Had a lovely stay! Staff were exceptional. Breakfast was tasty and good quality! Hotel could do with a little TLC but did not hinder my stay in any way! Love the quirkiness of this old hotel. Would definitely stay again!

We had such an amazing time at the George hotel for a wedding. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They are extremely hard working. The bedroom was very large and well equipped even though we only went for a classic l and the hotel has many comfortable lounge areas as well as the amazing outside next to the sea. We just felt really relaxed the whole time. We had dinner in the hotel and this was a great experience too. Beautiful monkfish.

Popped in here for afternoon refreshments after walking around Yarmouth. A really lovely old historical place to visit and a very modern and spacious garden overlooking the solant and pier. Price for tea and coffee was reasonable and the setting made it a great visit.

Two stars for the location alone. Appears to be a popular place for having too many drinks - although not on the overpriced French wine. Food menu uninspiring and disappointing in reality. Trying to be fancy with a soup that gets poured in to bowl in front of you, but my husband's bowl arrived without the jug of soup and then the jug got removed despite not quite being empty (and he had to ask for a spoon, got a serving spoon not a soup spoon). Won't be sucked in by the location again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the George. The room was very comfortable, warm, and cozy. We enjoyed all our meals in the restaurant. Everyone from Reception right through to the restaurant was super friendly and caring making the stay all the more pleasant. We would most definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at The George over Christmas, it was so good that we are thinking of booking for next Christmas! Our only comment would be that although the food was absolutely amazing we would personally have preferred more of the main course dishes to have been accompanied by fresh vegetables and to have one of the desserts to have been based on fresh fruit. This is a minor matter compared to everything else that could not have been bettered.

We had an amazing stay and the staff were brilliant. Only criticism was our room, which was in the loft and slightly underwhelming for the price. Also, the hotel was empty meaning we could have been offered a better room or a discounted upgrade. Also, the menu online wasn't the same as when we got there. I appreciate this was because the hotel was shutting down for the off season, however the website should have been update accordingly.

Second stay in two weeks.this must say something. In winter months the fire stets the scene in the bar for relaxing with family and friends. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff helpful and the restaurant delivers Will we be back? I would be very surprised if we are not Thank you to all

Hi Mostly our stay was nice but it was really ruined by the room. The food was great though would have liked to see a bit more in terms of veggie options and we were a bit surprised by cost of bread. The restaurant service was fine. The bar was great. The room was nice enough but when we arrived the radiator did not work, it was freezing. When we went to dinner the receptionist managed to turn it on but once on it was stuck on full. This made for a very hot night even with windows open. As a result of heat and noise from outside we did not manage much sleep unfortunately.

We had the most wonderful stay at The George. We were kindly given an upgrade to a fabulous room with a terrace overlooking the sea and enjoyed every minute. The service was excellent and the food at dinner was utterly delicious. We left feeling so relaxed after just 24 hours, that it was as if we had been away for a whole week! It was a treat from start to finish.

A wonderfully atmospheric hotel steeped in history and surrounded by the picturesque town. Food is fantastic. Rooms could do with some updating but still a high standard.

We really enjoyed our stay at The George this weekend. The hotel and location were perfect, and the garden was so lovely to enjoy even at this time of year. The staff were brilliant, we couldn't fault anyone in any way, they were all so helpful, polite and friendly (especially Miguel) and great with our our two daughters. After seeing the recent food hygiene rating we were a bit dubious before we came, however we instantly felt reassured as soon as we got in the hotel. Everything/where was impeccable (especially what we could also see of the kitchen too), the food was delicious for dinner and the breakfasts we enjoyed there, and we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island.

We're regulars to Yarmouth as we sail there, but have never stayed in The George until last weekend. What a gem! An historic and beautiful hotel that feels very relaxed and very natural in all respects. The staff made us feel extremely welcome and couldn't do enough to make our experience great. I'm Coeliac and was extremely well catered for by knowledgeable and really helpful staff, who clearly take pride in what they do. We have a dog who was made very welcome and allowed to stay there with us. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely short stay!

Great weekend at the George. Comfy room, spacious, lovely ambiance and location. Well greeted and bar is brilliant for a cozy drink. Kids were able to relax. Room for improvement - the breakfast options could be developed. Kids normally have pancakes or scrambled eggs. The options were quite limited. There is a sign outside the prestige room we were in (room 17) that banged all night so we didn't really sleep. We told the hotel receptionist.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable 2 day stay at the George this week. We were in room 27 which is on the top floor and furthest from the stairs. Its quite hike for people in their seventies. The room was comfortable but it has a small high window and is perhaps not worthy of the room rate of the other classic rooms. We had a great welcome from the receptionist who carried our bags upstairs.

She was excellent throughout. We only used the restaurant for breakfast. This was first class, very good buffet and delicious cooked breakfast. The restaurant staff were very courteous and efficient. The view from the restaurant is superb. Our stay was great. The staff are all brilliant. Next time a room with a view would be good. Kind regards Tom Bremridge

We had an absolutely great stay at The George. The greeting was top notch from the receptionist and this customer service carried on throughout the hotel from all the staff. It's quite a young team in the bar and restaurant but all were easy to chat to and so friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast, dinner and afternoon pizzas were all lovely, highly recommend the food.

We had room 15 which had a terrace overlooking the garden and sea, we were unlucky with the weather so couldn't make full use of it during our stay, very clean room, bed was extremely comfortable, bed linen top notch and lovely fluffy white towels. The toiletries are one of my favourite brands 'Noble' and you get plenty of them. Our stay was memorable and it was the help of the staff that made it so.
