Checking in took around 30 minutes as my booking wasn't on the system although I had already paid for it. The lady on the desk apologised but was short with me several times. Room was nice but there was a cigarette burn in the bed sheets. Went to go have dinner and manager for the night was rude, kept staring and making me feel uncomfortable. Once I finished my meal I waited for a staff member to come past so I could pay if I needed to as I wasn't sure because i did a deal, no one came so I thought it would go on my room.
I saw the manager at the bar and she said nothing. I walked to my room and she came running after me, making me feel embarrassed like I was stealing even though I was staying there for the night. I asked if it could just go on the room and I would pay later and she shrugged her shoulders and was really rude. Another lady staying at the hotel asked me if I was okay and if I had been overcharged as she had experienced something similar. Waiter was lovely but I will not be staying here again.

Excellent stay! Very hospitable personnel. GREAT bed! Though the bathroom is a bit small for somebody over 1.90m. The ambiance and the room are great! There was quite a lot of noise from people outside. But this was to be expected with all the windows open on a Saturday night. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future!

Witney is a beautiful house converted to a hotel in the little town of Witney, so you get the convenience of a hotel and the feeling of a house. Rooms upstairs can accommodate 4 people with common bathroom batten the four. There is a big garden just across the street, a church at the end of the garden that's peaceful. It's a quiet neighborhood. Hotel has basic aminities like towels coffee maker etc. Avoid big suite cases considering winding stairs. Breakfast is covered and is good.

But surprised check out is as early as 10am. Bit archaic in this day & age when 11am is standard & 12 at Travelodge / premier inns. Breakfast service bit slow. Rooms & little conservatory for tea/ coffee free cakes etc lovely. Glad we had a plug in heater as the radiators weren't on when we arrived late afternoon. We were both freezing! Not on after 8am either so needed the plug in again in the morning. Lovely place overall but spoilt by mentioned factors.

The room was well decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly. I only stayed there for one night. I do have one small criticism, the full English breakfast was a little on the small side however it more than made up for its size by its taste and quality. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our overnight stay at The Witney Hotel exceeded our expectations for the room rate. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The little extra touches such as the free refrigerated bottled water, complimentary cakes and complimentary coffee machine were much appreciated.
That breakfast was ample, beautifully cooked and served promptly with as much tea, coffee, juice and toast as we wanted. Great location alongside the beautiful church green and close to the centre of town. Will definitely go back.

Lovely hotel in the middle of a gorgeous town. The staff can't do enough for you, the rooms are clean and have everything you need plus more. Comfortable bed in the Windrush suite and a common room where tea and coffee is available with home made cakes. This is our second visit and we will definitely come again!

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic location. The Witney Hotel is one of those old fashioned affairs you find in small English towns. It's by no means plush, but it has bagfuls of atmosphere, it's scrupulously clean, and the location next to the village green is extremely hard to beat. On top of all that they serve an outstanding breakfast too. This really is an excellent hotel in its class and I can heartily recommend it.
