Back in the 6th Century, the valley of the River Roe was chosen as the perfect venue in Ireland by St. Columba when he addressed the assembled High Kings of both Ireland and Scotland. St. Columba helped shape the ancient history of Ireland . . . and set new standards for the future. Today, the location he chose plays host to an exciting and luxurious resort hotel. Overlooking Lough Foyle, and ideally located for visitors, it offers the very best in Irish hospitality and international standards of service . . . whether your visit is for pleasure or - like the ancient Chieftains - business!

Lovely welcome at check-in and all staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great and evening meal in restaurant was fabulous. couldn't fault it. I've only given 4 stars, as, although the rooms were clean and spacious, they were just a little tired and in need of some modernisation. I had previously stated here 10 years ago and find think the carpet or decor has been changed since then.

Stayed 1 night as part of a community group residential. This was my second time at the resort. Rooms are lovely beds are soooo comfy, food is excellent, staff are a wee bit distant but pleasant when directly addressed. The breakfasts are the best!. Variety and quantity would set ya up for a whole day!

To be honest we haven't been anywhere this good as a family. I have travelled extensively and find this place to have just the right balance of quality and price. The staff are fantastic and would do anything for you. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The pool and facilities are clean and well thought out. If you hate being near kids and are looking for fine dining with adults go somewhere else. If you want a relaxed, helpful, comfortable, good quality, clean, well finished hotel, spa and restaurant then this is a fantastic place

Fabulous staff, hotel is lovely and clean. We had afternoon tea and the girl serving Emma was just a doll! She couldn't do enough for us and really made it a lovely experience. There was a large function on and we were worried the food would suffer- Nope! Absolutely GORGEOUS We had the duck and it was just.perfect! The breakfast in the morning was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend for a nice relaxed stay!

From the moment we arrived to the second we left EVERYTHING was excellent! I booked the Roe Valley Hotel to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and I am sure glad that I did. We had afternoon tea on arrival - Lara is a gem and definitely the best person for the job. She is super friendly and interested without being pushy or interfering. The food was phenomenal in both the brassiere for dinner and the courtyard for breakfast.
I booked the Roe Taster massage in the spa as a birthday treat. I too got too got the Roe Taster and it was for sure a treat for us both. Everything about this hotel is wonderful. Every single member of staff, regardless of their position is really friendly and takes time to speak to you. It is like one big family of which you are made feel a part of.
The hotel adheres well to civic regulations, not all guests do, but that is their ignorance, not the hotel. It was our first time at the Roe but it most certainly won't be out last. P.S. I am only giving the room 4 stars only for a small matter - we prefer a walk in shower to a shower over the bath. The rooms are very comfortable and super clean.
