Tried to get away for a week over New Years and found a place called Summer Folly in Lincolnshire on the UHS website. Despite requesting the property very last minute, I was able to speak with Esme in the office. She guided me through payment and ID checks really swiftly and within hours, we were on our way. The Summer Folly was outstanding, and the response from UHS along the way was always attentive where needed.
The property was as photographed and advertised on UHS and surpassed our expectations. I appreciate that the quality of the property and its features is more down to the owners and how they maintain it, however, we assumed quality from UHS and were not disappointed. Thank you for meeting our expectations as an agency, and for providing a quick and reliable service at a time of year when everyone else seems to go to sleep.

One thing that I think could benefit your platform would be having dated reviews from all previous occupants of each property, that would build trust amongst those looking to know exactly how good each property is. I feel that not doing this means you are missing a trick and means that first 'buyers' of UHS can be more trusting that the high sums of money they spend will be met with a reassuringly solid product. As ultimately, UHS cannot be held responsible for poor maintenance or worn out interior.

None of the reasons we'd booked the cabin were actually on offer: hot tub out of service, no bbq, no towels. there was also a rave in the field next door and someone broke into our car. Given it's a cabin with nothing, when the main things don't work, you can't shower and you're paying 500 a night. it's a little baffling. Going through the reviews on Google, I wished I'd read them before booking as it seems to be a pattern of these places being ill-equipped. I'm sure some places are really nice but be EXTRA careful, or your cute getaway will quickly turn into an expensive nightmare.

They value style over substance. Nice pictures, service doesn't back it up. Stayed August 2021 at Ellesmera (Blackpool Sands, Devon). Very costly to us but splashed out for the family holiday. Location was good. Property took "rustic" literally. The house had a musical theme with every floor board and door handle squeeking at a different pitch! Good facilities but some basic things missing and cleanliness wasn't great.
Couldn't use one room as electricity wasn't working in that room. Couple of other things like this. Notified them on day 1, 2 and 3 but to no avail. I'm not prone to reviewing but after poor customer service and giving them a month to "investigate" my complaint I felt the need.

Just Fabulous - stayed at Tamarisk Beach House in Woolacombe in September. Everything about the house was fantastic. The house was spotless, beautifully presented, every last detail was provided, a well-stocked hamper with a handwritten card from the owner. I cannot fault the property nor the owner and frankly I'm astonished at some of the recent reviews here. UHS the agency dealt with our booking very well, considering that we had some extra requirements for my elderly parents. I would definitely book with UHS again.

I work as property agent supporting the efforts of Unique Homestays and I can say that they are the most professional of agencies with the highest of standards. I deal mostly with Tracy Ware in operations and the attention of detail, efficiency and passion that I experience is second to none. With an amazing working culture and such focus I am not surprised that this is the class leading holiday agency and truly worth of the name Unique Homestays.

Not as advertised and no customer service follow up. I first used Unique Home Stays in Spring 2019 and was very impressed. We then used them again in August 2020 for a 50th birthday celebration week. We booked Charity in the Black Mountains. It's a lovely property but probably closer to 'tumbledown' than 'rustic'. Total absence of advertised welcome pack, but worse than that, none of the advertised essentials were there.
That's a massive oversight given the number of closed shops at the moment. It would be easy to pack our own tea, coffee, milk, eggs, oils etc. But when you're told they will be there and they're not it's a total pain on arrival. There were many faults with the property, from minor to the dangerous. These ranged from thick furry green mould all over the shelves in the wine fridge to more basic things like no candles in the drawers for power cuts as per the house book (there were several power cuts so this was a big issue), some bedrooms with no working lights at all and even a leak in the roof.
I sent several emails to Unique Homestays detailing the issues and have never even had them acknowledged receipt - hence the 1 star. I appreciate they'll have had a tough year with reorganising visits around lockdowns, but this total absence of customer service suggests they maybe growing too fast. I'll be avoiding them from now on. If you look on UK Trust Pilot there are many similar comments to this.

I stayed with my partner at a property in Burford and whilst the images look nice on the website the reality of the property was sadly very different. We raised several issues to the staff at Unique Home Stays but they were quite frankly dismissive and offered little in the way of solutions. We ended up leaving early and whilst we enjoyed the area we wont be staying in Uniques cottages again. We still have not received our damage deposit back.

Do not trust Unique Home Stays - this company is dishonest and fraudulent. Their staff are rude and dismissive. My wife and I stayed at Peacock Blue in Dartmoor. The house did not match the website, with horrible views and bad amenities. It was also dirty and badly equipped. When we complained we got no proper response from Unique Home Stays in Devon.
They kept us waiting for a response and dragged it out for four days, saying "I will talk to my supervisor tomorrow and we will get back to you", when they never did. We eventually left but the company refused to reimburse us for the remaining days. This company is VERY expensive and the places are OVER-PRICED. They refuse to reimburse you or give you a refund or return your cautionary deposit. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. Horrible!

I was looking everywhere for a last minute family holiday for the Easter holidays. I came across a stunning house, Skyline, on Unique home stays and contacted the company to ask about it. We had a few extra requirements a hot tub being one of them. The staff at unique home stays were excellent! They liaised with Skyline's owners numerous times to ensure our holiday would be just right.
On arrival the house was beautifully clean and an amazing hamper was there to greet us. Any issues we had were dealt with straight away by the owner and their team. Within a week of our return the security deposit was returned to us. Unique home stays are the Harrods of holidays! We will definitely be booking again with them.
