Sands Resort

Really enjoyable stay as a couple here. Staff great, cocktails at the bar great and rooms lovely. All set for families during school holidays but peaceful during term time

We stayed for 3 nights with our 16 month old. We have both stayed at 5* resorts before and the service you recieve from Sands Resort is better than those visits and matches the stunning view from the resort, as every single member of the team made our stay the best it could be. The culture at the resort is very family orientated and perfect for new parents as its very child friendly with lots of things for little ones to do onsite, including a soft play and a park, the breakfast and dinner is great quality and the views as previously mentioned are stunning.

Behind the resort are winding hills and picturesque views, in the opposite direction your less than 100m from a beautiful view of the sea cliffs and Porth Bay. Theres plenty do onsite including swimming, table tennis and air hockey, only small criticism is that the pool table que tips need replacing as they are past their best! We will be back next year, so please thank your colleagues for being the beating heart of the resort and making our stay the best it could be. All the best Joel, Jess and Fin

We found the magnificent Sands restaurant when we were passing by, we were actually staying close by. and what a find it turned out to be! We ate there 4 evenings out of the 5 we spent at Porth Beach. The reason? Service was warm, welcoming, thoughtful, caring, friendly and kind. Lucy, Hannah, Jake, Maddi and many others! Whoever hires the staff has a great selection process because they were all first class!

As well as the fabulous service the food was SENSATIONAL! Great variety, excellent tastes, thoughtfully presented, .just SPOT ON. SUPER JOB CHEFS! We introduced other guests to the Sands before we left and they were equally impressed and returned after we left as well! The warmth, ambiance, staff, food and views combined to create an unforgettable experience! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou

Room is alright, it's definitely great for family of 4 persons. But it has only 1 small bathroom with a tiny sink (40 * 30cm). After Covid, you need to tell the staff what to do in this hotel. If you need them to make your room, need extra amenities, or to take out the trash! No kidding. The towels are still on the floor, bed unmade when you come back from your sightseeing. the waste is still in the room after 3 days. *thumbs-up* Restaurant was worse than ever.

The portion is so small (I could see how many pieces of meats there are on my plate. 4 small pieces of Beef Bourguignon*laugh*) and when you need more breads to fill your belly! The best part is when you demand more breads, the Chef could only offer ONE piece of bread from the kitchen. The bread must be one of the kind that we can't have more than one. apparently!

Room layout very weird as the main bedroom was by the corridor door (with a frosted window!) you could hear people walking in the morning and it was not very private which was a real shame as the place overall was fantastic! Delicious breakfast, staff very polite and helpful. The hotel facilities were second to none. My and my partner used the gym, sauna and the hot tub.

We had fun playing on the pool table and table tennis we had such a laugh! The main dinner we had it booked for the first night was ok I would say, tasty. The place is a heaven for families coming with children as there is a lot to offer: outside play ground, mini golf, zip line, tennis courts and basketball court. The resort is also in a beautiful setting which was lovely and very memorable stay We would definitely come here again with the kids but stay in a different room

Ideal family hotel. Amazing sea view. Good rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Lots for kids to do, swimming, crazy golf, soft play etc. Pool clean and warm.

We spent a week here (sun-sun) from the moment we arrived we were impressed. The manager on the desk (Martin) was polite and friendly, he went through the welcome package with us and explained where everything was and how to book any activities. We had a family suite, that was big enough to fit all four of us(two adults, two kids)and then some, the beds were nice and soft and pleasant to sleep on.

The kids loved the onsite park and activity park, and we all managed to navigate the maze, the swimming pool was excellent and well maintained. We had booked breakfast and dinner and were not disappointed, the cooked breakfast was tasty and fresh, and the continental suited the kids to the ground, yogurts, fruit and cereal were also available. Dinner was fantastic, and the quality, presentation and portions were great (couldn't eat all of it) and felt like it would be at home in a swanky restaurant, the kids menu had changes throughout the week so they didn't get too bored with the same things, also as two of us are quite fussy they accommodated any variation we needed.

