Rebranded Holiday Inn, it's exactly what you think it would be. Rooms are clean, basic, amenities in the hotel are limited. No restaurant, small bar, snacks available for grab and go. Bathrooms are SMALL, and the showers are SMALLER. Service is very good. For Boston, you can't beat the price. Location puts you walking distance to excellent sushi and the T is across the street. For the money, place is tough to beat in a town that excels in overpriced hotels. Would go back for solo travel, would not book it if traveling with family on vacation.

We came here to visit Fenway and it is walkable to the stadium about 15-20 minute walk. With public transport right next to the hotel as well. My problem with our stay and the hotel is that our sink in the bathroom didn't drain and it looked disgusting. The AC in our room didn't work, even when we arrived late from the baseball game the room was at 75 and it only got hotter as we went to bed.
At 2am had to ask the front desk for a fan to help relieve the heat in our room because it got up to 79 degrees. Very miserable to sleep in. Overall the hotel room feels outdated and the complimentary breakfast is something I wouldn't waste my time on. The last thing you should know before staying here is that they will nickel and dime you with fees. I wish I would have read the reviews before staying probably would have helped me stay somewhere else and get a good nights rest.

Hotel is clean and close to easy public transport. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast included but no restaurant for other food. A short walk to Coolidge Corner to restaurants, or a train into Boston. Recommend booking dinner at restaurants, the ones we tried were busy and seldom had room for walk-ins. Rooms can be serviced on request, the hotel provides plenty of towels.
Bed large and comfortable. My only disappointment was the noise from guests in rooms on either side of mine. As there was a connecting door between my room and both of the other rooms I could easily hear conversations, music and TV - doors don't block sound as effectively as walls. As my neighbours on both sides were very noisy until 3am I didn't have much sleep first two nights until they left. Finally, if you are attending an event at Agganis Arena it's a short and very pleasant walk from the hotel and felt safe even late at night.

**Buyer Beware** Make sure you request a copy of your bill, because they will rip you off. I inquired about extending my original 2-night stay to a 3-night stay, with the young man working at the front desk. He quoted me $250 for a third night. I compared that price to hotels.com, and it was the same. So, later that evening, I went back to the front desk, I extended my stay.
By this time, the shift had changed, and there was a new lady working the desk. I did not confirm with her the $250 I was quoted (not think I needed to). She said there was a note on my account about my inquiry. So, I figured all was good. However, when I arrived home from my trip, I looked at my receipt and saw I had been charged $400 for the third night.
I called to have them correct the error, and to my utter disbelief, the man claims, "there's nothing we can do, because you didn't write down the name of the man who quoted me the $250, and there's no documentation of his quote in our system." Really? I'm supposed to write down your worker's names, to prevent an overcharge? Unreal. I'm shocked and disappointed.
This was the second time someone in my family has stayed in that hotel this month. We booked a second trip, because we had had such a good experience there last month. Never again. Terrible, terrible service.

Great location - next to green line, walking distance to many restaurants. Clean rooms, good breakfast selection (thank you for having non-dairy milk available), very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Negatives - in room coffee maker didn't work, double beds are very small, ice not on every floor, loud ac/heat (only occasionally).

Had a really great stay here recently. Rooms are pretty spacious and clean. Good shower pressure, hot water. Beds are comfy, medium firm. Best part was the service at the front desk. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and nice - shoutout to Mohammed and the other manager who helped me change $100 so I had change for the T (didn't catch his name). Totally recommend.

Very enjoyable stay. Staff was exceptional. Best overall I've experienced. Nice large comfortable lobby and bar. Very clean modern decor. Comfortable room. Secure parking is always a plus. Only surprise was no refrigerator in the room. I saw one out in the hallway when leaving to checkout so perhaps it's upon request? But in this case it wasn't a deal breaker if I'm back in town because all else was great.

What a wonderful hotel! We came in to a warm welcome and check in was a breeze. The "junior" suite (603) is huge! Poofy, comfy bed, bedroom not so big but comfortable. Bathrooms are clean, as is the entire hotel. Lobby is modern and appealing. Most importantly, the staff are WONDERFUL. Thank you Brian and Muhammad!

Not a fancy hotel but a wonderful experience on the west side of Boston. Close to BU campus in a residential neighborhood. The front desk staff was LOVELY and helpful, the parking garage easy to navigate and a bargain (for Boston), the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was copious and tasty. Weird architecture (1970s old-style inner atrium, interior rooms quick dark), it was a really wonderful discovery.

This is just a perfect place to stay. Room was clean, comfortable (ice machine on 3rd floor). The service was fantastic! All very friendly and super helpful. Very prepared to make our experience just perfect. The location is amazing (Green Line is literally few steps away) It takes you Downtown in minutes. The lobby is cozy and we even stayed there for longer just relaxing and having beer at the bar! All you need is just there along Beacon Street! We'll definitely stay at Arcadian again and strongly recommend!

