Wonderfully positioned on the coast, Lymington is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty as well as numerous historical sites such as Henry VIII's castle at Hurst Spit and Buckler's Hard, where many of Nelson's ships were built. Lymington is a departure point for the Isle of Wight Ferry to Yarmouth, being situated at the western end of the Solent, the sheltered strip of water that draws sailors from all over the U.K. and beyond.

A lovely location on the High Street decorated beautifully for Christmas. The afternoon tea was delicious and very festive- in fact there was too much for us to finish! Service was slow but we were in no rush so it didn't bother us too much. The evening meal was delicious with good options. Unfortunately the breakfast was a let down, the pancakes were horrid so I was unable to finish them and the waitress was very miserable- no 'good morning', or small talk, very blunt and disinterested. However, that aside (because maybe she was having a bad day) it is a stunning hotel, especially for the festive season.

Our must visit when at the Lymington market on Saturday. The coffee and tea cakes are just right and the service is excellent. Food is great too so no complaints!

Delicious fish and chips and served piping hot. Staff were great and very efficient. Even went out of their way to arrange a special meal for my friend.

Steak, chips, veg all was very nice, staff very nice, relaxed atmosphere. Not sure about the tables, they have holes in them! so be careful where you put your glass or else your drink may disappear faster then normal!

We were given the gift (Christmas 2019!) of a 3 course meal for 2 but due to Covid restrictions since then, only now been able to take advantage of the gift. Wow, very well worth the wait, highly tasty food and fantastic service tonight, we really enjoyed our meal, thank you very much! We would love to come back ASAP.

Very well located hotel on the high street. Room was OK but very dated. Breakfast was very good, we ate in the hotel one evening and the food was not great. The cosy bar was nice. The staff definitely make this place - each and everyone of them was polite and friendly.

Difficult one this the hotel first. No on site parking which for me is a big issue, the pay and display is not far away but not something I would chose too do with luggage etc. Parking on the High Street is difficult even to drop off. Garden room was spacious and whilst all the furniture was nice on the eye not practical or comfortable. Bed was low and uncomfortable and the chairs were uncomfortable and sofa on the floor.

No water in room and no service of room for stays over one night 290/night seems very expensive. Paying for location on High Street But no parking! Dinner in the restaurant was good the food was excellent and generous portions. Service was good but some of the newer staff need more training. Breakfast was good but restrictive choice and constant reminders of extra charges for specialty coffee annoying! Breakfast service more officious than friendly. Definitely worth a visit to the restaurant but I would stay elsewhere.

Nice place to stay rooms due to be upgraded but they were in good condition. The staff were really nice and helpful and the rear garden area nice place to sit and enjoy a drink in the sun. The food was good and has a decent wine and cocktail menu to choice from.

Wonderful hotel. So central in Lymington and with truly gorgeous and very generous gardens. It is an oasis of calm and comfort amidst the bustling seaside town. We loved it.

Great venue but disappointing food and service. For a place with so much potential it was such a let down. During our visit one drink was served with broken glass in it, no apology was made and the staff acted in almost an accusational fashion. In addition, the duck breast and the cod fillet were very over cooked and the sea food linguine has some fish overcooked and some fish undercooked.

Went here for afternoon tea last summer and was extremely disappointed with the service. We had been given a gift voucher for the afternoon tea experience and were very excited about going. We went on an extremely hot day and were never offered cold drinks and had to ask multiple times before receiving a small glass of water each. Every staff member that served us seemed to want to get away as quickly as possible.

We never got a description of what was on the afternoon tea stand, yet other tables we could see seemed to get a very different service from the same staff member. The food itself was the only saving grace, actually some of the best cakes we've had with an afternoon tea service, however the whole experience was completely let down by uninterested staff.