Our waitresses were also amazing, Maddie, Hannah and Sarah were so polite and helpful, they really made us feel at home and welcome every time we saw them, simple things like remembering your name or room number and just always seemed happy to see us. All in all a fantastic holiday for all the family and I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Firstly amazing staff that cannot do enough to help. Very child oriented and some great views from the rooms, depending on which room you go for. Some nice activities on site that can pass a good morning on crazy golf, carnival games or in the maze. The pool is nice but book a slot as I can imagine it gets busy in peak season. The food was very nice but the let down for it is that its over priced for the hotel, eg a 7 soup, 16 for a 6oz burger, 8oz steaks from 25 etc.

Went for a group party/meal. On the whole excellent, but one or two minor things just took the edge off. Service: excellent & corrected errors quickly. Food: flavours excellent, minor errors took the edge off and one disappointing dish. They said they could provide a vegan cheese board - however 1 type of cheese and 1 type of cracker, when compared to the 4 or 5 varieties of each on the standard board was disappointing.

Given that I could go to my local supermarket and buy a range for myself, it was also boring to be given only a standard Cheddar type alternative. Drinks: excellent range of cocktails and mocktails available. Entertainment: the sound system needed work & the choices were not great to begin with, but both got sorted.

Phenomenal, the staff are incredible. If you are a parent with children of any age then please visit. Everything is made as easy as possible for you. They will bend over backwards to help out in anyway possible. The food is great and the location is spectacular. We will be back asap.

We had a fab few nights here at the end of October half term (2 adults, 2 kids - 4 and 9). Good size suite (Contemporary Sea View) with a fab view of the coast (and lots of rainbows!). Great facilities - we used the pool every day and had it to ourselves twice! Plus, they had lots of fun Halloween activities which we could take part it (shout out to the excellent staff member who hosted the Family Games!).

Only minor quibbles are the suite door opens into the kids' sleeping area, the shower is not designed for anyone over 5'2 and the place could probably do with a lick of paint to freshen it up. But made no difference to the quality of out stay! Top tip - there is a decent sized fridge in the room. Helpful for our milk guzzling 4 year old and room snacks!

100% recommended. Staff very friendly & polite. The view, the room, the swimming pool beautiful. Lots of entertainment for the kids.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here with our toddler. It was the perfect resort in terms of facilities for keeping our toddler entertained and engaged whilst giving us the chance to take a breather. A highlight for me was having a beer in the bar overlooking the bay each afternoon. I just wish Cornwall was a bit closer to where I live!

First visit to Newquay this year and absolutely loved it. Hotel is amazing for families with children. Great staff throughout. We have booked for next year.

Recommended. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The food was beautiful and very tasty. The view, the room, the swimming pool, the spa, the garden was clean and pleasant and well look after.

Amazing resort hotel, next to the sea, with access to the best beaches, lots of in house activities to keep the kids and the entire family happy busy. Surf boards and kits available for a lovely beach experience! Nice restaurant onsite! And amazing staff. Easy access to the best places nearby!

Loved this hotel, everything from staff to facilities was brilliant. High quality meals with the specials changing each day and all included in the half board price. Loads of free and bookable activities to and not so busy that the kids couldn't do them. Very Covid safe, our kids 7 & 9 said it was their best holiday ever

It's a great family hotel. Genuinely a great spot. It has so much to keep the kids occupied and it's only 1.8 miles from Newquay. You have watergate Bay just down the road as well. Yeah it's not cheap and it's not a 5 star resort but it's worth the money. Place is clean, rooms are nice, (mattresses could do with a renew but not the worst by any stretch), food is good and a great base if you want to go explore. Above all, the kids will love it, two pools (outdoor and indoor) soft play, football, basketball, tennis, playgrounds, zip lines, maze etc. Worth it in my opinion :)

This is a family orientated hotel complex set just outside newquay overlooking the bay. The scenery is stunning and peaceful and really lets you relax and enjoy your holiday. The rooms are very large and have cots as well as baby listening services. The food is good, although becomes a little samey after a few days. The ingredients are of high quality and the portions are well sized.
