arrived at this hotel for a coffee and a chocolate. The hotel is 4 star so I expected to pay through the nose for a coffee. Surprise Surprise it was cheaper than Starbucks, served by good staff and all on a warm day outside. The view was worth the price of the wonderful coffee so in effect it was a win win situation. We aim to go back to dine in the summer not cheap but the menu looks amazing.

We had a family meal for 19 guests. We requested a table in the bar area but we we're given a function room to ourselves which was great! Some of our party arrived late but staff were very accommodating. Food portions were very generous, desserts a little expensive, service from waiting staff was good & Mandy did a great job with the drinks. Paul was also very welcoming!

We went for lunch and it was so good ( food and service) that we booked for dinner the following evening. Sadly although the food was excellent (chef's curry was fabulous?) the service wasn't quite 100% across the board. The young waiter Casey is fabulous, worth his weight in gold!

Stayed here for one night in a double room. we really enjoyed ourselves here! the room we stayed in was well organised and overall well cleaned, and it was decorated nicely with a sort of nautical theme (because the hotel is situated by the sea). in terms of cleanliness, the room was decently cleaned, bedsheets and towels were fresh from the laundry, and though i saw two hairs in the bathtub, it didn't affect my stay so much. the bathroom was lovely, it had nice, modern decor and there was hot water running for most of my stay, which was a plus! overall facilities of the hotel were good, a swimming pool, about 3 large dining rooms, library and the nearby nature reserve are entertaining for guests and the VIEW is something else. you could watch the view alone for hours! food was tasty and there was nice variety, staff were helpful and experienced, would recommend staying here!

Has a lovely feel about it come rain or shine. It was lashing it down as we sat eating our lovely breakfast looking at the sea. After a good night's sleep in the comfy bed after a lovely dinner that I couldn't eat all of as was a very generous portion

This is a review based on dining occasionally at this Hotel over several years. The food and service is always inconsistent.sometimes the food is very good but more often than not there is a problem. This includes missing ingredients from food ordered, undercooked veg, small portion of vegetables etc. Also some of the food tastes more like it is prepackaged from a supermarket rather than cooked from fresh in the kitchen. On a couple of occasions recently, a different dessert to the one ordered has been served. The average price for a main meal is around 16 and 7.50 for a dessert.

I stayed for two nights to rest my leg, as I had ruptured my achilies and was struggling with the stairs at home. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. I just love the hotel, the room was great and I would definitely stay there again, even though I live in Brixham.

Lovely place for boxing day lunch. I stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago too and found a very comfortable experience. Excellent menu and carvery. Reasonably priced for the time of year too. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I dropped in for a coffee one afternoon and, on seeing the menu, decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea. First impressions were very favourable as we were greeted by a very welcoming receptionist. Turned out she was the best thing about our visit. The waiter who showed us to our table never came back to take our order, so we had to ask someone else, who duly fetched him.

He apologised profusely, saying he had got so engrossed with something else, he had totally forgotten about us! While we waited for the tea, we surveyed our surroundings. The situation and view are excellent, but inside the decor is tired and worn and uninspiring. Even the Christmas decorations were dowdy. The tea was nothing to write home about, either.

The scones were OK, but nothing special, and the cream so solid, it was almost impossible to spread on the very crumbly scones. The cost, at 7.25 each was not excessive, but we would rather have had quality and paid more. All in all a very disappointing experience.

We had our Christmas Party at the hotel. Food was beautiful service was on point. Everyone had a fab time. Highly recommended

Had afternoon tea and cakes. Delicious. Must be the best spot in Torbay. Views to die for in a relaxed comfy lounge.

Very nice location for an event. I visited for a wake and they we're very accommodating, they provided light refreshments that were well prepared and fulfilled our request to the letter. View from the function room was delightful and despite not staying with them I would be very keen to book in and have a stay with them in the future.

Stayed 2 days no housekeeping to change bedding. Just tidy up our toilet. Breakfast was cold, very basic apart. Friendly staff. Plenty car park and lovely gardens. Easy access. Great views. Cracked walls and ceiling. Old fashioned key with massive key ring! Dog friendly. Swimming pool area clean and tidy. 45 minutes slots, one family per slot. Not much privacy as front desk can see through window and is a main corridor on the other side. Water temperature was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Sauna was closed due to COVID. One way system on stairs. Overpriced.

Fantastic location, great view. The apartment is well designed and the whirlpool is just big fun on the terrace. Short ribs were the best I ever had.

Incredible views from the terrace and even spotted a pod of dolphins. The vegetarian food options were limited, but quite a tasty burger. Service was slow and not to the standard you'd expect from some a high brow establishment. Good place to go for a drink and the view
