The Bolholt Hotel is set in 50 acres of lakes and parkland on the periphery of the Manchester conurbation. It therefore provides visitors with facilities of a cosmopolitan city on its doorstep, and the peace and heritage of the Irwell Valley countryside. The hotel is the ideal setting for any function as the picturesque lakes and gardens afford complete privacy and endless opportunities for exquisite photography.

Clean room, friendly check in staff. My room was small and in good order, but the decor is dated. The floorboards in the room and hallways squeaked with every footstep, so I kept getting woken up by everyone walking past my room (room 65). The lights in the hallway were also on all night and shone under the bottom of the door.directly towards the bed.
There are portal windows in the room, with no curtains, so you're walking up as the sun rises anyway. The hotel has ample parking and the grounds are well kept. Internet is free and stable and there's a gym I didn't have time to use, but is open until late. The location is good for access to Bury, but my night of no sleep puts this hotel on the ok list, sadly.

Used the bolholt for the last 7 plus years for vacations and a Wedding. All of which have been excellent. Excellent hotel, service friendly and caring staff anf management and good food including breakfast which is superb, nothing is too much trouble. Cant fault the place and it is a brilliant venue for weddings in picturesque grounds.

Breakfast is not geared up for people who are not rushing off to work. Never been told a minute past 09:00 that "You are late, we have finished breakfast, you will just have to see what is left." Even if this is needing advising to clients, there is a way of saying it. Checked in Tuesday and although the tea, coffee, sugar and milk were all in the room.
No spoon. I requested one on a room maintenance request at breakfast the next morning on my way to breakfast. Should just have taken one from the breakfast room, as that was the way that I ended up getting it on Thursday or I would still be stirring my drinks with a pencil. This is not good service. Fortunately most of the staff were pleasant and helpful.

We spent 6 nights in this lovely hotel and we couldn't be any happier. Great location, immersed in the nature, with a beautiful tiny lake with ducks and frogs opposite the reception entrance. The hotel is only located about 25 min from Manchester City centre. Great location for bike riders, there are easy to intermediate tracks you can follow. Easy access to the stable country club where BW guests can access the spa, pool And gym free of charge.
The hotel is pet friendly, they charge 10per pet per night. What really makes this hotel exceptional is the staff, so professional and attentive. They go the extra mile to assist their guests. A special thanks goes to Shirley, Lexie, Steven and the maintenance guys (sorry we don't recall the name!), but also to the F&B team and house keeping, you all have been amazing! Thank you and we hope to see you again soon! Thank you A + T

The swimming pool was closed for the kids which was very disapointing. Very small selection of food (sandwiches only) but staff were helpful in letting us order pizza in. Reception staff were very polite and friendly. Rooms were warm and beds very comfy. Would give 2.5 star rating on this occasion. Above average only just.
