Great place for horse racing. Clear views of the track and plenty of seating. My only criticism is that if you want a drink in the bar then make sure you remortgage your house first! Most racecourses are pricey but Pontefract is astronomical

We had booked to see Paul Heaton in July and booked this Hotel for a two night stay for four adults. They cancelled the rooms and gave no reason why or any alternative accommodation, Appalling customer service

Booked this hotel for a 2 night stay in July prior to purchasing tickets for Paul Heaton concert to ensure we had accommodation, all was confirmed through booking.com, tickets purchased for gig your hotel then cancelled the booking. Not happy as tickets have cost over 100 and no alternative accommodation available. Due to you not honouring the agreement we have now lost money.

Very friendly hosts. Nice and clean. Big breakfasts. Very central to the train station, easy to get around. This New Zealanders would stay here again.

Ask yourself a question as to why you can't book a night here? Rumors flying around about this hotel canceling wedding dates and what a surprise it's true. The truth is the local government has used this hotel as an economic migrant hotel while homeless soldiers room the streets.

Just had our wedding breakfast and evening reception at the hotel.wedding breakfast excellent. everyone had positive comments about staff and venue and food. Andrea and everyone involved fantastic. The chef was a lovely guy too. Would have given 5 stars but DJ let the night down, most commented it was boring, old type music, we asked for up to date music has we had lots of young guests so not a lot got up to dance even after requests as he never played them.

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of Donny with mostly helpful staff. But. Be very careful when booking a room on booking.com as what is advertised is not what you get. There doesn't seems to be any communication between the hotel and booking.com. Come on sort it out the price you see is what a customer wants to pay and not be told that the Website is wrong.

Lovely old style hotel with modern rooms, only thing was there were no biscuits with coffee tray which I like. Great price at 55 for the night. Would definitely stay again.

Overall a nice stay in the center of Doncaster. Plenty of restaurants near but can be quite noisy at night due to many bars and clubs in the vacinity. Parking was close, although not very clear on booking.com that it's at the Civic Quarter, 5 minute walk away if you don't mind dragging the luggage. Hotel happily refunded the cost. Room was large, with a Fridge, Iron, kettle and unlimited tea bags and milk. The air conditioning was an added bonus during humid nights. Definitely worth a stay in a historic property with character

Lovely place but very dated, new carpets and needs a lick of paint, room nothing special shower could have been cleaner, staff could have been more efficient as drinks we'd had were still on the table an hour later. I will say though, we had a 3 course meal for a murder mystery night and the food and service was impeccable for this, bar service not so good though. All in all not a bad stay, just could have been better hence 3 stars.

A nice hotel.once. This has lost all that was going for it. It was once a lovely place to stay, before the town centre died. There isn't much to see or do in Doncaster centre of an evening, apart from a couple of restaurants nearby, I think the hotel is just too big to manage. One morning I wnet in for breakfast and there was literally nobody around.

The reception lady came and served coffee in the end. There was some dodgy repairs on the flat roof outside my bedroom window, and the room was rather tired looking. The people all seemed nice though, and I probably would stay again.

Stay here if you don't mind listening to techno club music wee into the night while you're trying to sleep. We arrived on a Saturday night, so the clubs on the street and the club attached to the hotel were in full swing. If you're planning to go out and stay up for the night, this hotel is for you. If you're planning on trying to get some sleep, bring some ear plugs and you'll be good to go.

They have a breakfast buffet in the morning for 5 for hotel guests which include cereal, toast, yogert, crossants (plain and regular), eggs, beans, various meats and coffee and tea.
