Fab Sunday roast in their classic dining room, incredible puddings and a very decent house Red too. Kids meals really good and cheap meant 4 of us ate for less than 80 including service. Usually we've eaten outside. Also great. But nice to be inside on a chilly day!

This is a great family hotel in the best sense. Very dated but extremely spacious and comfortable. The staff are absolutely first class and the food delicious. Have no illusion this is not the Ritz, but that is not the point. It is perfect for families and its location is great.

The Knoll House disappointed on most counts. The website looks good but the hotel mis in serious need of some TLC. Everything is tired: decor, carpets, paintings, all are really tired. The positives: great duvet The negatives: most other things. Shower; dreadful. It took ages to get warm water and then the delivery was like a badly kinked garden hose.

The hotel was expensive and tired. I can live with that but what I hope will not persist is the dreadful staff. Philip the restaurant supervisor is hideous. During our stay he had members of his team in tears with his pathetic bullying in the restaurant, in front of the guests. It was uncomfortable for the guests and clearly completely harrowing for the staff. I can live with a hotel that needs updating but staff bullying. That's a real no no!

This one is a challenging review, so it's not modern, and our room was a cosy double, so when we come back we will book a deluxe, the prices are reasonable the quality of service is something unseen these days, the restaurant food is great, and the experience is something that you can not put a money value on, because anywhere that can make you forget about social media, work, home, and any other stresses in your world is simply priceless. Don't expect perfect! And you won't be disappointed.

Excellent hotel! Food choices and quality are very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has a character with some history. The location is perfect. The only downside is that there is a weak WiFi signal in some rooms. Otherwise, 5 star.

What a great place, with a lovely cozy feel about it. Like being trapped in another time. It probably needs a bit of updating, but I hope they keep it's charm and don't make it too modern. The staff were lovely, but 'uninformed' as regards the history of the place. I asked 4 separate people, and none of them knew anything, shame ( I ended up on good old Google!) Good food and lovely surroundings. Thank you

One night stay via a special offer with my parents, my husband, our two teenage girls and our dog. A wonderful 20 hours spent in this ridiculously idyllic location. We spent day on beach.yes in February.with champagne, coder, board games and threw sticks in the sea for our dog. Staff were brilliant, particularly the SA bar tender who politely brushed off my dad's constant request for a TV to watch the rugby (we watched in our room), gave me some ice when my husband twisted his ankle and made me a lovely gin and tonic.

Staff wonderful, rooms cosy. Dog friendly which is just lovely to see. Really lovely. It's not modern but why is modern always best? Totally charming. Only negative is that I'd love to return in the summer and sip a cold wine in the beautiful bar that overlooks the sea, but the prices are too much for us then. Thank you Knoll House.

Visited at quiet time. Prefer smaller hotels so good for us (retired couple). Location and proximity to beach is wonderful. Imagine it could be extremely busy in school hols. Provisions for families excellent. Food excellent. Staff all helpful and attentive. Our room across courtyard from main building was clean, warm and comfortable (cold January visit) and had undergone refurbishment.

Only fault was low shower pressure. Main building was characterful with interesting 1930's(?) paintings and furniture. Carpets and curtains a bit jaded and old fashioned but who wants modern in an old building? Studland itself is a small village with excellent pub on a beautiful sandy Bay with lovely country walks. Don't expect slot machines and candyfloss!

Was so looking forward to our little break away after a long hard year.the hotel was very dated. Single glazed metal windows that the wind howled though.shower in the bath that my husband had to stoop down to use. the bed was clean and comfortable.but very high.the food for the evening meal was minuscule so if you have a hearty appetite maybe eat elsewhere.

My pork tenderloin was rubbery. Red cabbage was bitter. And if the potatoes were supposed to be Christy roasted. They were definitely not.more like tined and flashed fried.not value for money.they also charge for table water.and the bar drinks. expensive indeed.

We absolutely loved staying at Knoll hotel for our weekend away. It is located in picturesque place near the beach with lots of tourists attractions near by. The staff is very professional, polite, knowledgeable and friendly, who wants to make your stay very comfortable, welcoming and unforgettable. They have continental breakfast there with vegetarian choices.

Great selection of dinner meals in the restaurant and cooked very well. Very comfortable beds and big bathrooms, the kids room with selection of movies, the library, the sauna and swimming pool. The whole atmosphere there make you feel at home. Dogs are welcomed there too!. : We will be definitely back there again!

Starting with what's good about Knoll House Hotel - very friendly staff, comfy beds, a great cooked breakfast, some very relaxing seating areas with open fires and an accessible baby grand piano (which my daughter spent hours on). There's no doubt the buildings themselves are tired - flaking external paint on windowsills, threadbare carpets in hallways, our bathroom looked like my Dad fitted it in 1992 and I'd liken our bedrooms to the standard on offer at a Travelodge. However, the venue's quirkiness, which is a mixture of the movie Dirty Dancing, the BBC series Hi-de-hi! and Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway Tree actually has appeal.

The hotel is undoubtedly a success because of its stunning location at Studland Bay. Should it be renovated? Yes. Would it make any sense to invest in that during a pandemic? No. Would I go back? Yes, but maybe not for the standard rates on offer.

Lovely stay and looked after by some busy staff. We stayed in Enid Blyton's favourite room with the lovely view across Poole Bay. There were some small shortcomings, but everything was sorted out to our satisfaction. (No charge for the late veg.) We have recommended you to friends already (booking soon) and we will return in the warmer weather.

Lovely stay, busy hotel but well run and organised. Nice room with smashing countryside view, quiet clean and comfortable. Nice cosy lounge areas with log fire, great after a long walk on the beach. All the food we had was flavoursome well presented and plenty, good choices each night. Gonzo and Alex are lovely people, looking after you in a efficient helpful and friendly way. We would recommend Knoll House for a relaxing stay.

We have stayed here a few times as it's in a lovely location. The hotel is very good and comfortable. This is the first time we didn't enjoy the breakfast, it was not up to the standards we had on previous visits. However, it wouldn't put me off staying again. It is just minutes from Knoll beach which is lovely

My wife and I, newly married, had a lovely honeymoon at the amazing knoll house hotel. We love its 1930s arts and crafts country house charm. The warmth and cosy feel is so welcoming. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. The dining experience was wonderful amazing food and drinks. We had great days out too to local Shell Bay, Knoll Beach and Harry's Rocks. We were sad to go home!

Staff were very friendly and helpful on phone before we arrived and in person. Had a wonderful walk out the back of the hotel (were we saw some deer) onto the Heath. Reception has some walking routes. Dinner was yummy. So many deserts choices made it hard to choose. Dawn walk on the beach was lovely only humans running or out with their dogs at that time. Open air pool is a must.
