Great place to visit. Self guided tour. Struggled to find helmets that fit children. Was enjoyable for all. Need comfortable clothing and shoes. Wet inside and 186 steps. Would recommend any weather activity. Outdoor play area was good. Cafe only does pasties, sausage rolls, crisps and cakes. Suitable if you want a light snack

Visited for our dungeons and dragons-fan teenager. Really enjoyed our late morning in April visit. Very visually appealing, lots to photograph. Large car park. Felt it would have been claustrophobic and noisy at a busier time. Be aware there are nearly 200 metal, slippery steps inside, so need to be fit enough for this.

Fantastic day out, it's hard to please a 7, 11 and 14 year old all in one go, but we all really enjoyed this. Even the dog managed to make it up all the steps! Good fun and educational and the views at the end are wonderful. We thought it was very well priced for a family of 5 and the gift shop wasn't expensive either which was nice for the kids to spend their holiday money.

Great afternoon activity for the family. Quite pricey at 30 for the 4 of us, but we enjoyed what is quite an unusual activity. We were fairly tired after already doing a 5 mile trek that morning, so the 186 stairs at the end were punishing! Self guided tour, takes only about 45 mins to do the whole thing.

A good activity for half a day. My wife and I arrived at 10am with our two kids (10 & 13) to take advantage of a 10% discount before 10:30 with a tourist leaflet, which is available from plenty of locations (including reception of the site itself!). Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is normally 30, was 27 with the discount. There is a small 'museum' area with display cabinets just passed the counter.
The self guided mine tour takes less than an hour and has nearly 200 steps. There are 6 stopping points through the tour, where you push a button for a recorded passage about the different areas of the mine and the miners life. We were lucky and it was early and not crowded but I imagine later in the day when more are there, this commentary would be very difficult to hear if you're not right next to the speaker. An interesting tour and a great insight into a miner's life in the 19th century.
The gift shop has a wide variety of crystal and copper jewellery as well as over stone and gem souvenirs. There is also a cafe which is cash only though. The coffee was really nice. The scenery outside is beautiful and there is a national trust walk just across the road. The mine is worth a visit for a half day trip but it's not really more than that even with the small playground, panning for gold and metal detecting, the latter two available for an extra charge.

Really lovely gold mine, love the fact you can listen to an Audio in each section of the mine and read the panels. Got gold panning and metal detecting for younger ones and a trail walk along side too. Really good day out for the price the mine took about 20 minutes to walk through (that was us walking through it quickly) 180something metal steps near the end so if you cant do alot of stairs wouldnt recommend. Only 10 an adult.

A nice few hours, the mines were great and my children loved walking though them. Nice area to walk, lakes and view from mine exit is stunning. Great little gift shop and cafe and a little park for the kids too. My children did the gold/ gem panning and metal detectors and thought they were really good value, 3 each child for each one but on panning they get a mini jar to fill or fools gold and gems to keep and metal detector when they find 3 pennies they get to choose a prize.

Amazing experience, preserved copper mine hundreds of years old which was closed in 1903, reopened to tourists in 1986. Self guided tour so can spend as much time you need. Usually take about 2 hours. You enter at ground level and then go up the stairs (total 186 with different levels) and exit above the mountain. Mine inside is wet and damp, need a bit of fitness to climb the stairs but not too strenuous.

An amazing place to visit. Set in the heart of Snowdonia park it offers breathtaking views of a beautiful valley. The mine itself is a challenge and sadly I would not describe it as wheelchair accessible. There are 180+ steep stairs halfway through that for someone with a mobility disability I found a challenge but we'll worth the effort. The mine itself has several sections for you to stop and an audio tour you can enjoy.
It is a beautiful and peaceful place that can easily soak up an hour of your time. There is a small gift shop and museum. The cafe was not open on our visit due to covid but there is one. The price may seem a little much for some but I feel it was worth every penny. This is a place I will visit again.