Perfect location.easy to get into Boston but in a peaceful neighborhood. Staff are super friendly and helpful (gave us Charlie cards to use for the T, which is right across the street) and when we had an issue with our heat (too hot in the room we were originally placed in), they quickly set us up in a new room, better location too. For the price, which includes parking and free continental breakfast, and especially the location, cannot beat it. Would definitely stay here on the next trip to Boston. Made me want to move to Brookline!

VERY nice staff! So lovely and immediately helpful when our neighbors decided they were having a party (they resolved the issue respectfully and immediately), and for little things, too - like when we asked for more towels. Wish there had been a fridge, and our wifi was wonky but I didn't have time to call about that until our last day there. We had to add some nights as we went along, and I can't tell you how accommodating these people were regarding our somewhat unconventional plans. I haven't experienced such wonderful customer service in a hotel before.

It's a spruced up Holiday Inn at least that's what used to be there. Lobby is nice and rooms with foldout couch are nice. Marketed as having a restaurant. It's not open yet doesn't even appear to exist. Bar is open with limited packaged snacks you buy from bar. There don't seem to be hired bartenders and hotel staff is doubling as bartenders.
So the drinks were not mixed properly. But the real story is where did my boots go? I bought brand new dr martens that had started lacing the morning we checked out. In town for my sisters wedding and had to head to the nail salon so my husband packed up the room. He thought I'd already packed my boots; that evening they were no where to be found as no one remembered packing them.
So they were left in the room next to the foldout couch, most likely where all the sheets were thrown after we put the foldout couch away. Called the hotel at 4pm the same day, they called housekeeping, they found them. My mom was still at the hotel so I told them she would pick them up. They tried to give my mom a pile of hotel books and a pair of glasses as what had been found in our room.
We don't even wear glasses so those had been found in someone else's room. They claimed hotel staff misunderstood on the radio, boots for books. Someone had already checked into room so there was nothing they could do to look. Coincidentally as my mom is at counter complaining a person walks by oh "room xxx, I'm in that room, there aren't any boots there" and walks out.
So either they got wrapped up in the sheets and sent to laundry room, housekeeping took them or the new guest found them and kept them because they were definitely left in that room. Oh and the rooms don't have a full closet so don't come here if you have a lot of suits/coats to hang up.

Nothing like a Holiday Inn at boutique hotel prices! No really, this used to be a Holiday Inn and after a surface level (unfinished) facelift, it has become the Arcadian. I don't want to dwell on every single grievance here. Bad customer service, overcharging for every little thing, the gross bathrooms (there isn't even a vent, nothing drains in the sink or shower, and we had to ask for extra toilet paper), noise levels, unusable amenities, etc. Included breakfast is just pastries wrapped in layers and layers of plastic wrap.
Go to Tatte a few blocks over instead. When we returned to our room the first night in the evening, we found the AC blasting cold air. We turned it as warm as we could and let it sit for quite awhile but it continued pumping cold air into our room. The engineer came by and said he couldn't fix it, so luckily we were able to move into the only available room in the hotel.
The heat worked there, but the man from the front desk dropped off the keys and left. I had to go get a luggage cart myself. I couldn't tell if we were the only ones having a terrible experience, but when we were heading to the front desk to check out, a man got there just before us. He slammed down his credit card on the counter and said "what a MISERABLE hotel." Apparently he had the opposite problem and his room was a sauna, nothing he could do about it.
The Arcadian is in a phenomenal location. And with such a great spot, there's a reason the Holiday Inn wasn't successful. A facelift won't fix a bad hotel, it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt from the ground up. Stay somewhere else.

Hotel charged me a facility fee of $55 sprung at checkout for their "complimentary breakfast." Their gymnasium hadn't opened yet and I didn't use their WiFi. Employee at the counter told me "It's more expensive in Boston." Pretty horrendous and callous behavior given the service at other local hotels. Will not be returning.

Staff was wonderful, especially the front desk staff. Location was great, although not located in the downtown area, it was close to small shops and restaurants that were perfect for an end-of-the day quiet time. Room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Very clean and the staff have been nothing but incredibly kind and helpful. They do offer a free continental breakfast, though it is slightly limited. It is partially under construction and it looks like a gym and a pool are in the works but are not open yet. There is a bar and a small snack shop, as well. The green line for the T stops right in front of the hotel which is SUPERR convenient for getting around town.

Pretty neat place. Still working on it. Stayed 2 nights. Asked for something to be brought up to our room as we were leaving for the day and when we returned hours later we found our door was left open. The dead bolt was thrown so anyone could access our room. Then as we left the next day I had to pay $90 for having my car parked in the basement garage for 40 hours. Absolutely ridiculous.

This newer hotel is fantastic. Customer service was top tier, and the staff was willing to help the whole time you're there. The lobby is very well done, and once the gym and pool open this hotel will be a must-visit. Prices were some of the best in town and we were very satisfied with the Arcadian.
