Situated in the bottom of Port Isaac at the mouth of the port. Lovely location and great service by the attentive staff who get 5 stars. However only 3 stars for the food unfortunately, nothing disastrous but the fish and chips were average at best. The fish was ok to be fair but the chips were rather tasteless and if charging nearly 17 a portion then they have to step up to the high price tag in my eyes.

Lovely bar and outisde sitting area. We had the fish and chips which was nice. It was a large portion which came with mushy peas and plenty of tartar sauce. Worth a visit if you are in the village.

We visited the Lovely Port Isaac in a period of good weather in late March. Famous for being (among other things) the filming location of Doc Martin and the film Fisherman's Friends, Port Isaac is a lovely traditional Cornish fishing village located on a small inlet with the slipway a centrepiece. Parking didn't prove a problem (there are several out of village car parks that are within walking distance, with in-town parking a rarity). Looking its best on a lovely day, it was also a day for the Doc Martin show to be filming.

We were delighted to see some of the cast (photos not included as unsure of copyright) filming around the town including 'Doc Martin's House' on Roscarrock Hill. We enjoyed a walk around the town, took in the famous Golden Lion pub, a local gallery near the Slipway, had a nice Slipway lunch, coffee at the Old School Hotel and took in one of several tea rooms (the Cornish Cove) with lovely views out across the inlet.

A very pretty location to spend an afternoon or morning (a day may be pushing it for us). I suspect it will be buzzing over the summer months - the timing of our visit was just about right it felt. Well, worth a visit if you are in the vicinity or a fan of the 'Doc'.

OMG! I had the rib eye special with whole sauteed mushrooms, onion rings and chips along with the most delightful balsamic vinaigrette spinach salad. The rib eye was so tender it cut like soft butter. The BEST meal I've had in years! Topped it off with a perfect glass of Malbec. Chef.you outdid yourself! Highly recommend!

Lovely service, have the burger! Good beer. Was here for a few days and the staff remembered us, what we liked to drink, etc.

Ordered 4 x prawn cocktails (main), which cost 10 each. Expected some nice quality fresh prawns considering its directly opposite the fish market. What we got was a few lettuce leaves, about 10 prawns (the type you get from the supermarket frozen) and one tomato sliced in half. It was served in a small starter bowl l, which was only half filled and we had to remind them to bring bread (which was supposed to be included).

When we questioned the price and complained that we weren't happy, we were told 'everything is going up'. The waitress did offer to get us more but came back out to say they'd run out, no discount offered at the end. Feel completely exploited and it's ruined our experience of Port Issac.

I booked one night in the hotel, my twin room was very clean and tidy, the bed mattress was comfortable I slept very well. Location was good and very quiet in the night, breakfast was as included. If I want to go quiet location I will definitely back again. Port Isaac beautiful place to relax small fishing village on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall.

Great location and nice clean room with view of harbour. Room was small but the the bathroom was tiny. Small port town so space is at a premium. Comparative to other places we stayed in Cornwall this was the smallest room and also the most expensive. Not a criticism just pointing out the premium payed for staying near the harbour, with limited competition for customers. Great breakfast choice and quality.

We had the most warmest welcome and found all of the staff friendly and helpful. We had a room with a view of the harbour and our own balcony, this was perfect in the evenings. Our room had everything we needed and was comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and we would love to come and stay again!

Out stay was fantastic. The room was lovely, team are very friendly and accommodating. Gluten - Free Breakfast was one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had anywhere, ever- and I've had a few!

The building is nice and interesting, and there's plenty to do in Port Isaac. However, this hotel has a few little small problems that add up to one one big one. On top of that, we were staying in the family room, which could sleep 6 but you had to pay extra for two or more people. So we were paying 300 a night.

Fab fish and chips for lunch! We called in to the Slipway Hotel for lunch on our day trip to Port Isaac with the dog. Sat outside and after having seen another customer eating the fish and chips, we all decided to have the same as it looked so good. And we weren't disappointed. The place was lovely and clean, with a great ambience. Would definately go back again if we were in the area.
