Beautiful hotel in the heart of Aberdeen. We stayed in the Lord Race Suite, and it was gorgeous. Clean linens and towels, very roomy with a good sized Queen bed, large wardrobe, sitting/desk area near the bed, and then on the other side a sofa, chair and table with a second TV. The bathroom was very impressive, and looked new. Large bathroom with tub and choice of handheld or overhead shower, heated towel racks, nice toilet/sink, and plenty of shelf space to keep your toiletries.
The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is that the temperature of the room was not adjustable and it was rather warm. There was a very hot radiator right outside the door to our room so the hallway was stifling. There was a newer looking thermostat on the wall in our room, but there seemed to be no power to it. We asked the front desk, and they gave us an oscillating fan right away, but had no other answers. Luckily, the weather was milder, in the 60s, so it was OK with the fan on us. All in all, a great stay, and we would return!

Great looking place when you first walk in, and the greeting by the staff was very friendly. The room however would have been okay if you enjoy the constant stench of cigarettes, the badly fitted carpet or the bathroom with half used toiletries scattered about. The bed was comfy enough though, and the smell of the place only really hit you for the first few minutes after walking in. I imagine you become nose blind to it after a while. Nice breakfast in the morning though!

Shame they don't care for the homeless. My dad visited recently to ask if he could prepay for a breakfast meal for a well dressed, clean homeless man who had been bus hopping just to stay warm. On approach he was met with shrugged shoulders and a no. I understand this might be a hotel policy and not staff ignorance however I find this very disappointing. Maybe do better?

You get just about what you pay for which is not much. While the rooms are cheap, so is the quality of the hotel. As you walk into the reception and lounge you are greeted with a hideous, dated green carpet. The furniture in the rooms are also dated, the wardrobe in my room looked like it was out of the conjuring movie. The rooms do not look like they were advertised on Google and are definitely in need of some refurbishment and a deep clean.
They are very dated which can be seen in the wallpaper and curtains. The bathroom was one of the worst I have seen in any hotel I have ever stayed in. Orange drip marks in the bath and a shower that looked like it was made in the 80s. Cracked tiles above the bath and cracked paint on the walls. The windows are single glazed and there is no heating which leads to very cold nights in the winter. Exposed cables on the ceiling and wallpaper ripping off in one of the corners. Windows look like they have no been cleaned in over a century.
The floorboards creak like an old wooden shack in the wind. Use the lift at your own risk. As it arrives at your desired floor, it suddenly stops for around 10 seconds, then shakes and finally the door opens. You can hear it screech the the way up or down, clearly showing it's age. The corridors are poorly lit and have exposed cables everywhere, being held up by a small rack on the ceiling.
It's nice to have free parking but the size of the parking areas are very small so it's first come first serve. If you don't get a spot you either have to park at a nearby multi-storey or your stuck next to the dodgy dumpsters in the alley behind the hotel. While waiting for the lift to arrive so we could leave the hotel, We encountered a rather rude staff member. Will not be staying here ever again.

Warm welcome by Shane and Lauren. Room very comfortable and awesome shower head and a bath in my room for soaking in after camping. And my room was freshly decorated. I really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is being modernized but I hope retains its character and charm - Big plus, most convenient for station and Aberdeen centre, Affordable too. Thank you

On a tight budget and chose the Station Hotel thinking it would be okay - I was wrong, the hotel is not okay, it's excellent! I knew the location was great but didn't expect such a good hotel. Staff are lovely, reception area very inviting, restaurant and bar are very good (and at affordable prices) and the rooms have been recently refurbished. So impressed that I've already booked it again for my next visit to Aberdeen.

Rooms at the front were cold and noisy due to the single glazing. Understandable in an old building but, it would be nice if reception had extra heaters if the rooms do get chilly. Even extra blankets would be great! Rooms otherwise are very nice, modern and big. Not pictured is the lovely waterfall shower. Food was nice, typical hotel fair. Service was good too.
Breakfast is where the place really shines. Staff can't help you enough, plenty options hot & cold. Really couldn't fault it. Overall a good stay which was soured by the coldness of the room.

Enjoyed our stay, room was spacious and clean and hotel is very welcoming, Staff are friendly and always helpful. We also enjoyed some food in the restaurant, we had high tea which was great value for money. Lots of choice on the menu, and enjoyed our cakes . Drinks were great quality with lots of choice. Would highly recommend and will come again :.
