The story of Xigera Safari Lodge is one of renewal. Of rebirth and family legacy, and of the pioneering spirit that drives us to seek out Africa's wild spaces. The same spirit that inspired this remarkable reimagining, perhaps a complete reinvention, of an Okavango Delta safari. This is Xigera (pronounced 'kee-jera'), named for the Pied Kingfisher that makes its home amid the watery channels of Botswana's Moremi Game Reserve. Every aspect is handcrafted to beguile our guests' senses and stir their souls - from the evocative interiors to one-of-a-kind encounters.

Fantastic 3 night stay in the Harbour View Apartment adjoining the Duke of Richmond hotel. The apartment was fantastic: self-contained with its own entrance door off the street, it comprised the ground and first floor of a converted town-house (there's also Garden apartment underneath). Two large and comfortable bedrooms with great en-suite bathrooms upstairs, and a good sized living room, separate dining room, well equipped kitchen and cloakroom WC downstairs.
It looks relatively recently renovated, I'd say in the last 2 years, nicely designed and well finished. Perfect space and facilities for a family of 4, or two couples. The hotel itself was closed for refurbishment, so we didn't use any of the facilities, or see much if it beyond the lobby and reception desk, but it looked very nice. Because the hotel was closed we were offered a self-catering rate, which was very reasonable.
I'd say that the normal rate (which includes breakfast, canapes, twice daily housekeeping etc) would also be fair value. Service was fantastic - reception and reservations staff were supremely helpful, both before our arrival and during our stay. The location is good - a short walk downhill through Candie Gardens to the main shopping / restaurant area. We were able to use one of the hotel's 5 parking spaces the whole time we were there, which was great, but I could imagine parking being a bit of a challenge in the summer.

Came here for a wedding which was superbly organised. Great venue with a wonderful suntrap outside terrace. The rooms were extremely well equipped all be it small if you have the classic double. Slow breakfast service and lack of staff was a small issue, however that seems to be everywhere at the moment, so not really the fault of the hotel. Overall I was very pleased.

Our table was booked for 8 pm. Waited until 8.30 before we got the menu's. Food overpriced, staff difficult to understand and staff not trained eg no wine bucket, had to constantly ask for the wine and champagne to be topped up. Tried to remove plates before we had all finished, eg we had finished the soup before bread served. Contacting hotel tomorrow.

Pre-COVID, my family and I enjoyed staying here during the holidays. This is a cute, boutique hotel located in St Peter Port, near the harbor. We enjoyed our relaxing mornings waking up and starting our days with our full english breakfasts before taking a stroll down to the shops and restaurants at the harbor in the early mornings and evenings. What a great location.
We also enjoyed having a drink or two in the early afternoons along with great conversations with their friendly bartender and waitstaff. The staff were always so friendly greeting us and remembering our names. They also went completely out of their way by setting up and decorating a live Christmas tree in our room for our young daughter to enjoy during our stay.
What a lovely surprise for her (and us). No hotel has ever done that for us before. Definitely a vacation that we will never forget. We look forward to the day that we will be back to visit our dear friend's family again in Guernsey!
