Overlooking the harbour, The Seaforth offers a prime location for appreciating Ullapool, Loch Broom and the Highlands of Scotland! Top quality, local produce is available in our bar, bistro and chippy, along with music, spirits, beers and wines.

Absolutely amazing food! I had scampi chips and salad in a box, with of course Irn Bru. Even had home made tartar sauce! Definitely worth the money and it was the only place open when we were walking around at 8.30pm. My partner had sausage and chips and loved it! The food is sourced locally which makes it even better that you want to spend money to help a local business!

Nice food on a plus point. Service was slow but polite and then wham with the bill adding 10% service charges and for me over priced. 4 seated with drinks and each had burger 105. If you are gonna charge service just add the price to the food instead so we know what we paying. Next time I'm in Scotland we will avoid this place

Went to the Seaforth tonight for dinner out with my girlfriend and we didn't book a table prior to going. When we got there the staff were amazing and so accommodating even though they were getting very busy. I had the scallops and my girlfriend had soup of the day. Both were INCREDIBLE! for the main course I had the mussels which were some of the best I've ever had and the portion size was fantastic.
My girlfriend had the fish and chips and she said it was the best she has ever had. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection and the batter was light and crunchy. We will be back again for sure and we can't wait to try all of the menu. Can't recommend this place enough.

We waited outside to be seated for nearly 10 minutes when the restaurant was very quiet and staff members were stood chatting to each other. When we were finally seated we were immediately pestered for our drinks and food order. No time was given to look over the menu. After ordering drinks we kept being asked if we were ready to order. After being asked at least five times within five minutes if we were ready to order we finally gave in as we felt that we had to order something quickly.
As soon as we ordered we were immediately presented with the bill and were expected to pay even before our food had arrived. We were thinking of ordering more drinks and settling at the end of a relaxed meal but this was not meant to be. Overall we felt pestered and hounded to order quickly and pay even quicker. We weren't the only ones. At one point we saw eight members of staff stood chatting whilst several customers were waiting outside to be seated.
Aside from being made to feel completely unwelcome, the food was average at best and the prices were extortionate for the portion sizes we received. I would recommend using Davey's fish and chips on the harbour front. Rubbish staff who provided rubbish service at an extortionate cost. Watch out for the hidden service charge that you're not told about until you have to pay.

By far one of the best fish and chips in Scotland! The service staff was genuine, friendly and checked on us at various times to see if all is good. They have also started on a new ordering system where you don't have to download an app, just simply scan the QR code, order your food, payment is immediately made, and your food will shortly arrive. 10/10!

My Husband and I called in here last month as We were travelling round Scotland in camper-van. I am not a fish person so asked husband to get large chips and fish for himself. When he returned the fabulous smell from container made my mouth water, I started on my chips but I asked husband if I could just try a small piece of his fish as it looked amazing.
First taste and I was hooked so I ended up eating most of his fish. I would highly recommend if you are near Ullapool call in at the Seaforth you won't be dissapointed. Next time We are up there We will definitely call in again.

My family and I love this place. The staff for a start were friendly and accommodating. The food served were fresh and really tasty. My son who is picky with food cleaned up his plate and my daughter wants to come back here the next time we come to Scotland again. I do not mind the price of the food because the portions are big, tasty and fresh.

Had a delicious lunch here! Pet friendly too which is always a bonus. Had the vegan Fish Fillets which I really enjoyed and my fiance had the Langoustine. Love that there was the option to have a vegan "fish" and chips option! My fiance's mum had the regular fish and chips which she also enjoyed. Portion sizes were huge for fish and chips and veg "fish" and chips, definitely worth it. There is an outside undercover area too which is great with pretty views of the water.

Enjoyed the scampi and chips (10.50) very much. All was fresh and I especially appreciated the chips which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with excellent flavour. The dressed side salad (included free of charge) was a nice touch that I hope other chippies will adopt. Could have been slightly more generous with the scampi and could have offered salt and sauces at the counter to save me having to open (complimentary) sachets and apply myself. The queuing system with handheld buzzers when your order is ready works well. Decent disposable and environmentally friendly cutlery was provided.

