The hotel is very clean and our host was very helpful and made us very welcome but we found the area to be quite rough with many groups of youngsters wandering around which made us feel uneasy. Free Parking is quite difficult as it is very busy but there is a paid car park opposite but again there were many groups in there so we wouldn't leave our car there. The room was ok certainly sufficient for one night, breakfast was delicious.

The Sherwood is absolutely fine, the room was comfortable and had everything needed. The breakfast that was included in the price was good and certainly set us up for the day (and to be honest, it was the inclusion of breakfast that made us choose the Sherwood over the identically priced Premier Inn). We both found the forthright manageress to be very efficient and straightforward in communications, I certainly wouldn't want to cross her!
Location is good, about 10 mins or so walk into town and there is free parking in Dalby Square outside the hotel (mind you one of great things about Margate is the availability of free parking). My main issue, and I feel this is quite universal while the majority of us are still staycationing in the UK during the madness of the pandemic, is that the price didn't match the experience.
This felt like a 75-85 a night hotel for 125, and to be honest the Sherwood was the most reasonably priced in Marg=ate on that early September week. I would stay at the Sherwood again but at a price that is more in line with the experience.

We had a really lovely time at this hotel. I travelled with 2 teenagers and had a interconnecting room which was had lovely decor and was very comfortable. The breakfast was also filling and cooked perfectly. The only blip during our stay was that our tvs were not working properly but this was recified quickly and effectively. Also i felt the hotel was a fair walk (20-30 minutes depending on how quick you walk and how much luggage) from the main sands so would recommend a car, although its 4 in a taxi to the station or beach. Ultimately, i thoroughly recommend this place and will stay there again.

This is a great hidden gem of a hotel. The staff are very helpful and so friendly. The morning breakfast is always cooked fresh by the marvellous hostess. The family friendly atmosphere gives a nice edge to the hotel. You feel welcome as a 'visitor' more than a 'customer' and you receive a room key and a front door key so you can come and go as you please.
The rooms are huge and well looked after and the views are spectacular. Its so nice not having to worry about when we need to get to bed and where we need to be. The beds are comfy and the hotel offers entertainment in the evenings. Thank you for a great weekend.