Started out weak. Waited 10 minutes while the staff congregated with just 20 people and 6 staff. The Seaforth Lager was the coldest beer we have had in the UK. We ordered oysters, steamed mussels, and scallops in a pan. They did not have any oysters but eh mussels and the scallops were fantastic! My husband said best fries in the UK! Finished strong. Try it

Bad review for the takeaway section (sign outside says "The Chippy") for several reasons: -Fish (without chips) are bad.fish drenched in oil. -Scampi: shrimp is tiny and has a huge thick batter on it, and the area where the shrimp meets the batter is soggy and slimy. It tasted like low quality frozen store bought scampi. -have to pay 50 pence for tartar sauce (Heinz) -they said they don't carry napkins! In all my years of travel, that was a first for me. Odd way to save costs. -soft serve: it had a weird taste to it. -cole slaw and gravy were of course not great either.

The last time my boyfriend had fish and chips here must have been about 6 years ago, and it's changed hands since then, but I have to say it wasn't quite the Best Fish and Chips Ever as he made out. But that's not the Seaworthys fault he gave me such high expectations. It's perched very close to the harbour and has a separate dining area and take away.
They also have an upstairs bistro but it isn't open during the winter. The decor and feel of the place was everything I wanted! Dark woods, stain glass windows of ships, roaring fire, Scottish music playing. Perfect. We even managed to get comfy sofa seats right next to the fire. The food was prompt and while not The Best was pretty darn good.
We all ordered the standard size rather than the jumbo but there was still plenty of eating on the fish and the chips were light and crispy yet chunky. It was a tad on the pricey side but that may just be the extra price with it being a restaurant rather than take away. I usually get fish and chips to take away! Nice friendly staff, good food, not too over priced, great atmosphere and decor. All in all a pretty wonderful place to stop at especially if you're driving through the area.

When we are 2 of 6 people in the joint and the staff 5 of them can't manage a smile, a greeting, or even a nod, then we have a problem. got the burger and chips. I'm not sure where the Cook has come from but here is a tip, when your chips come out of the fryer, you sprinkle a little salt on them, #lazysod. also as a rule the bumb end of a tomato doesn't work as the only other thing in my $16 burger.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in here. A varied drinks selection (lots of great whiskies and local ales) and a simple hearty menu work well here. The local fishermen were in here as we ate, demonstrating the Seaforth's popularity with locals and tourists alike. My partner & I shared the chiperones (deep fried baby squid) to start, Kris then had a classic burger and I followed with a kilo of mussels in a cream, garlic & white wine sauce.
All I can say is wow to all the seafood! So fresh and evidently cooked with love. Kris' burger was also excellent but in a place like the Seaforth it would be a travesty not to have some fish fresh off the boats!

Had dinner here last week and was impressed with the giant plate of langostines I was served. They were super tasty and the portion was HUGE. Service was fairly non-existent. We sat outside in the covered patio but had to go inside and stand in a queue to order. Someone bought our food & drink and that was about it. Dining companion had the venison burger which apparently wasn't that great. Did spy a seafood bucket on another table that had lobster which looked pretty good. Nothing overly amazing but nothing to complain about either. Free wifi if you order food, ask the server for a docket.

We came here whilst camping, on a recommendation and were delighted. We ate in the pub and had the chipirones, tiny little squids deep fried, absolutely delicious. We both had the fish and chips, and whilst I love the little chippy in Anstruther, I have to say this is the best fish and chips I've had in the UK. My all time favourite is a little place called D'lish Fish in Sorrento, Mornington Peninsula, Australia. Been there twice on 2 separate visits to Oz and it didn't disappoint. However, back to Seaforth, the fish was white, flaky and sweet, and the batter was perfect, crispy with absolutely no sogginess. I'd happily drive here from Falkirk, just to have lunch and drive back home again
